I’m sure it’s been said already but the shaving cream hack is actually an army thing. It works to take off camouflage face paint because it’s greasepaint. So it won’t work for typical powders / foundations.

You should do a video where you do a whole face of makeup using your normal products but you can't use any of them the way you normally would - like you have to use lipstick for blush and eyeshadow for contour and eyeliner on your brows
The way you describe it is too normal actually. In France, it was very common for women to have one perfect red lipstick which they also used for blush. Women of very dark colours have used black eyeshadow for contouring and I personally use brown eyeliner for my brows and nyma tang uses black eyeliner for the perfect brow herself. Basically, Safiya has to come up with an extra special combo now
Lmao I use my pink lipstick as blush and eyeshadows sometimes, contour products as eyebrow fillers and eyeshadow, and mascara for filling in brows or used as eyeliner;most of these I use on short trips where I don’t bring many products. Women have been doing this since the 20’s! Audrey Hepburn used to recommend separating lashes with a pin. Just make sure you sanitize the needle with alcohol and maybe a flame.
Everyone is so freaked out by this but I feel like by being someone who puts in and takes out contacts every day I'd be a lot more comfortable and willing to try this haha

I watch a lot of Beauty Hacks and that one always got to me too lol. I think some of them are just supposed to be fun experiments. They have a similar one with nail polish either on your eyelids or lips and I'm amazed that people would try that. They do have a couple DIY hacks I want to try though like making your own setting spray and makeup remover pads.

Wouldn't it make more sense to just use a q-tip and the food colouring alone though? Skip the toxic glue altogether? That would mean no need to let it dry, less waste, much better application time and the food colouring can be carried with you in your purse so could work in an emergency. One drop would stain both your lips for several hours.

I was about to comment that 😅 panty liners are mostly less expensive than pads, also, I don't think the adhesive would be super bad for your skin since it normally comes quite close to the vagina, therefore it shouldn't contain things too harmful for the skin
I think it's not so much what's in it as that putting adhesive on your skin and then peeling it off will irritate it. Even something totally natural like banana slime will irritate your skin a bit if you leave it on and let it dry. Also, I'm glad _someone_ noticed they weren't pads.
Came here to say the same thing and instead will upvote you. Panty liners are like $4 at walmart for a 120 count box, so even if you did 1 liner a day you have enough for 3 months, thats not that expensive!

I get what you are saying they used panty liners before the actual stickers were made but when that video was made they were def already a thing and you can get them like 20 pairs for $3 with adhesive that is safe to go that close to your eyes. Just cause grandma used to do it doesn't make it smart if it did we would still be tanning with baby oil and iodine 🤣
And panty liners aren't expensive. I can get a pack of 100-200 for $1 at my dollar store. I'd still probably stick to regular tape, but if you run out and always have 7,000 liners on hand like I do, then it's not a horrible hack.

Avon has had a "brow filler" gel brush-pen with tiny fibers in it, for years. It"s tinted and has LOTS of fibers tho. That's probably what they tried to do?

The girl in the eye shadow video wasn’t using a pad! She was using a panty liner. It’s way thinner than a pad and sticky all across the bottom, so it would actually stick closer to your face. Still wouldn’t recommend using it though lol.

Yeah I agree. It's definitely stupid to recommend it as a lipstick hack because nobody carries around glue and food coloring. But as a product itself, it looked nice and definitely could be a cheaper alternative to buying those peel off lipsticks.
I feel like rather than a lifesaving tip it’s just a cheap way to stain your lips at home? Most people will have glue and food colouring but not those peel off lip-stains you can buy. I don’t really see the problem with that one.

I was about to comment that 😅 panty liners are mostly less expensive than pads, also, I don't think the adhesive would be super bad for your skin since it normally comes quite close to the vagina, therefore it shouldn't contain things too harmful for the skin
I think it's not so much what's in it as that putting adhesive on your skin and then peeling it off will irritate it. Even something totally natural like banana slime will irritate your skin a bit if you leave it on and let it dry.
Also, I'm glad _someone_ noticed they weren't pads.
Came here to say the same thing and instead will upvote you. Panty liners are like $4 at walmart for a 120 count box, so even if you did 1 liner a day you have enough for 3 months, thats not that expensive!

The girl in the eye shadow video wasn’t using a pad! She was using a panty liner. It’s way thinner than a pad and sticky all across the bottom, so it would actually stick closer to your face. Still wouldn’t recommend using it though lol.

Yeah I agree. It's definitely stupid to recommend it as a lipstick hack because nobody carries around glue and food coloring. But as a product itself, it looked nice and definitely could be a cheaper alternative to buying those peel off lipsticks.
I feel like rather than a lifesaving tip it’s just a cheap way to stain your lips at home? Most people will have glue and food colouring but not those peel off lip-stains you can buy. I don’t really see the problem with that one.
