so sad how few actors from this movie are still with us.
Facts RIP to the GOATs🙏🏿❤️
so many black all stars
4 Real fam.
So sad, i was just thinking the same thing..😢😢😢
That's so true, but they all left a hell of a catalog for generations to laugh and grow. I've seen this movie too many times to count and I'm laughing like it's my first time.
The guy Tommy in the beginning who was with Dominique LaRue...that's NOT a fake laugh, that's his REAL laugh lol! His real name is Thomas Ford. He played "Tommy" in the Martin Lawrence tv show "Martin". He passed a few years ago. Funny guy & great actor. RIP Tommy
Wow I didn't know he passed away 😞
Damn, I didnt hear about that. R.I.P. Tommy.
@B. Smith yes I was gonna say the same thing. Tommy's laugh is classic. RIP😔
@@RewindThatwithMsKay Yes! One of those laughs that make you laugh 😂
@@tonyyul703 yeah he passed in 2016
The kid that plays young Quick is the same kid that plays young Tre in Boyz n the Hood. Both great movies.
Aww I didn’t catch that
He also plays Peanut in the house party
Facts
Desi Arnez Hines II,he was in house party as well. Kid was putting in work back in the day 💪🏾
Yeah that sure is him
“Above the rim”
“White man can’t jump”
“Blade”
“Dead presidents”
“Five heartbeats”
The top two movies Above the rim and White man can’t jump are a must but this is a good list in general
Colors
@@greed42o why colors I never liked that movie it was unrealistic and the plot was all over the place
@@malikwilson7387 what? lol that movie has realism they used real gangs members filming that movie and that movie was one of the movies that's made gta San Andreas.
Man said blade lol I felt that forreal, blade is badass 👍🏼
"I ain't never comin home no more! Take it easy" -Richie
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Omg, I lost it when he said that!! And then he just sits there with this look on his face like he’s so proud of himself. 😂😂😂😂
LOL but wait how about before that phone call when Sunshine turned to him and said "I think I'm falling in love with you." to Richie and that one tear falls down his face!! Too funny!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
So remember on the movie LIFE..Eddie Murphy told the guy fighting him over the Cornbread incident..." I know a b***h named Della that hit harder than that"?
Wow good catch!!!
Yeah Vera real name is Della Reese 😂 good one
That’s funny as hell I would’ve never caught that dam now I gotta tell that to somebody
You the goat
@@r.a.h.hrealauthentichiphop147 you never caught that???
Eddie even said, “After the movie came out, they trashed it so bad. He didn’t watch it until 5 years after the fact. After seeing it, he was like,… this was a Great Movie”.
The main reason they trashed the movie was because they were trying to blackball Eddie Murphy for calling out the academy for racism. The critics trashed Coming to America as well, but historically speaking were the critics correct?
Was it written or directed the best? No, it’s a bit uneven at times but because of cast and the many hilarious situations that are still funny to this day it all came together really well there’s a reason it still holds up and is considered a classic. Just critics didn’t get it and it was his first real like black movie so they just don’t have the same sense of humor as black people. Also I think some of the critics just wanted to stick to Eddie because of some comments he made around the time about the academy awards and their racism.
Eddie's masterpiece. Critics never relate to what the public likes.
Eddie Murphy was at his best during the 80's. Trading Places, Coming to America, Beverly Hills Cop. Eddie had the 80's on lock.
Can’t forget about his work In the 90s as well
@@TheRealMiamiman70 Boomerang is a good one from the 90's. It had Martin Lawrence, Halle Berry, John Witherspoon, Robin Givens, Chris Rock and some other big names.
Yes he did
@@orionsirius6540 can't forget Grace Jones and The legendary Eartha Kitt! I'm still convinced that they saw Grace Jones walking down the street, and gave her the skeleton of the script and she basically said whatever she wanted.
Tommy Smalls actually laughs like that guys. Ever watch the show Martin?
YES. The "that aint no damn puppy" episode !👌. HILARIOUS
IKR I was like...that's just Tommy
@@nopenottuhday2691 😄

I feel like its safe to say if they've never seen most of the movies we suggest these days then they've never seen Martin lol
You definitely should watch “Lean On Me” With Morgan Freeman
Above the rim with Tupac
100TH TIME SAYING , LEN ON ME!!!! MUCH LOV

What I loved most about this movie was it was a dream come true for many of the main characters - Eddie grew up sneaking out to listen to Richard Pryor and Pryor did the same thing with Redd Foxx. Three generations of Comic Greats riffing off each other's inspirations for an entire movie? EPIC And Danny Aiello & Della Reese are absolute joys in this!
Eddie directed it it was a chance to work with hi idol Richard Pryor
You guys should watch “PAID IN FULL”
you guys won’t regret it!
I dont know they are ready for a based on a true story hood movie lol. Great film tho for sure
@@duraunpierre8872 been telling these cats for the longest. I can’t get notice through these brothers.
Hmmmm, we might have to spam the next upload. You down? Lol
@@duraunpierre8872 lol 😂 bogus
YES
"QUICK!!!!" Arsenio Hall was great. "Quit shooting that little shit!"
My guts was hurting the first time I saw that scene
That guy shooting the little gun is AJ Johnson’s father. The comedian who played Ezell in Friday.
That is my part!! 😩😂😂😂
That's the best part in the whole movie.
3 generations of comedy genius in one movie. We need that in a movie today. Eddie, chappelle, rock
When Benny says to Vera “Bic please” when she went to make him a sandwich, you can hear the parrot behind him say “fat bic” 😂😂
Like I said earlier, I have watched this movie so many years, that I never heard the bird say it until now! How did I miss that? Oh yeah. Probably was laughing too much.
A lot of people missed the parrot saying that. I tell everybody about the parrot they all be like I didn’t hear that. 😂
Tommy Ford's laugh was signature. Y'all obviously never watched Martin.🖤
I remember loving his laugh because it made me realize those kinds of laughs aren't annoying (I always thought mine was)
Chris- "Dude, he shot the guy in the head when he was a kid. I knew that toe was gone." 🤣😂
Curtis- "I know..but...he didn't have to shoot the toe, man." 😂🤣😂
Highlight reaction for me!🥰
My mother and I call this "The Mutherf&&&er movie." LOL
Redd Foxx (The past), Richard Pryor (the present), and Eddie Murphy ( the future). Three generations of comedy KINGS..
The Last Dragon!! Such a classic
Best movie everrr
My favorite movie!!
Yeah!!! I grew up watching it with my brothers and sisters all the time❤️
Sho'nuff it's a classic
“Oh, you wanna hit people with garbage cans. “ I say that all the time. 😂🤣😂🤣
“Last dragon” or
“I’m gonna git you sucka” they might be a little out dated and not so fun to watch.
Last Dragon would be great
Both are timeless!
I been saying the last dragon for a couple videos now.
Last dragon for sure!
I'm Gonna Git You Sucka still holds up well today. Watched it recently and almost died from laughing too hard. Lol
Even tho they had jokes on Benny, it was all love. That group was like a family and they didn't know how to show their love affectionately but they took care of eachother.
Three actors from this film all had the official cause of death listed as heart attack. Richard Pryor, Redd Foxx, and Robin Harris.

Yes! Tales from the hood is one of my favorites!
My fav horror film ever.
I had feeling you guys will do this movie!..you should do Boomerang which is so under rated movie from Eddie Murphy and Grace Jones also appears in it too.

Yes The Wood 🤌🏾
The kid is desi arnez Hines. He was Trey in “Boyz N The Hood.” Good friend of mine.
And he was Peanut in "House Party"
Serious roll by Eddie Murphy "Vampire in Brooklyn" has some funny moments as well
That movie is so underrated
Ahoy🤣😂😂
22:15 The bread scene is accurate. Sliced bread wasn't invented until 1928 and wouldn't have been popular in 1930 yet. Bread was sold as a loaf and you had to slice it yourself in order to make a sandwich, which meant slices would often be thicker and uneven.
Fun Fact---In that scene in the Movie LIFE when Eddie Murphy was fighting that dude over his "cornbread" he said " I know a BITCH named DELLA who hit harder than you" He was talking about the scene in Harlem Nights when he fought DELLA REESE (the character VIRA)
Yessir!

"Carlito's Way" with Al Pacino, great movie

REDD FOXX
RICHARD PRYOR
EDDIE MURPHY
This movie highlights so much of the struggle and counterpush of our need to fight the system. The cops are not always ethical, hustles are not always just lazy people.
They were going against the cops and mob too.
The cast in this is just amzing. Comedy gold.
PLEASE watch ‘Crooklyn’
Just because your name is heroin you ain't gotta go around and sell it 😂😂😂
I was expecting them to show the two scene when Sugar sends Sunshine to hook up with that dude at the bar and the bar scene. Sad they didn't show it. Great scenes

So many comedic legends in one film. It's history.
It maybe interesting to see you guys react to TV shows as well. Maybe Martin or Sanford & Son...

Dead Presidents is a good hood, war, robbery film.
One of the greatest pieces of art ever caught on film. A MASTERPIECE!

Harlem Nights was very well received when it was released. I’ve seen it so many times and it’s still funny and worth the watch.

My friends and I would sometimes watch movies on Fridays after high school. This is one of those movies and we laughed our butts off the whole movie.
Poetic Justice is another Tupac movie.
And you could watch The Wood as your fifth Omar Epps movie.
I saw this when I was like 10. My uncle was a huge movie buff and he put this on the list for us kids to watch. Lol. He watched it with us and fast forward on most of the questionable scenes. We didn’t understand most of the movies until we later watched it as adults. Lol. Needless to say, my eyes were saucers re watching this. Lol
"Can we kill him NOW??? Please Ray. Can we kill him?" Such a great film. There are so many unbelievable actors in this. I'm glad you guys did it. It's really a shame that Eddie forgot that he can act.

Don’t know what they call that thick bread in NY but down here, we call it Texas toast.
I think my great grandparents said that bread loaves used to come whole -- either home baked or fresh from the bakery, and you'd just cut it the way you wanted. So, the reason the saying is, "The best thing since sliced bread," is because before the late 29s and early 30s, there was no pre-sliced bread available. HN takes place in 1938, but people still made their own bread and sliced it themselves.
They also said that often, it was sliced thick because lunch or a snack was a thick piece of bread with cheese, honey/syrup, or jam instead of a two slice sandwich...
... ... Wait. Why am I writing about bread? hahaha
The cultural impact of this movie! It’s PACKED full of legendary Black comedians. Pretty much everyone Eddie Murphy looked up to!
