      Your 100 concepts light cap bungee is strapped around the wrong side of the light. You want the bungee to be opposite of the way you push off the cap, not wrapped to the same side. A LOT of people wrap it incorrectly including on the 100 concepts RUclips light cap setup video.

    Practically every part you are mentioning from muzzle to barrels to optics is exactly what I recommend to my friends when they ask for recommendations. Even the little things like 7075 on a Milspec charging handle, and philosophy of use, when it comes to bang for the buck quality parts on top of the curve right before the diminishing return takes a dive you are nailing it. My home defense build serves a dual purpose as also being the gun that my wife trains with, it’s a lightweight 13.9 mostly BCM with a Hansen barrel, same exact malkoff light wearing a simple red dot.

    I definitely agree with thinking about the end user when we're assembling rifles. I've seen too many builds where someone's friend or family member can barely understand the end product, let alone shoot it comfortably and enjoy themselves in the process. Something as simple as where we put a tape switch can completely change how the shooter approaches using the rifle, and that can really matter if they want it to be a self defense tool.

    I agree, I like the longer barrels I have but I have mid-length as well. Although, not sure I agree with the logic that smaller guys might prefer shorter barrels due to their size. Before the M4 became standard infantry issue in the Marine Corps, everyone was issued the full length 20 inch. A lot of people want the shorter ARs because they think it's the cool elite operator thing to do. I cringe, not hate, I respect people can do what they want, but when gun tubers main SHTF (in a SHTF across the country kinda way) rifle is 12.5?! I don't get that. A lot of people are impressed because they've shot short ARs out to 800 and think the lethality is there. Reach and effectiveness on target are not the same thing. I want my shot to be potent and not tickle like a daisy red ryder BB gun (more like a 22LR) once it gets there.

    • @wingatesolutions
      @wingatesolutions  7 месяцев назад +1

      I understand what you are saying. My reason for understanding why smaller guys like shorter rifles is more for them being handier for them and easier to manipulate. Shorter guns are definitely less effective at distance but may be more effective than a big chunky gun for a smaller dude. Its all relative.

    I have watched this and your spr video 3 times each now. very informative and glad you are putting great content out. Curious what reticle you are running on your PA optics? Second would like to see you do a video on what your do it all set up would be between the GPR and SPR builds and share your preference if you could only have one based on individual variables. I’m curious based on your spr transition video if you are comfortable enough with the “weakness” in close quarters engagements using more magnification or vice Versa with the Lpvo “weakness” in longer engagements.

    • @wingatesolutions
      @wingatesolutions  8 месяцев назад +1

      Awesome, thank you! For reticles, I am runnimg the ACSS Raptor BDC reticles. They compromise precision being a bdc and not a mil- based riticle but I like the consistency between my different magnified optics. The only big differences between my GPR and SPRs are the optics and the suppressors. Its a coin toss for which I prefer for the same reasons you mentioned. Thanks for the comment and I hope I answered your questions. I can get more into this in an upcoming video 🤙

    What are your thoughts on a 16 in vs 20 in barrel. I ask because I want to go back to a 20 in "do it all" GPR set up. The issue is that I'm having a hard time finding the 20 in barrel I want. However, I can find plenty of 16 in barrel options in stock. My preference is 20 in. for a myriad of personal reasons. Most of those reasons are centered around ballistics, and ease of wear on parts with the rifle length gas system.. Should I just hold out for the 20 in barrel I'm looking for or give in and suffice with a 16 in barrel. I don't think I would be losing too much with the 16 in. but my OCD really wants a 20 in. My thoughts are on a Cold hammer forged barrel with a fixed front sight post. My aim is on longevity and durability. More of a Service Rifle mindset. A rifle that is going to last and do everything fairly well as opposed to a high level of accuracy...... When UPS and warranties are no longer an option.

    • @wingatesolutions
      @wingatesolutions  7 месяцев назад +1

      If you really want the 20", I would go that route. Especially if not suppressed. Or consider an 18" rifle length. Not too much of a velocity loss stepping down to 18".

      @wingatesolutions  8 месяцев назад +2

      Thanks! I love the microprisms. I have not messed with adding a magnifier to one but some people like that. Another nice option would be to step up to the 3x or 5x MP and run a side dot ( I wish thier top dot mount for those was more reliable). Or get into the lpvo game🤙

    • @mtnbound2764
      @mtnbound2764 8 месяцев назад +2

      @@wingatesolutions lol i have most of that stuff already. I have a decent LPVO, but its just so dang large and heavy compared to the RDS/ micro prisms. while the capability of an LPVO is clear, it makes an othewise light and handy carbine top heavy and adds a ton of bulk. Ive never liked FTS magnifiers, just a personal thing. the 3x Micro prism is amazing from 50-350 or so, but its not as good up close. I might look into the 3x and a rail mounted 45 offset RDS.

    Fuckin ironic, a lot of the components you choose are the same as mine. CMT, Damage Industries, BRT, MBT Trigger, YHM. Excellent choices on component to save costs, stretch the dollar, and not sacrifice quality.
