If you ever want a cheap eye cream you can buy a travel size moisturizer and put that under your eyes. I did that a few times and I felt fancy and didn’t spend an arm and kidney on an over priced moisturizer.

It’s been about 1.5 yrs since I’ve purchased an eye specific cream thanks to you and others diving into this topic. And since watching that video with Dr Shereene Idriss I’ve used my prescription retinol around my eyes but I use squalene oil instead of Vaseline. I love it. And I use Avene Tinted Mineral Fluid Sunscreen SPF 50+ around my eyes everyday without any issues but I know, not cruelty free. Going to give the supergoop a try! Thanks for keeping us educated!
Yess I love using an extra sunscreen eye cream! I wear winged eyeliner daily and the corners of my eyes get very red and burn. I use the klairs UV essence for my under eyes, lids, and corners to help create a makeup base and prevent dryness from my daily alcohol based eyeliner.

I really love the Murad Anti-aging Moisturizer with SPF 30 PA+++ I have tried so many sunscreens that feel either sticky or greasy, this one feels lovely on the skin. Finally a winner for me.
I actually have always made sure to get foundation with SPF and put it under my eyes and eyelids for uv protection before there was ever an eye cream with SPF. Plus, wearing sunglasses when going outside
I would be concerned about the filters interacting with/destabilising your other sunscreen, personally. Particularly if zinc oxide (especially uncoated zinc) or avobenone are involved!

I bought eye cream once in my life and it didn't change anything. I have been using moisturizer under, over and on the sides of my eyes, and it worked great.
I do the tretinoin thing too for my eyes! I had fine lines under my eyes and I even think it improve the hydration around my eyes too. I also have been using tretinoin on my lips and no longer suffer from chapped lips after going through a period of flakey lips from doing this. Maybe it even helped plump them up a bit too. Moisturizer and petrolatum is your best friend when it comes to dry lips :)
Cass, you know I LOVE the Pacifica vegan ceramide moisturizer, and when I bought that, I actually bought their ceramide eye cream with retinol. I've seen Dr. Dray caution about using retinols too close to the eye, but I tolerate this one really well, and I use it under the eye, on the 'hood' and lid, and all around the orbital socket because I have some weird wrinkles forming at the sides af my brows. I've been using it about 2 months now and seeing an improvement. And the moisturizer leaves my s,in SO smooth...jar is almost empty and I'll be repurchasing soon!
Thank you for stating that the pacifica cream has oats in it. I am severely allergic to oats in cosmetics and I actually ended up in the ER from an allergic reaction from oats in cosmetics.

Nah, Cassandra makes *lots* of little mistakes like that that can definitely make you question yourself when you keep noticing them. There's another one she keeps making where she cites phenoxyethanol as being limited to 2% when it's usually limited to 1% in leave on products, for example. Don't overthink it, you're correct!
I am glad I am not the only one who doesn’t use eye creams j totally agree with you Cass. There is no need for them just use your regular moisturizer all over your face it’s literally the same thing. I have used 2 jars of the Pacifica moisturizer and I love it but it’s still not hydrating enough for me so I am trying to find something different that’s still affordable and will help my dry patchy skin. Ps I have put my sunscreen all over my face even on eyes lol not on my eyeballs and it’s been fine.

I've been using tretinoin 0.1% + pure, cold-pressed sweet almond oil on my undereyes and I really like the result. I might give that tretinoin + petroleum jelly a try next time.

Some of us who are more pale than pale cannot use pigmented products. Can you try to recommend other ones? All your favorites have pigment and it’s literally not an option for us with zero melanin.

I just use my moisturizer under my eyes. Once in a while I’m a bit puffy under my eyes, so I might try to find an eye cream with caffeine, but until then, my regular moisturizer works great.
Oh my I have been putting prescription trerinoin in my under eye area( the strength is 0.01%) I haven’t experienced any irritation. I use the La roche posay eye cream Toleriane Ultra ( because I have milia) and on top the 0.01% stieva-a tretinoin .

I got them after getting an IUD as a precaution because I'm acne prone and the shot that I used before messep up my face for a year. Well I love cerave eye repair cream for my eyes. I have oily skin in general and I cannot have thik moisture on my skin, but my eyes are always dry. Cerave has been great for me I love the result of this eyecream. But Cassandra will say its not vegan etc, which I cant argue, but still won't change my fav brand bcz of this

The ONLY thing that doesn’t irritate my eyes is VASELINE! My eyelids get very dry and even flaky sometimes! Eye creams typically irritate it more

Love Pacifica! I use their cleanser and moisturizer. Ceremides are healing for sure, that’s why I use Cereve healing ointment for eyes on occasion.

I put bakuchiol serum on reusable gel eye pads and then go in with Vaseline mixed with vitamin E before bed
