Making Desert Moon Cold Process Landscape Soap with the Sculpted Layers Technique and Embeds

- The sun’s last rays are making the sand dunes glow…beautiful golden colors along with purple and pink-hued shadows give the landscape a very warm and serene tone. Here and there, a lonely cactus silhouette stands out against this background. And, although it isn’t dark yet, you can see the moon in the sky. This is the scene that I wanted depict with this soap!
All of my colorants were from Nurture and/or Mad Micas, they’re all listed below as affiliate links. I also used Nurture Awaken fragrance oil, which smells absolutely divine, although it did discolor only the blue portion of my soap a bit around the edges!
My video did cut off in a couple small sections, but I hope you enjoy this video nonetheless! And if you have any questions, feel free to ask in the comments below.

Talk about “soap goals.” 🙌🏼 You did an awesome job. So I was wanting to ask if you had issues with filling the tiny cactuses up? And if you did, did you just fill them with soap clay after cutting them? Do you have issues with the coconut milk heating up ur batter? And the last question, what did you do with the soap you scraped off? Do you make samples with the scraped soap?

I do have a soap question, I see that you use Lard as an ingredient. Some lards contain either BHT or THBQ as a preservative. Could you check your lard for me and see if it is? Is hate to buy something that I'm allergic to!

That cactus scraper!! Omg. I make this fun game of trying to figure out how you make these soaps when I see them as a thumbnail. But my mind can't handle it 😂 Had this realization that your scrapers must be really hard for it to withstand scraping small details like the cactus. I always thought the scraper was flimsier and more bendable. Bravo bravo on another masterpiece.
I wonder if you could also make a pop-artsy portrait with soap, that would be so cool.

Creamy Obsession you're one of the best soapmakers I've seen on youtube. Pop art is probably the way to go with many colors since I bet it's hard to make a realistic face in soap design 😅

Thank you for showing the cut, I don't know if you remember me but I mentioned that I'd like to see the cut on another video of yours. I know you say that the bars are very similar, but it always makes me think that the person just picked the best one to show us and the others weren't very good if you just get a picture at the end. So it was lovely to see and even though they are similar you get a chance to go 'wow' at each one. I hope you continue to show it, the speed you played the cut through was just perfect. They are fantastic

I may also have to film how I clean up the bars when I plane them... this really cleans up the design even more so, as the wire tends to smear the smaller, delicate details. I love the scraping technique. It's obvious when you thing about it, but that's the first time I see it being used. The cutouts seem so abstract while you work but it all comes together at the end. The soap itself is stunning, it's like a beautiful tile.
Thanks so much! You do have to plan all the layers ahead of time, and then the stencils sort of make sense. Sometimes they're very close, and I have to number them not to forget which one is next!

Ive been making soap for about 10 years and have done many layered soaps, but wow, nothing like this! I don’t think my mind ever even considered something like this! And 5 kids!!! 😮 Your one of a kind for sure! You are an excellent artist! Please don’t ever stop making them!

Creamy Obsession Aw, it’s nothing. I’m also impressed you’re replying to comments this late, at least in my country.
If you don’t mind me adding more, because your soaps really did stand out to me(sorry if it gets a bit rambley, it’s definitely super late): I just love the purity of shapes in your soaps. They’re always so ridiculously precise and planned so well, like that bit of overlapping yellow sand in this one. You use methods that really seem to go the extra mile. I also see a lot of people go overboard with embeds and it can feel kind of like those milkshakes that come with an entire slice of cake on it, y’know? You seem to do them sometimes, but always in a way that adds to the aesthetic of the overall piece. There’s also a real dedication here to having a great, harmonious color choice and it all pays off wonderfully.
I have absolutely no words on how to describe this. SO LOVELY AND BEAUTIFUL AND THE MUSIC TOO!

It looks like you use an xacto knife or something similar, but it would be really interesting to see how you go from an image to the scrapers for the layers.

The discoloration by the FO you used, although it might be not something you wanted to achieve on purpose, gave a unique and cool touch on the final result. It looks like a frame over a beautiful picture/photo. Amazing❤️
