- The third in a series of classic FA Cup matches. This episode features Tranmere taking on Premier League giants Everton and immediately from the off, it was obvious that John Aldridge's men wanted the win far more than the Toffees as they were pushed aside in a 3-0 mauling.

As a Tranmere fan, I just had a very strong that feeling the season, that we would meet Everton and beat them! I was not suprised when we drew them, as I just knew we would win,
I could not get a ticket with the Tranmere fans, so I went to Goodison Park and got two tickets.
We were in the upper Bullens Rd stand ... We were next to our Tranmere fans, I asked a steward "We are Tranmere Fans, could we join them please" he said NO
We went Mad when we scored ... and again when we scored again! the steward said You Need to Move Over There! It was great to celebrate our third goal in with our own fans ... I remember shouting on the final whistle "This was our Finest Hour"
And the Southampton game and we gave Liverpool a game too ...
I learned a very harsh lesson that season; Tranmere Rovers had been in The Championship (we got there in 1991) for TEN YEARS yet we got relegated that season ... We lost our focus of staying in the Championship and stepped up In The Cup Competitions! On reflection I would have forgone all those Cup Wins if we could have stayed in The Championship. As from that point I have Always Said "League Points Are The Only Focus!"
