George Osborne visits Warrenpoint on pro-EU campaign trail

Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne visited Warrenpoint Harbour today (Monday) as part of his nationwide campaign trail aimed at keeping the UK in the European Union.
Mr Osborne - who had a tour of the port facilities with senior management - said it didn't make economic sense for the UK to quit the EU.
"If Britain quits the EU then this becomes the new border with the EU and that means that British goods, goods from Northern Ireland that are imported into the Republic of Ireland, face new taxes....
"It means new customs checks, it means restrictions on people moving into an EU country - and here at this port they say that that will cost jobs and have a real impact on the economy here," he said.
