According to The Sun. "The City’s investigation into Balderrama centers on employment decisions made by the Fresno Police Department concerning the officer victimized by Balderrama’s affair. In his statement, the officer said he was actively seeking a change in work assignment within the department from patrol to another division that would enable greater scheduling flexibility. One position, in particular, was represented by Balderrama as a likely landing spot more than a year before it became open. The assignment would have dramatically reshaped the officers schedule by freeing up weekends, which would have interfered with Balderrama’s preferred time to access subordinate’s wife". Chief Balderrama abused his power and authority to prevent the subordinate from spending time with his wife in order to continue his extra-marital affair. Makes me SICK is when individuals who are in positions of power and authority abuse their power for their own personal desires. Truly Disgusting. He should do us all a favor and leave Fresno. Feel sorry Balderrama's wife and kids. They're probably embarrassed beyond belief. Fresno. Now we're famous for the "CHEATING CHIEF". Then he starts quoting scriptures from the Bible. Should have been reading and following the Bible BEFORE the affair.

Not the first chief of police to cheat. Most officers have marital affairs.

What is sad about this one is that he abused his authority in order to continue his affair. Not only did he screw over the subordinate officer personally (having an affair with his wife) but also screwed over the subordinate office professionally buy screwing with his career in order to continue his relationship with the subordinate's wife.

A large percentage of them beat their wives without consequence too. A police union lambasting a cop for infidelity is extremely unusual to say the least!

I wonder how many other affairs he had before getting caught this time. The only thing he's sorry for is getting caught. How many affairs has he had with other officers wives. I hope his wife can divorce him and keep the house, the kids and part of his pension. Who knows how many diseases he exposed her to.
I feel bad for her, his children, his parents and family. And of course for the people he works with who are now dealing with the embarrassment and fallout from this.
If he has an ounce of decency in him, he'll step down and leave that department on his own.

Did we forget about Cheif Dyers allegations and accusations... but now he's Fresno Mayor...
He served as a police officer in the Fresno Police Department for 22 years while rising through the ranks before being named chief of police in 2001. In 1985, Dyer was alleged to be involved in an extra-marital relationship with a 16 year old minor.
