We had one come in our yard today that was smaller. I've never seen one I'm in central Texas. We gave him fresh lettuce and water. He ate and drank then went on his way. Very neat

I turned out to be some kind of African Tortoise that a neighbor had as a pet. It was very cool to see. Maybe one day I will see a real Texas Tortoise.

@@matthewrandall6320 oh wow how crazy, did they ever get it back? The one that was in our yard today kept coming back and our German shepherd wouldn't leave it alone, I then put it in the front yard again and my neighbor came outside who just recently moved in, turned out he was some sort of turtle expert and studied all of them in biology. It was some sort of box turtle thank god he took it I didnt know what to do with it, it kept coming in the backyard!!! So yeah maybe one day i will get to see a true texas tortoise as well 😂

This is not a Tx Tortoise, but an African Spur Tortoise. A Tx. tortoise only gets to about 8-inches in length. The tortoise in your video is one that people tend to get as a pet and then they get away in neighborhoods.
