Both Randy Meisner and Timothy B. Schmit used to be members of Poco before leaving for the Eagles.
Growing up, this was one of my go to songs for harmony practice!! Picture it ... Roller rink, couples skate... Bliss. !! 😊
RIP Rusty. (Lead). Loved his voice. So soothing. One of my faves
He and Paul died within a few months of Rusty
@MikeCoggan think Paul died first in Florida after he left Poco
Britt, in the early 70's Poco and the Eagles were very similar in their music. In fact, two members of Poco became members of the Eagles. Randy Meisner, bassist was recruited by Linda Ronstadt from Poco, when she was instrumental in forming the Eagles who was her back up band until they went off on their own. When Randy left the Eagles in 1977, who was having difficulty hitting the very high notes of Take It To The Limit, Timothy B. Schmit, also a bassist, left Poco and replaced Randy, and Timothy is still a member of the Eagles today. You should react to Poco's Keep on Trying, led by Timothy and the harmonies are magnificent.
Girl you’re so beautiful with your genuine honest facial expressions! Your genuineness and honesty are a breath of fresh air to this wicked world! I’m a seventy one yr old white man and hearing the music of my time, is such a blessing, and brings back memories of my youth! There isn’t anyone that could do the show any better than you!!! Keep doing what you do, and stay beautiful and genuine! Would love to hear your take on some old Al green and soul, like you did with Wilson Pickett and otis Redding, maybe on some.early Christian stuff also, like Keith green , etc. keep up, the great work, brings joy to many of us!
I was a huge Poco fan. I often liked them at certain times more than the Eagles. Who they were compared to by some music people. Although this song might have been their biggest "hit", it really is not indicative of most of their work. Thx Britt!! First Poco reaction I have seen someone do.
Two former members of POCO ended up becoming members of the Eagles.
Country/rock movement included Eagles, Linda Ronstadt, Pure Praire League, Poco, Flying Burrito Brothers, The Byrds, Gram Parsons, and others
Absolutely; and I would include the late, great Dan Fogelberg in this group, as well!
Especially the Souviners album @@robinmcintyre3472
Donnie and Marie Tiny Tim
@@robinmcintyre3472definitely not
@@robinmcintyre3472 yes
Original Original was Pogo. Pogo was a comic strip character. But Pogo creator Walt Kelly wanted to protect his copyrights, so they changed one letter and made it Poco.
Fun fact..Don Henley from the Eagles..went to the music program at North Texas University and is one of their Distinguished Alumni next to Meatloaf who i believe graduated their school of operatic performance.. I'm not sure but I think they were classmates..the college changed its name to UNT in the 80s i think but pretty cool a crummy boring school like that graduated Henley 😅
I haven't heard this song in 40 years. Thanks! Nice tune. Timothy B. Schmit played bass with Poco and later the Eagles.
Randy Meisner was bassist for Poco first, left for the Eagles and Timothy took over Randy’s position with Poco. When Randy left the Eagles, then Timothy took over Randy’s position once again! Pretty strange, but both were incredible bassists and singers! I have two of Poco’s albums from the 70’s which we listened to all the time!
Actually one of my favorite Poco songs was the very beautiful Magnolia with Paul Cotton singing lead and Rusty Young on steel guitar. What a musical ride and talented production this song turned out to be. Just love it. It s heading is Poco - Magnolia.
Rusty Young, RIP, was one of the very best steel guitar players ever. Paul Cotton, to Rusty's right, died the same year, 2021, as Rusty. I loved Pocos reunion album Legacy (1989). Last significant music that Randy Meisner, RIP 2023, made. They settled on the name Poco after getting a lawsuit threat from the creator of the Pogo cartoon strip.
Love this from Poco. 😊😊❤❤
You could also try You Better Think Twice by these guys - faster, kickier, more rocknroll -
I’ll check it out!
Always loved Poco. Need to do a few more from Poco.
Part of the country/rock fusion popular from the mid 60s thru the 70s
I've driven a convertible in the late summer breeze in St Augustine, FL in the early evening with this song blaring. Talk about a natural high.
Welcome to the genre of yacht rock. Best easy listening music out there.
I think they were originaly going to be Pogo after the comic strip but they were told they couldn't do that so they changed it to Poco.
One of their greatest! The good old days!
There was no tempo change. Electric Bass and Drums kicked in.
Great mellow tune.
The Huzzah River... A campsite with a circle of vans on a soft bend and awesome gravel bar... You had to know where to turn off the road into the woods, it was not marked... My parents and their group of friends and a gaggle of us kids back in the late 70s...This blasting from the speakers.. if that paints a great picture, that's what I grew up on. 🥰 Loved this reaction!
Some reason this song gets me everytime
If you want to hear them rock a bit try "Restrain" from album Good Feeling to Know. I really like that one myself.
If you enjoyed the rhythm and pace of that one, I might suggest you sample two other classics from the 70s, "Reminiscing" by Little River Band and/or "Dust in the Wind" by Kansas.
I love you Brit! You're awesome!! Please try "Heart of the night" Poco. It's a great one 😊
Nope need Poco s Rock not the wimpy stuff.....Nature of Love ....where Rusty goes crazy on the pedal Steel....
Legend Rocks
Another great one of theirs is Heart of the Night
The first big concert I went to was Poco and Ten Years After...1972 Cobo Arena, Detroit Mi.
❤️🔥 such a gorgeous song, those harmonies and sweet guitar ❤️🔥
Love this Vlog, you make this very entertaining, it's great listening to my eara.A request please, Teach your children, by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, 😊.
For another killer 3-part harmony, check out "Keep on Trying". For a more upbeat representation of Poco, listen to "Legend". I think you'll like them both.
Nope more representative is Cmon or Nature Of Love ...they were mostly rock not wimpy shit...or try Restrain
Beutifull smooth ❤😊
One of the first songs I learned to play hammer-ons on acoustic guitar back in the day
You need to check out Firefall - Just Remember I love You. It might just be PDC worthy.
Poco grew out of Buffalo Springfield, after the Springfield fell apart and left Richie Furay and Jim Messina to cobble together their last album. Furay and Messina cofounded Poco to continue their dabbling with "country rock" which was a new concept. Randy Meisner was an original member but left before Poco's first album was released, later joining the Eagles. Messina left to produce Kenny Loggins and wound up joining him as Loggins & Messina. Timothy B. Schmidt replaced Meisner, then left and replaced Meisner again in the Eagles. Poco went through numerous personnel changes, the most notable of which was Furay's exit after multiple frustrating attempts to get a Top 10 hit. Ironically, it was after his departure that Poco, then led by Rusty Young and Paul Cotton, finally hit the big time with this song and several others. Rusty Young was the only original member remaining; he died in 2021.
Never cared for this one all that much as a little kid but boy did I love their hit Wildfire. Not only was it on the radio all the time, I just ended up hearing it a lot at campfires and get-togethers, and everybody learned to play it and it made for a great sing-along, and wow, did the girls love that song!
It's about a girl and her horse if I remember correctly.
“Wildfire” is probably my favorite song all time, but it wasn’t Poco, it was Michael Murphy! 😊
I agree with Kevin
Nope THEY DID NOT DO WILDFIRE!!!! No wonder there are nt the good songs here...too much garbage rock top 40...

@@tedmohr6353yup surprising people don't know crap about these songs
Kind suggestion:
Old school Motown - " If This World Was Mine" by Marvin Gaye and Talking Terrell.
The studio record is the best.
I’ll look into it?
If you like this song you should check out one hit wonder Jay Ferguson Thunder Island . Bet you'd like it . Also David Dundas - Jeans On .
Poco was the band behind the story for the iconic rock movie from 2000 "Almost Famous"
No they weren’t. Almost Famous was based on Cameron Crowe’s time with the Allman Brothers.
It feels optimistic...Tonight were goin' break away...
Oh, poco means, a little bit!
Oh my… a song from my youth. I noticed someone mentioned Poco’s southern/country rock roots. That is definitely true, however I believe Poco got a lot of grief for this song because it strayed way too close to embracing pop stature.
I love their older more countrified rock music. But I really like this tune (and the album) too.
Thanks for the trip down Memory Lane Britt!
❤️… 🖤👣
The 50s 60s and 70s were the best decades for music
I see Randy Meisner in the back on bass.
Great song i was a teen when it came out and loved it
Yacht Rock
I love that you react to songs like this. This was one of my favorite songs when it came out, and it's never gotten old. In case nobody else mentioned it, The Eagles got both their bass players from Poco.
This makes my heart hurt like I was in 12th grade all over again.
There's a more frenetic "Crazy Love" by The Allman Brothers Band...different song entirely!
I’ll check it out!
Play thunder island or play eddy money Trinidad 😊
3:21 When Britt starts to groove, it reminds me of when the gopher in the movie Caddy Shack starts to groove to some music. 😂
Nope no groove here
Poco has a great catalogue. Dive in! A particular fave is 'Bad Weather'. Studio version best to enjoy all the layers.
I'll check it out!
No live is better
"Poco" is Spanish, it means "little, or to a small degree." So in your example, "poco loco" means "a little crazy."
"Poco" means "a little" in Spanish. They were originally called POGO and started getting some legal issues with the name so they just changed one letter. No deep meaning apparently.
There is much more POCO staring with hits like Magnolia & A Good Feelin' To Know To Legacy. So many great hits
Cmon, Shortchanged, not the wimpy acoustic show here
I also hate when this song is over, it seems too soon!
Every time!
Call it Love by Poco is also a great song!
You need to react to Steve Miller - Jungle Love
For upbeat, try their "Good Feeling to Know."
No Upbeat would be Nature Of Love or Cmon instead of this top 40 garbage
I LOVE YOU by The People ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Yeah, you're gonna want to react to "Heart of the Night" next. Their version of "Magnolia" should be a must for you, too. You'll love it. ✌️
Nope need their country rock....CMON from Midnight Special stop the wimpy boy music
Do yourself a favor and watch " Magnolia " by Poco.
Great song and band!! 😅
Vince Gill sang with Poco or was that Pure Prairie League?
Vince was with pure prairie league. I may be wrong but I don't think he was ever a member of poco.
They're Poco and you sometimes seem Loco! lol.
Beautiful song but his description of crazy love sounds like torture.
Wimpy wimpy
Long history with Buffalo Springfield and the Eagles and Crosby's Stills Nash and Young, Jim Messina. It wasn't always pleasant.
You interrupt too much and I lose the floor
Thought you gave up that stupid screen
Adios
All these sappy love songs, I guess women used to be worth pursuing years ago
Id like to hear the actual fucking song. But she keeps talking over the entire song.
So predictable. First minute interruption. Always, with the the first minute or so. The girl can't help it.
One of the first songs I learned to play pull ons on acoustic guitar back in the day
Awesome!
