    You can tell when a show or movie is made by a group of men who are angry at the world and themselves, you can tell when a show or movie is made by a group of women who are angry at the world and themselves too.
    She Hulk wasn't made for men OR women, it was made with hatred for both.

    • @mangamandrew

      @@ScottCleve33 Okay, being always angry is not the same as controlling your anger. And even if we consider the point of personality differences, the hulk personality is fueled by emotions and only comes out when his life is threatened. Sure, personality may play a part but this could still mean that Bruce does not have full control of his emotions.

    • @ScottCleve33
      @ScottCleve33 Год назад

      @@mangamandrew When he said that he's always angry was saying that he's able to control that anger. He turns green when either he let's the anger take control or when he's no longer able to control his anger.
      This is why once he turns into the hulk he needs to be calmed down by Natshia. At this point his anger is out of his control and in the control of the hulk.

    • @mangamandrew
      @mangamandrew Год назад

      @@ScottCleve33 I don’t consider letting go of you anger as control or at least complete control. The implication is that you need to have more or less complete control so you don’t bulk out randomly. The point is that he Ben if he has “control,” he can’t keep himself out of the hulk persona.

It validates your point when you can tell positive and negative things about a subject, because it shows that you have considered a broader view of the subject matter.
    Also I like what the one lady said about the 4th wall breaks and Modern Family. I've always wondered why talking to the audience works sometimes and not others. Makes a lot more sense now, why I dislike the 4th wall breaks in She-Hulk.

    honestly this show felt very much like marvel going "what? you'll watch it". i don't doubt that there was genuine love behind the show from the people involved with it but it definitely felt like marvel a) didn't know what kind of show they wanted to be and b) didn't really care about it being good or well-crafted. the tone is all over the place - they seem to both want to be a sitcom within the marvel universe (which is the direction they should have gone with, in my opinion) and a poignant social commentary (which is where it fell flat more often than not) and ultimately failed at being either. i haven't been able to put my finger on why i don't really enjoy the show in spite of being a huge fan of tatiana from her orphan black days and generally enjoying the main characters and it's not even as if i hate the show. i just feel like it's capable of more but no one involved with getting it made cared about it reaching the potential it held.

    I could forgive it if:
    1. They didn't make almost every male character incompetent or an asshole

    3. If the writer actually knew about She-Hulk

    • @mangamandrew

      1.I don’t think they make almost every male character incompetent or an asshole. There was like only one incompetent male and the males who are assholes are literally evil.
      2. She is not comparing he entire life with how Bruce went through but that she as a women had better control over her anger than Bruce does which is not as far fetched as you may think. She is not saying that she is better than Bruce but that she can cotrol her anger better which is more likely the case because how Bruce can’t willing transform in an out of the Hulk form at will.
      3. And I would say the writers know about she-hulk but that the she-hulk in the show won’t and can’t be a one for one like the she hulk in the comics for one season.

    • @HeavyMetalJesus02
      @HeavyMetalJesus02 Год назад +4

      @Manga Man Drew 1. Wong was absolutely incompetent as the sorcerer supreme because the sorcerer supreme handles the mystical threats to the universe, and he chose literally the most physical foe he could find besides Hulk and brought him to a crowded area of people even though Abomination could have raged out and killed everyone in the arena, and didn't even consider he was breaking someone out of prison. Then by the last episode still does not care that he broke Abomination out of prison.
      2. Definitely not true by the last episode. For someone who could control her anger she assaulted Wrecker when he was absolutely no threat to her, and had assaulted people that were no threat to her.
      3. Gao has admitted to never reading a She-Hulk comic. Maybe one or two writers in the room have read a comic or two, but their 'expertise' were not taken into account. She will never be the She-Hulk in the comics because that would require character development and to humble the character in some way. She's an insecure narcissist and in no way heroic, it would be a complete rewrite to make Jen even mildly similar to her comic version

    I actually enjoy the divergence from the typical Marvel show or movie. I want to see a superhero legal drama. I know everyone isn’t a fan of this phase but we’re still setting up the groundwork for more things, it’s hard when your original cast’s characters are dead or some else took over the mantle. I’m so glad something fun like She Hulk happened to the MCU but I wish it had 3 more episodes for character development for Titania and other characters but other than that, I absolutely ADORED it! I loved Jen so much and I think she’s the most relatable character for femme people. Props to the writing team for trying to make something new and keep it fresh!

      @@mangamandrew Well in the comics Jenifer Walters was unlike her cousin was happier albeit cause she can control it. It was funny to see her sleep around cause yeah Jen was like a female Tony stark but less ego and more laid back. One thing it missed was the fact to actually react and address the absurdity that would be the marvel universe's' laws since she lives in the world of the supernatural since it was supposed to be a comedy. Overall I wasn't too happy with the male bashing it was funny to an extent but now it seems like it was going out of its way to annoy people. And the ending was bad if you allow yourself to acknowledge internet trolls then it shows them they have power encouraging them to keep doing it. Also this she-hulk character wise was weak

      @mangamandrew Год назад

      @@doomcool7960 I would say tha it does address some things f the absurdity of the marvel universe it not to the same extent. And the series was not male bashing but bashing on horrible men. There were many men still ch as Pug and even Abomination that were being genuine good men. And I thought the ending was at the very least different than most marvel endings. Sure, recognizing their existence can encourage them more but ignoring them completely is not a good thing. At the very least, the show brings attention to who those kind of people are and in a way let’s people know what they do and how to avoid them.

    31:53 Men do not slap each on the ass. At least not in public outside of sporting events and i don't even know if they still do that. Women on the other hand not only slap eaches others asses but they also kiss each other, twerk on each other, grab each others ass and boobs, etc. Now there are two reasons this is a problem. One, if a straight man does any of those things I said to another straight man, he'd get called gay and/or punched in the face. Two, while most people can agree a guy grabbing a girls ass was never appropriate, it wasn't really something people made a huge deal of like they do today. The girl would probably get upset (probably because in the 50s, 60s, and 70s they didn't care), so would her bf and maybe brother but that's it. Nowadays EVERYBODY has a problem with that but won't say anything if a girl does the same thing to a guy or acts inappropriately by humping him. Admittedly I usely see that in TikTok videos but that doesn't change the fact that it's just as wrong if a guy does it to her, yet nobody cares because guys did it to women for so long it's only fair they do it now, which is dumb double standard logic.

    I think something people overlooked about She Hulk is the very first episode makes it clear it's not going to be a "superhero show". It's a lawyer comedy with superhero elements. Maybe the show didn't achieve that balance like they hoped, but I never saw it as that.
    Also one of them hit the nail of the head about he roles being flipped on how the female characters seemed deeper than the males. It was so subtle that I didn't realize it until she said it.
    Also one other said what I was thinking about the twerk scene. I thought it was a way for her try accepting herself as She Hulk in that form.

      The problem i personally have with the show is not that it's not meant to be a super hero show. It's the fact that it fails at being what it is meant to be. It's supposed to be a legal comedy, but the legal stories aren't really the core of the show, they are almost a secondary background element. It's supposed to be a sitcom, but the humor isn't paced like a sitcom. And it's not nearly as funny as most comedy shows i've seen. I've even seen sitcoms with humor i didn't like, that i felt were funnier...
      The flipping the riles part i kind of disagree with... They didn't flip the roles of portraying women as stereotypical caricatures and men as deep characters. They just portrayed everyone as stereotypical caricatures...
