    It’s cool to learn about some mammal paleontology. I don’t think the time from the last dinosaurs to the ice age gets enough coverage from RUclips channels. Would be cool to see animalogic look into that 👍🏻

    Imagine disappearing for 10 million years only to make the ultimate come back. I bet cats had a small body size during this time and didn't fossilize very well. These early relatives were in a perfect position to replace the previous carnivores with more modern cats that would increase in size and sensory complexity.

      It's a larger scale equivalent of a new cat hiding and then coming out like nothing happened after you spent 10hours looking for it and had several panic attacks believing it had run away.😂

    I think it's crazy that cats haven't hugely changed. I mean that really just looks like a normal cat with some cool markings. It's just like they were set up for survival anywhere since their creation it's crazy

    I'd love to see a tarantula video! There are SO many extant tarantula species on every continent except Antarctica, some of which are endangered in the wild, but thriving in the captive breeding hobby. They come in so many sizes, colors and shapes and are absolutely fascinating creatures.

    Excellent work on the Proailurus, the progenitor of all cat kind my friend! Please continue more on other prehistoric animals for your channel. And my favorite cats are the leopard, the snow leopard, cougar and my most favorite domestic cat: the Savannah (Hybrid of both Serval and a domestic shorthair cat).

    i would love to learn more about the civet! they are one of my favorite animals and there isnt much content on RUclips about them! Awareness about the abuse in making civet coffee is also really important as well!

      There is artificial Kopi luwak too, so we don't need civets for it: the coffee berries get treated with the same types of enzymes and the like that would affect them in a civet digestive system.

    Love the idea that the Cat Gap could be explained by some aliens that decided to start keeping cats as pets 🛸 Just scooped up the whole planet's supply and whisked them off for some intergalactic prehistoric cat adventures.

      Until then here's some facts.
      No other animal can out leap it. 15-18 ft. vertical leaps from a standstill. Holds the world record for having the most names. Has the most diverse vocalizations of all wildcats. Can procreate up to 60 times an hour. Often mistaken for "skinwalkers" and are included in numerous native American legends and folklore. My spirit animal.

    Watching the clouded leopard easily navigate through the tree tops is amazing to see , and a joy to behold . It's so very easy for them to live up there

    Dogs
    Horses
    Rabbits, Hamsters, and other rodents might be in the same video depending on how closely related they are.

    Watched this with my on cat sleeping in my lap the entire time, and even though these ancient kitties do sound pretty cool-- I think I'll stick to the kind of cuddly weirdo who has spent the past ~5 hours drooling on me and kicking in his sleep.

    Felids undergoing a major radiation just 8 million years helps explain why modern cats all have similar ot identical chromosome counts. Leopards and Pumas are on opposite ends of the modern Felidae tree but can still crossbreed.
