SMASH is one of the top 10 albums from the 90's, The Offspring was HARD!
Key word - was. Lol
Ixnay was great too
Hands down. I still rock it often. The rest of their stuff, well we don’t talk about it in our home.
You ain’t wrong with that comment!
Not one bad song on the whole album. This was also a time when bands like to put hidden songs on their album, and this one had a great hidden gem.
This song is a lot of fun to listen to REALLY loud when you're driving...
Exactly
Turn on your radar detector first.
@@NoActuallyGo-KCUF-Yourself gotta get that rush for real!
Before or after The Bloodhound Gang's "I Hope You Die"?
Cruise'nWestern OZin a camper van 2002.....epic sound track!
Old Offspring is awesome!
The lead singer Dexter is a genius. He's literally a scientist.
And Noodles is a lighter thief 🤣 I went to their show and saw noodles looking for a lighter before going on stage so I handed him mine. Never got it back 🤣
He's also a jerk.
PhD in molecular biology
Unfortunately Americana was their last good album.
@@chrisrowan702 false
The official "road rage" song. Love it, lol. "Smash" was a great album.
I love The Offspring. They have a ton of great songs. Peace and love.
Now this is the offspring that I love
Offspring is a band that anyone can like because they connect well with the audience, whoever it may be. Check out "She's Got Issues" by The Offspring.
Lol I remember in 1999 my dad took me to an offspring concert on a school night in 4th grade. Best School Night Ever !
This song is an ode to road rage. Love it.
The Offspring's lyrics are absolutely timeless. They apply to every generation. Check out a song called Elders from their original self titled album from 1989!
I love the hell outa lex, but when Brad digs a song...good shit.
Come Out and Play is the quintessential Offspring song.
Genocide is the one.
I'd say that's the least impressive song on the album.
@@belewda Well, you're wrong...
@@CG-vn8iy Not the first time, likely not the last
Come out and Play is too run of the mill these days. Nitro has the energy I want in a song.
Straight up PUNK ROCK!!!
This song always gave me a Motörhead vibe. Obviously a huge influence.
Man I've been waiting for somebody to get to their older albums. Ignition and Smash are so good front to back. "Bad Habit" "Session" "Pyro" "LAPD" "Not The One" "Genocide".
Forever and Day, Nothing from Something..
Beheaded, I’ll be waiting, crossroads, elders. Never forget their first album
I'm so glad you mentioned Not The One. Most people only know their "greatest hits"
Beheaded & Jennifer Lost the War stick in my head too.
@@Lioness006 “Nobody really cares today the worlds a busy place, guess she must have really sinned now!”
"Meaning of Life" "All I Want"
These are great Offspring songs.
In general I Ixnay on the Hombre is a really good album. I'm probably biased. I told my dad at 12 I wanted to listen to punk, than man threw me in the car and we drove to HMV. He bought me Nevermind the Bollocks, Rancids indestructible and Ixnay on the Hombre. He seemed so proud of me
Well, we have a nexus between Lex and Brad: “Alt SoCal Punk”! 🤣
This album, Smash, channels the best of classic punk.
After listening to this band for probably about 25 years, I'm finally going to see them live really soon, can't wait!
Won’t be the whole band. They kicked out the drummer for not being able to get the vaccination because of a medical condition. So disappointed in them.
I have seen these guys live 7 times and are one of the most fun concerts you will ever go to. Enjoy Man!!!!
@@MichaelHenkleC thanks. I can't believe I've never actually seen them before in all the years I've listened to them. Get there in the end! It is a shame about the drummer but I can kind of see it from both sides.
I love old Offspring. There's so much energy in the chords and the lyrics were either typically goofy or had more obscure, hidden meanings behind them.
Yep. Brad loves punk. That's so damn cool. Great reaction you guys!!
This is punk rock not punk
I like when songs focus on a part of life not covered by most music, like just getting pissed off in your car
If you liked this, you should definitely check out Dropkick Murphys - Barroom Hero.
That would be awesome. Plenty of Dropkick to check out.
That would be amazing. I would love to hear more punk.
Pennywise,Rancid,Sick of it all,NOFX,Ignite, Therapy?,Supersuckers....
Green fields of France.
Violent Femmes Blister in the sun
This ce (smash) and Green Day - dookie were all we played for by ear straight, so good! Check out “come out and play” by them next, it’s classic
This one live is one of the greatest things you can experience trust me!
Seen it twice, back in 97, this was what they started the concert with.
@@philipbouchelle483 Cool! Yeah seen em 5 times, last time I saw them in 2018 they did the same!
Always loved this tune. Has a very clear and strong Motorhead influence going on.
I can still listen to this whole album, beginning to end, and enjoy EVERY song.
Been listening to Offspring since forever, such a high energy band lol. Albums Smash and Ixnay On the Hombre are my favorites. Ixnay has so, so many good songs. They also have a song that I think is ONLY on the Batman Forever soundtrack lol (and in the movie, it's played when Robin steals Batman's car).
Smash It Up 👍 it's a cover song and the reason I own the Batman Forever soundtrack 😁
@@DevilsM4rk I love the original Smash it Up from The Damned too, lol. And yup, that cover was the reason I picked up the Batman soundtrack back in the day, after searching all their albums for it 😂
It made me sad when Lex said she doesn't usually like 90s music...
The Offspring have tons of good tunes. Another band you should check out is Jane’s Addiction. “Ocean Sized” would be a good one to start with.
I’m glad you did this one, bc this album was pretty hard at the time, and then they got sillier over the years. I was like 11 when this came out and we used to scream that part with all the curse words like crazy!
This was my jam in the early 90s. One of those songs when you turn up the volume, light a smoke and floor the gas!!! BTW....the lead singer Dexter Holland literally dropped out of grad school to front the Offspring. If memory serves correct, he ended up getting his PHD from USC.
West Coast punk at its best!! Love this S**t!! Brad likes it,so do more Offspring!! They have a load of great songs!
We’ve always had the best punk 🤟🏼
I'm guessing this is early Offspring, before they got popular.
Edit: I see this is the same album with "Come Out And Play."
Yes! The Offspring always raises the energy level
Wow! You two are getting into some of the deep stuff that never saw the light of day in the radio and MTV/VH1 but all fans loved and knew by heart
I grew up on this stuff. This song is one of those that epotimizes the band and this small Era of the 90's. Goes hard, fast and is a little off in the head.
this whole albums fire
Road rage and drive-bys were really starting to escalate early to mid-90s so this song condemning it was highly relevant.
THANK YOU! Finally a review of Bad Habit - you are the best! Love the channel!
My favorite! Best road trip song!!
The whole album is a banger smash goes hard thanks dad for introducing me to this
I remember when they did this song live on one of the award shows (don't recall which one). They bleeped practically the whole song. My folks thought there was a sound problem. lol.
Good punk group. The Offspring!
The song smash from this album was my teenage theme song! Great reactions guys!!
Oh so many happy feelings! Thank you for this!!!
I got this album/CD because of "Come out and Play" & "Self Esteem",but when I heard "Bad Habit" it became my favorite song on the album
Motorhead meets Janes Addiction. Killer!
This song is universally relatable to anyone who has ever driven
First time I ever heard this song.... was on the radio... during rush hour... and it was not censored at ALL.... I was shocked and delighted at the same time. And I think the station got a HUGE fine too.
Their Track - Gone Away, wrecks me every time.
This whole album is INSANE! \m/
Great reaction. Cheers!
I am so glad you guys reacted to this song.
"Sounds like an irresponsible gun owner"
lol that's putting it lightly.
oh the memories - my brother used to say 'play the Yeah yeah band'.
love that album
These guys still sound like the album live to this day. It still boggles my mind they are that good live. Soooo so many songs from the offspring that are great
The Offspring are awesome, can't wait to see them at the end of the month!
Just seem them live in my home town Hull england and they were amazing x
Off Spring has some awesome songs.
Yo! Brad was bouncing to the song!!! Lex is rubbing off on him! :)
Fair play to you guys for reacting to this. This band don't really get the credit they deserve. Brilliant song and band from the 90s.
Staring at the Sun is another beauty.
Ignition and Smash are great albums, I never really liked any of their others but Ignition and Smash were mint (this track is from Smash)
Um. Ixnay on the Hombre would like a word. Self Titled has some great songs too. And Americana. Those first like, 5 albums of theirs were killer.
Back in the 90's my class did a bus/camping tour of central Australia (Ayers Rock) for a week. To break the monotony of some 6,000km of driving the teachers allowed the kids to hand over some of our tapes to the bus driver. One kid offered Smash and when it got to this song we all started coughing to hide the "you stupid dumb shit god damn motherfucker" line. The teachers were cool enough about it to press rewind and play it again without the interruption. Good times! :D
Had the privilege to see these guys live 20 years ago. Best concert ever! They played this song and everyone went nuts! No mosh put though
I agree with everyone else here. Smash from 1994 is their best album, there is like no bad song on this album. You should listen to more songs from that album. You will have nice reactions to those songs.. ;)
One of my all time favorites
Love your lineup today!!!
Saw them at sofi stadium .. man even now they still come heavy!!
I'm SO HAPPY y'all finally reacted to my fave Offspring song... It's really best to blast it when you're driving, (though it could be dangerous.. LOL)
Haha! Now this is a song you want to watch a reaction to. I still remember my mom's reaction to this song in 94 when I bought this CD. Priceless 😂😂
Such a great band. Welcome to 90’s pop-punk
hell yea
Used to love driving to this song when I was young.
Oh YES I was not expecting this song, best road rage song of all time!!!!! :)
This awesome i love these guys
🤘😎 OFFSPRING 🤘😎
GREAT LIVE BAND!!!! ROCKED THE HOUSE!!
The song smash is a great one, badass
The Offspring were a Cali punk rock band from 1984... but it wasnt until 1994 (after Nirvana) when their album 'Smash' suddenly went ballistic on MTV... sold 4 million copies.
Been waiting for someone to do this song
This whole album is so legit!
The offspring was my favorite band in HS. For me it still hits a cord n drives an emotion all leading to getting pumped up. Brad, you can see the difference when it takes time for you to analyze a song or it hits a cord with you and it just takes the wheel and you are along for the ride. 😎👍🏻🇺🇲
🔥 Love this song so much
100 thumbs up, great song.
Offspring always gives me Crazy Taxi nostalgia.
This is a great song off a great album. This song + car stereo = 100+ mph
This is, by far, my favorite Offspring track. All of their stuff is great but this one is 🤯
I used to listen to this while playing road rash on the computer!
Talk about fun s***!
Back in minor hockey, this was our team's pump up song in the locker room. We were quite aggressive that season lol
The Offspring is what happens when you take a sarcastic/sardonic academic over achiever (HS Valedictorian, full ride academic scholarship to USC, Bachelor's in Biology, Master's in Molecular Biology and eventually a PhD in Molecular Biology) and pair him with a guitarist who might be one of the ten best rock guitarists when it comes to whipping up simple yet super catchy riffs.
My favorite chill song to drive to...
Want you Bad is my fave of theirs.
Ignition, xnay, and smash are the best albums in existence, let alone the offspring
Good tune!
LOVE this album!!
Seeing Brad's eyes get wide when the double time kicks in.
Nice! It's be cool to see more punk from you two.
Love the offspring!!! The kids are alright is a must listen!!!
haven't listen to this in 23 years
So many bangers
Seriously just point and play
