- Hi all,
Today I was really excited to set up my Mr Aqua Baby Bookshelf aquarium.
This aquarium is modern, clean, high quality and unique, however it is not without its drawbacks.
Huge thankyou goes out to David Lo at Nano Tanks Australia for providing a great care package which went in to making this video happen.

Sweet setup
There’s something so charming about the bookshelf tanks. Can’t wait to see what you stock it with
I have two, a three and a twelve gallon, and I'm still not satisfied, I've got jade shrimp in the small one, and still diddling about with the large (thinking betta persephone and kubotais)
I just got the 36" Mr Aqua about a month ago and I Absolutely LOVE it! Very high quality tank. I've got a school of Glowlight Danio that just love to zoom around in it. Was able to Very densely plant it with Crypts and moss's on Cholla, anubias & Spider wood; which the Blue Dream shrimp love. Also put my male endlers in there, and blue Ramshorns. It's amazing how much you can do with it. I put a Marina slim on the shortside and it provides a nice flow. IN LOVE w/this tank.
I have the 36 inch as well, so keen to put it together but cant make my mind up 🤣
I got the AquaTop 12 Gallon Long, the Lid is sold out and although it's .4 inches shorter in height...it makes for it with the width vs the Mr. Aqua and AquaMaxx
I'm a big fan of odd shaped tanks! Thanks Blake!
I've never done this dry method for my planted tanks.. it'll be interesting to watch its progress :-)
Subscribed! You talk clearly man, I love your Plant reviews more than anything.
That tank is going to be super beautiful when it all grows in! Maybe I'll try dry start someday, though I'm not sure I'm patient enough for it, lol. Thanks for the video! 🙂
Definitely the go if you have time 👍
If you had started when you left your comment, your dry start would be wet by filled in and wet by now. It’s never too late to start!
Thank you Blake , great video , and exactly what I was looking to do myself.
Very helpful , great job.
And ....their`e out of stock Lol.......
Hahaha must just he coincidence if thats the case 😄
isopod display tank... just take to glass specialist and have them drill some cross ventilation holes
Can’t wait for an update on this tank! Nice vid Blake!
Thanks 👍
Love this size tank, thanks for sharing.
Tank saya juga segitu mantap brow saya suka vidio kamu🙏
Im gonna buy the tide line bookshelf 39L 11 H 11 W. It’s just gonna be driftwood moss and shrimp
Nice work, should look good! Seems like a good size to keep messing about with and try new things
Great stuff man appreciate the work🤙
Appreciate it!
Nice and simple scape love it, and glad your doing the dry start method, can't wait to see this one in a couple of months 👌
Great looking tank mate. I reckon your awesome aqua scaping. Be awesome to see this tank in a few week to see the growth! Thanks for the video
Cheers Ed, just learning like everyone else 😄
Interesting to see the different heater & filter brand. Look forward to the review :)
I’d really love to see a video on Darwin algae eating shrimp. There’s almost nothing out there, but they seem like our aust option to amamo shrimp. An addition to the NTA tank? They seem to sell them :)
Ive kept NQ algae shrimp before which i think are similar. They only eat some types of algae, not nearly as many as amano shrimp either. Overall a cool and hardy shrimp but not an all in one fix
Very cool tank, would be nice for shrimp. Can't wait to see it in a few weeks.
Keep up the great content.
👍👍👍
That tank is amazing!! I must have it!!!!!! ❤️❤️
This is gonna be a great vid!
I’ve always wanted a bookshelf tank, nice scape bro. 🌿
Thanks mate 👍
That would make a great shrimp tank
these type of tanks lend themselves to a river bank style then rectangle/cube tanks. From a jungle to mountain stream scapes.
I have the 6.5 gallon Aquatop bookshelf tank. My struggle is with how narrow it is and being able to aquascape it without it getting too cluttered.
@@alyssa0411 I have the same. I'm going for a figure 8 track for the fish, with two islands on either side.
Hi Blake what filter did ypu put in this baby bookshelf?
I just picked up one of these tanks from Dave at nano tanks.
I was thinking the pat mini or a small sponge or even small corner box filter.
Thoughts??
Hey mate I did put a pat mini filter in mine and later switched to the smallest sponge filter just for power reasons. Both worked well
@@BlakesAquatics how was the sponge filter
@@BlakesAquatics power as in flow or power consumption?
@@madhatterjones4781 power as in having to have something plugged in vs my central air loop.
Sponge filter was fine but i did have it behind the rocks so it wasnt as good at circulating the water
I love your channel and you earn more subs
What is the exact dimension of the tank ?
I set up a new tank a while ago and put dwarf hairgrass inthere. 3 months later I added 2 roseline barbs and the pricks tore it all up. Now they have a barebottom tank and they are for sale... jerks 😑
😱 oh no!
Hi Blake would this tank be okay for shellies?
Its a bit small id say
Hi Blake been watching you for ages. I’m from the uk and love watching you, your video are mint but just think you need to update your intro brother
The intro is fairly new?
@@BlakesAquatics just make it abit more modern mate
@@Choppper ill have a think about what i can do 🤔
When will you add the arowana.😁😁😂😂
🤣
Any idea where to purchase these tanks from mate?
Hey mate, nano tanks australia just got some more in, worth asking if theyll ship
Hey Blake, do you know if any stores would ship this tank to Adelaide? I can't find it anywhere down here and the websites all say pickup only. Cheers dude.
Yeah nano tanks aus ship them I believe 👍
@@BlakesAquatics cool thank you 👍
Nano tanks says pick up only. I guess you got special treatment 😁 I might give them a call and see if I can negotiate something.
@@KJSully92 i ordered one of the first when they released them. Maybe they had a few too many arriving broken because i ordered 3 initially and 2 were replaced because of that.
@@BlakesAquatics Yea I've noticed most places won't ship glass tanks anymore. Totally understandable. Might just end up getting one custom made somewhere local.
What's the dimensions of the tank?
60cm(L)*17cm(W)*24cm(H)
I'd love this tank if it was just a little bit larger.
Yeah the 3 foot gives a bit more flexibility in that sense
