Americans need to realize that compulsory tipping is an American thing due to the lack of respect towards the waiters by the restaurant industry there. I tip should be given when the customer deems it or can afford it...here is a little extra for making us feel comfortable and for going out your way; not here is something because your company lacks the dignity to realize waiters are people and the little money paid can't keep you alive. And I hate when they ask if they leaving a tip...I will give you if I think you should get it. Sad the American society is like this. I see Jamaicans taking up this trend, but the difference is that their take home is not tip dependent.
