I would love to see KISS do more obscure songs on their last tour rather than the same old tired songs. I’d love to hear “Watching You “, “Almost Human”, Mr.Blackwell” and so on. This is awesome to see Ace do “Two Sides Of A Coin” and “Save Your Love”.
The GS band is even more killer with Ace. I am loving the Ace vibe on this cruise and classic cuts like pulling out Getaway. This backing band is awesome. One of my favs from Dynasty.
The quality of Ace's voice seems to hinge upon his mood. If he's happy he sings better than when he's stressed. Ace himself stated that his time on the KISS Kruise was not a happy one. Still...his voice is better than Paul's has become.
He shouldn't be singing then. He should hire a proper singer and concentrate on what he does best - playing the damn guitar. I can't believe all the excuses you KISStards make for these guys. I am a major KISS fan but I don't bullshit myself.
Keep in mind...this is a phone recording in the middle of the ocean. I think if you were there it would've sounded much better, or if you could hear everything mixed together. I love that he's trying to give fans something new. I give ACE a ton of credit for being there for fans now. Also...Gene and Paul NEVER NEVER NEVER remember ANYTHING unless its rehearsed and put into a set list. Give Ace some time to remember and rehearse this stuff and I but it'll be great!
@@RnRDS I actually think he did rehearse...probably quite a bit. Ace is also the first guy to tell you he i the laziest dude in the world. So he probably learned it just enough to get through it. What's sad is he is almost there. If he plays it a few more times and corrects the solo...it's a must add to his regular set list!
Frehley had PLENTY of time to practice, learn & rehearse his material between the time he was booked for this cruise, and the date of the performance. He just didn't bother, because he's too lazy.

I didnt mean it was Easy to play it. Especially playing while doing lead vocal just was saying the attempt was great after only rehearsing with these guys for a very short period of time. Sounding good to me. Ace will get better at singing it if he keeps doing it beyond this KI⚡⚡cruise

Breando he who is “the man” is typically considered “the frontman”. Yes, these songs are almost 40 years old- but he chose to do a set heavy with classics he’d never done live before. One would assume there had to be rehearsals as evidenced by the fact that the backing band knew the song front to back. Check the other videos from Ace’s show.... backing band on spot for every song. Ace was forgetting lyrics (even with a Teleprompter) and having problems with his guitar solos. He’s used the excuses of “I was tired”, “i had a cold,” “I’m a little tone deaf as I get older from all this loud music” and “the lyrics were scrolling over on the wrong teleprompter” (as he points to his left). I love Ace and he’s done some great shit on his own, but the frontman fell flat this night.
John Barrell I didn’t say it wasn’t bad, I said that he’s not a frontman because the band is his backing band that he’s paying, they are not a band in their own right who pick their frontman, they are hired guns. I agree with you on all other points though, Ace fucked up.

I wish he would’ve played the right solo. It’s one of my favorite solos ever. I play that solo note for note. I just wish you would’ve put some effort in to relearning it. It’s all good, though he still a legitimate rockstar.!
54 guitarists in the band and they're only allowed the basic chords. Ace doesn't take advantage of them to focus on the singing. Wouldn't be surprised if Ace had a bass too.

Ace was top of his game in 1979, his contribution to Dynasty was fantastic, songs and overall playing.

I get your point but he should have rehearsed this (and Getaway) before a public appearance of this level. To me this is far below his standards.
