Getting to Pitt River hot springs is kinda like an adventure triathlon: you paddle a canoe, then bike, then swim (if you count soaking) in the hot spring. It is challenging to get to, but absolutely worth all the effort. Here is the video of our experience.
Thanks for watching!

that's how a hot springs should be. remote and undeveloped.
100%
in British Columbia MOST of the hot springs are undeveloped, but were homesteaded years ago by locals, loggers, and/or Hydro. The deeper into the bush, the better experience and the more interesting the people you meet. Also, kept clean by most. You wont see the mountains of garbage you see at the USA springs.
Well, there's concrete, campsites, ropes, a road, trails, etc. but yeah, "undeveloped" :)
@@JosiahRoe there’s no actual campsites there. The road is strictly logging road that goes from logging areas to lake no way to drive in. Thanks to people yes concrete was used to create the perfect hot tubs. Can’t remember who did the work ,but in order to do that definitely not an easy job.
@mark o Shout out to those people, because without the concrete there would be no hot spring pools to soak in
Not too many things better than having a well behaved dog that can go on adventures with you. A Partner In Crime till death do us part. Thanks for sharing this adventure!
Imagine going to a hot spring...and then finding some dudes had brought a dog with them to chill with you. Amazing.
With beer
That would be so cool😍
pretty unexpected
3rd gen 4runner, Mountain bikes and a canoe, youre speaking my language. Sweet video.
I second your response KB. Epic adventure! Neda certainly seemed to enjoy the fun as well. This one is on my "explore it" list now. I hope I get there someday.
Thanks KB! I love combining all these things to experience our backyard!
@@lifeofluke I have 2 channels, 1 for toyota content and 1 for mountain biking. Cheers dude.
So jealous
Oh yeah
Every frame of this video looks like a desktop wallpaper
Yes I tried to screenshot to put on my pc wallpaper XD
I spent a summer/fall up there in the 70's with the International Pacific Salmon Commission. I stayed at the hatchery for a few days but couldn't stand the cooks grub. I got sent to the logging camp (Alvin) where the food was a waaay lot better. The Postmistress of Alvin and her husband ran a speakeasy where we spent most nights. It was as well stocked and entertaining as any pub in town. We saw Grizzly, Beaver, Coyote, Cougar, Black Bear and lots and lots of Sockeye Salmon. We were on the river every day and it was one of the best experiences of my life. We never got to go in the hot springs however, because we were working every day. Thanks for the trip back, I would love to make it up there again one day.
Dog has a heart on his nose ❤️
I thought I was the only one who seen that on the dog and on me to connect the dots .
You’re gonna hate me for this, but I went to those springs by jet ski, twice! Once in a group of three and solo a month later. Mad respect for you to canoe this lake, as it can get real rough in a hurry!
Thanks for bringing me back!

Sooo dope
How long did it take
Appreciate you setting up the camera and paddling away for us to see the perspective. RIP shoulders.
haha, thanks for watching!
I love B.C. so much.... Literally has EVERYTHING. It's the mot beautiful place on earth; people and landscape.
I’m from Nova Scotia and have never made it that far west before, I’d really love to.
@@Hal-ef1je the people are kinda gross. Homeless encampments everywhere and a serious drug problem. All the good people left when communist china regentrified an already beautiful city. It's unusual to run into a Canadian in b.c. usually it's some wealthy migrant trying to exploit the place. Also the few Canadians u do meet are all trust fund kids from Toronto and Quebec. I think bc is a perfect example of multiculturalism failing and it's destroying the beautiful nature that makes bc so great.
@@jarastafaria3088 Thanks for the intel but I’d probably be steering clear of the cities, I’d love to go on a hunting or fishing trip up there sometime in the near future.
The place is amazing. The people are fine. I hear the East Coast folks are much more friendly
@@jarastafaria3088 Which province and city doesn't have homeless encampment and drug problems? The fact that B.C.'s fair weather plays a big factor and an ideal place for homeless to encamp. Can you picture homeless people in Toronto, Quebec, Winnipeg during winter season? Also when you say unusual to run into a Canadian, you mean Caucasian? The fact that B.C. is a multicultural city is what makes it unique and beautiful. Having to experience different types of ethnic foods and cultures is what separates us from other provinces. There's plenty of Canadians everywhere you go, I'm sorry that they're not all white people as you prefer. B.C. is thriving and definitely not a failure when it comes to multiculturalism. You seem to have a problem with Asian take over, don't blame them. If you want to point fingers, perhaps Canada immigration may help explain to you what our role as a country in taking in the number of immigrants entering the country. It's similar in Toronto, Quebec, Montreal and Calgary.
Did this trip myself this summer because of this video, exactly same ways of travel, and it was a journey and a half.
Ya Oliver, I'm glad you got to experience it! The video really doesn't capture how much effort is required to do this kind of trip
How do I get to this beautiful place???? Please
The hot springs looked beautiful! I love that you bring Nina along for your adventures 😀
That’s one lucky dog; free to run and explore with 2 wonderful guys. 👍
7:06 The host springs is so beautiful with the light reflecting on the water and the moss covered rocks and the full moon.
Color of that water is unreal. Beautiful
This is so amazing! Thank you for sharing. This is totally the way to live!
Thank you!!
Spent most of my childhood at the head of the Pitt. Family owns cabins in this area.
Is there any truth to the comments online that the area is being "shut-down", i.e. no jet boats, "netting on the bridge to stop helicopters", "land owner blocking hot springs off due to liability"?
6:43 Now that's a vibe
Thumbs up 👍 for that dog
One hot springs I always wanted to go to when i lived in BC. That looks amazing.
Awesome to see my hometown. So beautiful even in the clouds!
Ya it definitely is beautiful, Kelsey!
The amount of likes on this video is criminal, your videos are so well shot and you deserve to be a much bigger channel
Thanks Lucas!
Indeed
The cute dog has my heart, I mean how chill she is🥺🐶❤️. Living the best life🥰.
Thanks Rick!
Holy moly that looked magical 😍🥺
In a word. Stunning.
Thanks Michael!
👍😁that lil girl dogs gotta be havin the time of her life! what a great trip for her to experience!
For sure, she loves coming along on these adventures!
Some absolutely amazing shots in this video man! It really shows how hard you worked and you do it all with a smile, absolutely wonderful.
I appreciate you noticing that, thanks Sam!
The dog makes it worth it...thats some adventure..thanks guys
Dogs destroy hotsprings. Not cool.
@@jarastafaria3088 🙄 how do dogs destroy hot springs? lol wtf
@@robbarber7253 hot springs don't ever freeze and dogs shit and piss everywhere. the bacteria grows and eventually they become biohazards and need to be shut down from public use for an amount of time before they become safe to use. Have u ever left a hot spring feeling really sick, that's usually the reason.
Lived there for many yrs serious Sasquatch country
Yup. Many stories from that area.
My dad and I did this trip a few years ago, thanks for the memory flashback!
Awesome, thanks Alecia!
🥺 such a beautiful movie
This is breathtakingly beautiful. Love Pitt Lake
thanks, Pitt lake is incredible
This showed up in my feed and I’m so glad it did. What an amazing trip. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Keith!
One of my Absolute Fave hot springs I've been to! ❤
Great video, I worked for fisheries up there for 6 or 7 years starting in the early 90's, brings back alot of memories, I've explored that river and every small creek flowing into it looking for salmon. Cheers!
What an awesome adventure, thank you so much for sharing! Love the scenery and details you've included, and even enjoying the hot springs as they ought to be enjoyed!
Definitely adding this to the trip list
what a fun video guys! so rad to see the multisport element getting after it.
Thanks Cleg!
Oh how awesome!
Thank you for sharing your adventures. I am retired and had hoped to do a fraction of what you accomplished on this trip, but due to a health issue I am unable to walk more than a short distance. Seeing places in BC like this allows me to enjoy sights I would otherwise miss. Cheers!
I'm sorry to hear that, although glad my videos can help vicariously in a small way!
Beautiful video! Excited to watch the others.
Thanks Cindy!
I almost watch the entire weekend your videos. Thanks for sharing♥️
Thanks!
Great video, great videography. Thanks for sharing your passion.
Thanks Andy!
Amazing! Bucket list item for sure!
I didn't see anything but kindness and peace in your video. The three of you have a rad bond. The perfect way to live life.
This is the most chill video I’ve ever seen
Is that a cat in pfp
Man that was a beautiful video.
Thanks!
all the vibes, thanks!
Very cool, was up there in the early 80’s, I remember the old “Alvin” post office site. The Hot springs is essentially the same but way more popular. You got balls canoeing up the Pitt. Kudos
I hope to this one in September. The bikes were such a good idea too. Now just need a friend with a canoe
so Nice this is what Life is about
Absolutely! Thanks Allen!
Because it is remote, it's so enjoyable with pure nature
One of the best videos i’ve seen in a while ... right on 👍🏼
Thanks Sasha!
What a beautiful spot
another good one Luke!! And congrats to Nina the wonder dog ... that long ride in the canoe and then to run/walk to the hot springs trail, through the woods to your camp & the springs ... and then do it in reverse the next day ... amazing!! Quite the canine companion Luke!
Thanks Kevin, to bring her along to places like this, is the exact reason why I got her!
This video is pure peace
IT LOOKED LIKE MY KIND OF THING.
I FELT SORRY FOR THE POOCH AT FIRST, 21K IS A LONG WAY
BUT SHE LOOKED SO CHILLED & RELAXED IN THE CANOE ON THE WAY BACK,
IT JUST SOLD ME THAT SHE WAS MORE THAN OK & HAPPY TO GO ON LONG RUNS WITH HER DAD.
I HOPE SHE’S DOING OK. ✌🏼🙂 🇬🇧
Nina is doing great, and she loves coming along on every adventure, her stamina is incredibly long because she is a working dog. Thanks for your concern. BTW your caps lock seems to be stuck on.
Your buddy is hilarious 😂 great team and doggo you’ve got there!
Surreal.. thank you for sharing this magical experience
Been to the hot springs twice. Amazing back then too but no one tenting in those days. Spent a lot of time on Pitt Lake and river in the mid 80's & much of the 90's. In-Laws bought the old town of Alvin. Now a fishing lodge. Lost 4 friends in the lake. Never did find them. I have lots of respect for that Lake as it can get nasty real quick. Well done canoeing the entire lake to the log dump, then biking to the hot springs. There used to be a fish hatchery up there as well. Loved that whole place. Very wild. I always felt Pitt Lake was so far away but yet so close. I see all the vehicles parked up at the head in your vid. it looks very busy up there these days. Even 2 years ago.
Shallow lakes are actually more dangerous than the ocean. You can predict ocean swells. Lakes can change in moments, wind direction, weather impact.
What an experience you had 🤯just wow 🙌🏻
Guys, you are crazy. Thumb up.
loved this. big props for the shot near the end where you paddled past the rock. I can just imagine heading back then saying let's stop there set up a camera then loop back and paddle past it just to loop back again to get the Camera 👍
Thanks Jordan! Ya it is a lot of extra work to get those shots, but I look at it as more time to take in the moment and appreciate it!
That area looks beautiful. I like how you didn't go the more "expensive" route. Shows that you don't need a lot of money to still explore.
Exactly the message I'd like to get across!
To he fair all his gear, bikes, truck etc isn't exactly cheap
FANTASTIC! Thanks for sharing!
that dog is super cute!
Glad you guys didn't encounter heavy winds on that lake. You'd have gone in. But you guys look like you know what you are doing. And you said it was shallow. Where I live people die every year. Good times.
Such a cute doggo!
I was in the right place at the right time and I got to go there by helicopter in the winter. Crazy amazing!
This reminds me of the central mountain range in Cuba. I'll have to visit Pitt lake
Thanks for uploading this I know where I'm going this summer.
Beautiful cinematography!!!
Thanks Simon!
Love these multi-sport adventures! Keeping rocking it gentlemen!
Man!!! That's paradise!!!!
Beautiful...just beautiful
Respect dude . I love your experiences . Damn RUclips , it’s a pity their algorithm doesn’t allow much coverage to your videos . I am in Maple ridge and I am going to try this one .
How did it go? I'm trying to get my dudes on board for this one and want to know what skill/strength level is needed for the water portion. We are all skilled mountain and endurance bikers but not all of us are familiar with canoeing.
did either of you bang it out?
Shit yeah I love learning about these locations in BC!
this dog is living his best life
That was some gangster ass shit. Thank you.
Haha, thanks!
Thanks for sharing that! I'd love to experience those hot springs 😍 😋
Amazing adventure guys! Great work. Must have been sore the next day!
Stunningly Beautiful! Awesome work Luke!
Thank you Kaining!
I lived in maple ridge for almost 30 years. Never went up there. Yeesh. Now that i'm not there anymore I really want to go to the springs :P
Hi guys, great fun video, just done this trip this weekend for the second time. You guys lucked out with the wind. First year we went it was scary rough, thought we may get swamped as the swells were so deep, on the way up we made it in 4hrs and return in 4.5hrs. This time rough conditions again, 5.5 up and 7 down.....lake was so low we walked about a kilometer across the flats, lol
The little town of Alvin is so cool and the scenery is stunning all the way. Thanks for sharing
This is first time I'm watching ur vlog....& u just showed me amazing mountain rivers hot springs almost everything one searching for natural beauty....
Thanks Akshay
Great vid did know if up to now but love your trip
Great Vid Brother👍
thanks bro!
Great shots! That doggi is precious!
Looks like a rough ride on that road bike in the mountains... lol
Great video. Thanks!
Thanks Rusty!
I grew up on that lake but never got the chance to make it to the springs,
Sweet video and appreciate your explorations very much so.
Cheers
Thanks Eric!
Wow that is beautiful. Makes me want to go too.
Beautiful trip. Your dog is living her best life for sure. Dont you lock up a canoe somehow?
I was gonna write a comment saying that this is the most incredible thing i have ever seen on the donut shaped lake video but this is unreal. That camping spot and the journey to get there is tooo hard to believe! Loved this channel 😍
Magical
Went here last fall with my friends and we had the hot springs by ourselves. alot of my followers been asking me where is this but its better to keep it as a secret since we did a research finding this gem!
"Pork chop in a can"
