@@ivantheboy5374 eh, its about a 50-100$ difference, depending on if you can get it for zach's price or not. probably gonna bite on a 7700xt, just cant decide if i want to splurge the extra $150 on upgrading to am5 or not...
@twisted_3 It's been great performance-wise so far. I'm not playing super demanding games right now, but some of the more GPU-heavy ones I play like Apex Legends, Rainbow 6 or New World run very well on 1440p and ultra settings. I have the Gigabyte one and it gets pretty loud in New World, but on the other hand it has very good temperatures. It's all adjustable, but I'd rather keep my GPU under ~80°C during heavy loads.
Same but with the 7600 I got on a great deal for $150, no regrets there. Look up a guide for the undervolt and overclock on the 7700xt, its default profile very much stops it from great performance, I got a crazy increase in frames with it.
I have a very similar system to this. (R7 5700X3D + 7700 XT). Performs like a beat in 1440. AFMF 2 really helps it stay at a high refresh rate experience in very demanding games.
6:34 Happy to see The Finals as the new addition to PC build benchmarks because it showcases both CPU and GPU of the build. I enjoy playing the game but the CPU load is very heavy!
I do have some critiques. If you are going for high 1080p/low 1440p fps, replace the GPU for a used 6750xt (less than $300 used) and replace CPU/MOBO with am5. I plan on going to microcenter to take the 7600x and am5 mobo deal. this is the combo I'll be using for my PC so I can get onto am5 as the 9000 series enter the market. You can upgrade the GPU and CPU later down the road.
Your builds are normally very solid, but you made a huge blunder with the b450 motherboard. It only supports pcie gen 3, but the GPU and nvme is gen 4. It's only about $10-$15 to upgrade to b550. Even if you have a strict budget, get a gen 3 nvme instead and upgrade to a b550 board
note that it pcie gen 4 doesnt really matter in an x16 connector most low-mid end gpus barely saturate even the pcie gen 3 x16 slot so its not that much of a bottleneck, especially in gaming
I wouldn't call that a huge blunder. I'd call it sticking to a budget, which was the entire goal of the video. Sacrifices have to be made, and the 2 that you listed aren't a big deal at all.
Yes and no. 1080p low settings becomes very cpu dependent pretty quickly. Obviously depends on the game but im assuming by crazy results you mean very high fps. And im also assuming you mainly play fps games since thats often what people play that look for crazy high fps, those are mostly cpu dependent especially on low res and low settings. If this is the case for you and you’re stuck at this budget id recommend reallocating some of the money from the GPU to the CPU. Do your research first though on the games you play and be sure if you will be staying at 1080p. Otherwise this is most definitely an amazing price to performance all rounder PC!
Zach, on your website, please start doing pure performance build guides for other countries🙏. You dont have to go anywhere, just do it in PCPP🙏. Congrats on 1mil btw
For me, Getting 32gb ram for 46$ much better than having 16gb in this age (extra 12$) recommended and change mobo to - MSI B550M PRO-VDH WIFI (extra 5$) recommended and change to much cheaper cooler 21$ - Thermalright Assassin X Refined SE PLUS (less 14$) recommended and then 100$ for 2tb nvme gen 4 - MSI SPATIUM M482 2TB (extra 43$) optional Overall, performance per dollar is insane with this!
The Arctic Freezer 36 is an even cheaper (usually sold at ~$25) single tower cooler that comes with two fans. And it comes with Arctic's P12 fans, which are incredibly good static pressure fans with fluid dynamic bearings. Not a bad deal for $25.
You could argue a 7500f with a cheap matx a620 would be around the same performance and price while still future proofing but the ram would definitely add cost.

Agreed and honestly if I am staying with am4 then spend an extra 30 dollars to get a 5700x3d to maximize that fps.
I do agree, but if you care about the speed of the gen 4 nvme, go with b550, the gen 3 speeds is enough for gaming.
