  • Hey Purposed People!
    In this video I will be discussing how I got into the UCLA School of Nursing. I am currently in the process of moving from Northern California to Los Angeles because school begins in 2 weeks, but I wanted to make this video for anyone who may interested in the nursing field, pre-nursing students or students that are feeling discouraged because they have not been accepted into a program yet! I truly believe that God wants us to serve one another! I hope this video blesses you and motivates you! Oh.....and don't forget you are PURPOSED!

    Wow.. I am touched.. 😢 this video definitely made me have more confident in myself. This is definitely a video I will keep coming back to whenever I’m in doubt or I feel like I’m losing motivation. Thank you so much! I love how you mentioned that they don’t only look at your gpa but about work experience and volunteering. But most importantly, yes! God does great things! 💛💛💛💛💛

    You're such a gem. I saw you a year ago when you kindly shared your journey at the information session. I'm planning to apply now for fall of 2021 and this video served me in so many ways. Thank you for your expression and advice. Of course, your connection with the divine is powerful.

    I'm a junior in highschool looking to become a nurse. Do you go straight to the school of nursing after high school or do you do the school of nursing after already completing the correct classes in college? tysm

    The program seems awesome, I'm planning to apply in the future. Do you think just volunteering or interning in a clinical setting would be enough to be competitive for admission? or did most students in your cohort have work experience like EMT, CNA, etc?

    • @ThePurposedNurse
      @ThePurposedNurse  4 года назад +2

      Hi Oscar, there were some people in my cohort that did not have any experience at all. Something is always better than nothing in my opinion, but I would also focus on making other areas strong as well.

    Hi I’m so confused don’t know what to do. I have a BA in Psych and would like to be a nurse. I’m a mom and wife and would like to buy a house in the future. Should I apply to a ADN, ABSN, or Entry level Masters in Nursing? I’m almost done with my prerequisites. I’m scared of getting a loan because I’m low income. Thanks!

    • @ThePurposedNurse
      @ThePurposedNurse  4 года назад +1

      Hi Elizabeth! Thanks for your question! It honestly depends. Typically ADN programs are cheaper than ABSN, and Entry Level Programs, but if you wanted to work at a Magnet Level hospital you wouldn't be able to with just your ADN. The good thing about this is that you can do RN to BSN online and still work with your ADN. If you are able to into a ABSN or Entry level program and have it fully financed with scholarships then that it awesome. Many students do end up taking out some sort of graduate loans in Entry Level programs. The good thing is that you get 6 months of deferment, which is a good thing because once you pass your NCLEX you should be able to find a job pretty quickly.

    How did you get the opportunities to volunteer?

    • @ThePurposedNurse
      @ThePurposedNurse  5 лет назад +4

      Many hospitals have a volunteer department! Which ever hospital you are interested in volunteering at just simply search google to see if the hospital has a program or either call the hospital. Ask what are the requirements to volunteer and then just make sure you adhere to the requirements and then you should be good to go!!
