I think Peter telling Miles that he had Mayday because of Miles was one one of the hints that Miles "breaking canon" isn't as bad of a thing as it's let on to be
I just sort of assumed that they wanted to poke fun at 90es edge and decided to attach it to the Spidey design that casual viewers would recognize as a 90es Spidey character. They just wanted to visually communicate that the character was making fun of the 90es, which may have flown over the heads of casual viewers if it was, say, a Bagley-styled Peter instead, even if it would've been far more accurate to the dynamic that the Parker brothers shared back then.
I think they're saving him for Beyond. I wanna see a scene where the Spider team is getting fucked up but suddenly a portal opens up and Leopardon and Supaidaman show up and save them.

Regardless of the other comments explaining that lore-wise, Peter telling Miles that he had Mayday because of him was important to the audience, it also serves as a moment for MILES to see the impact he’s had on Peter. We spend like 20 minutes seeing how much Miles misses his *only* friends (excluding Ganke) and how much that story impacted him, and as an audience who’s seen the prequel, we KNOW how much Miles meant to Peter B. after the first film but Miles never got that closure until Peter outright tells him, and up until this point, he’s been questioning everything that he thought he knew about them and their adventure. I mean Gwen straight up spent the entire film guilt-tripping him, Peni showed up for five seconds to tell Miles to accept what he didn’t want to after not seeing him for years, all layered on top of the longing and loneliness he felt after they left, as proven by the scene where he tells his parents about his friends who “left town.” Not only is the scene an important indicator to the audience that Miguel is WRONG but also an important indicator to Miles that his origins meant something special to the others just as much as they meant to him.

A non-90es parody version of Ben Reilly would've totally decked Miggy across the face in that scene. He knows what it's like to be branded and judged as a so-called "fake person" more than any other Spidey, and wouldn't stand aside while somone's sense of self-worth is being threatened in a strikingly similar manner to his own experiences.
Tbh, if you think about it spidermans 2099's suite colours look kinda like the opposite of the original spiderman suite. like where the red is supposed to be there is instead blue, and where the blue is supposed to be there is red. Makes me enjoy the suite more
Stan said it him self, anyone can behind the mask, if Ur spider-man/woman is gay there gay, if there trans there trans, if the straight there straight and so on, the only issue I have is the people calling people for being Transphobic, homophobic for not believing in the same version as them, others have at it. GREAT VIDEO as always
Man, the best part is that from what i was told, some ppl watched distinct versions of this video, not like: other script, but like: distinct shading, effects, backgrounds
Jessica Drew got more respect than Ben Reilly and that kinda bugs me. I don't mind him being side-lined, but I do mind him being made into a completely mockery. Still a great movie, but they fumbled that.
21:01 I always knew Ben wasn’t gonna be a major character. Hell, I’m glad he wasn’t. Keeping the focus on the minimum number of spider-people allows the story to flow better, as well as helps the audience to keep up with the important cast of characters. Although I still wish they could’ve handled him better and I think the comedic aspects of him didn’t quite fit the tone in his last scene. The movie was still peak though. Also TRE THE GOAT IS BACK!

he shouldn't of have lasted as long as he did against any of them realistically since he's barely a year in, but i guess it is easier to run from a bunch of people through tight corners and spaces and cities than it is to chase that one person
@@PaytonMollo yea, I’m around enough people who are supportive or in lgbt to know that practically no one has a flag more specific than the ally or just general pride flag if they’re just a supporter, anything more than that and it’s an at least 85% chance they align with that flag
I really liked Ben, i loved him as a parody of the 90s era, but i agree that it wouldve been used better on another character (Kaine Parker would be my pick honestly)
There is a clear distinction. I don't want yo come of as hateful but i think the reason why there is so much backlash to the trans thing, is that it turned from being a theme trans people would connect with, to people bullying and forcing others to except that gwen is trans. As a trans person, it makes me sad that a large number of the community doesn't know where to draw the line.
I agree with your point about trans people seeing Gwen’s struggles and feeling like they relate to them in a way, the only thing I don’t like about all this is that some people are looking too far into it, the thing about the trans flag I think she’s most likely a trans ally. Besides Gwen is more of a tomboy
I could see that interpretation, I just don’t get why an ally would have that flag in their bedroom if they weren’t trans themselves. Like, 90% of my friends are LGBTQ, and they usually hang up a flag for their specific identity in their bedroom. It’s like a tradition, sort of. If Gwen were just an ally, wouldn’t she just have the broader rainbow flag? And wouldn’t it be somewhere other than her room? Idk this is just how I feel about it, going off my own experience.
@Payton Mollo I would agree with you, but there's also a scene that shows her Dad has a trans flag patch on his police jacket. Most older people only show open support like a flag or a pin if they know someone personally who's LGBTQ. It's generally only younger people who show open support to trans people, even if they may not personally know one. While it's not impossible, it just doesn't happen that often. I have a third piece of evidence, but it's admittedly a little shaky, but I think it's pretty relevant: in one of the scenes when she's talking with her Dad, the screen literally lights up in the colors of the trans flag. And from what I remember, it more closely resembled the trans flags colors rather than the specific colors of her suit. Also, whether she's trans or cis is irrelevant to the point of the movie. The reason it's not brought up directly isn't necessarily because she's not trans. I think it's important to let people headcanon Gwen as trans (not that you're not allowing that) because of the little good media representation for trans people. But above all else, it's a huge win for trans people to have that being pretty directly supported by a massively popular movie that's amazing. It's great to see
There are plenty of trans girls who are tomboys though! Wanting to be a tomboy and a guy are two different things, which is why cis women who are tomboys don't want to be guys. Being a trans girl and a tomboy aren't contradictory, I mean there's also trans guys who are femboys as well
@@snowy893__ I just see Gwen’s dad having that patch as MORE representation in the background. It doesn’t necessarily MEAN she’s trans. Considering she’s a woman in the comics and a woman in the movie. Not that people can’t have head canons, it’s just that I think some people are looking a little far into it. (Edit: after looking into the shot where Gwen’s dad shows the trans flag patch, apparently it seems like that was debunked since the color may have either been mistaken or was only in that one scene. Since in another scene the same patch looks different, making it look like the actual color scheme that NYPD patches look in real life. Once again, it’s possible that the colors only look different in that one shot, so it’s possible that I’m either looking at the patch in that scene wrong. Anyway, while the head canon is harmless, I just don’t really see how it makes sense because of the context. I don’t mean to come off as aggressive by the way, I just have to make that clear since it may be taken that way because you can’t exactly hear my tone if I were to actually speak.)

I LOVE YOUR COSTUME!!!! also I’ve been watching like all your videos and I love em haha
the amount of chaos energy during this video i can sympathyze with it cuz i too have a chaotic group of friends.
I see Peter saying that miles was the reason he had mayday was fine in the movie because he was trying to stop miles and he had to make sure that miles understood what he meant to Peter to try to get him to fully listen and stop
first vid i saw of you two and i love the dynamic and everything im hooked
Love how the themes and story are the first things you talk about when you start talking about it
Damn, I never thought I'd be learning why colour is so important by a guy wearing a spiderman suit
Why’d they have to write my boy Ben Reilly like he had severe brain damage 💀
But he was really fucking funny honestly bro is goofy asf
@@hue_marlon727 at a cost of misrepresenting him though. It’s one thing if he’s cracking jokes, it’s another if his characterization IS the butt of a joke. It’s like a 90s comics parody, except that edginess described Peter in the 90s way more than it ever did Ben (lol remember his time as “The Spider”?)
@lmaono1356 I think the movies interpretation is better than the current comics version (chasm)
@@officialzaccox267 then why draw him in Tom Lyle’s costume and artstyle?! Just make him Chasm 🥲
I watched ATSV too. The movie is great. Nice soundtrack, characters, animation, colors, cameos, etc. My rating is 10/10. IMO it hasn't beaten No Way Home yet.

U said it make your brain shoot out that dopamine. I prefer using the term “it activates my goopy goblin brain”
Kai: So anyways-
Tre: GET THE F*£! OUT MY WAY!
R.I.P. John Romita Sr
The legend
Man, the best part is that from what i was told, some ppl watched distinct versions of this video, not like: other script, but like: distinct shading, effects, backgrounds
you and tre are the perfect chaotic duo and i need more
PLEASE bring that boy Tre on the show again, it was hella funny having him on
10:06, WHOA WHAT KAI?!!?!?!!
The scene Peter tell miles he’s reason had may because of him. Make me tears of joy! I know is too right in your face but make me happy at same time.
I was so happy to see webslinger. It was my favorite part about the movie.
The bagel knows all
Jessica Drew got more respect than Ben Reilly and that kinda bugs me. I don't mind him being side-lined, but I do mind him being made into a completely mockery. Still a great movie, but they fumbled that.

I always knew Ben wasn’t gonna be a major character.
My biggest complaint is just that they didn’t have 1994 Spider-Man despite that they did the first Spider-Man multiverse on screen
The new suit makes Miguel look like a prowler more than a Spider-Man which works SO well
This movie was amazing!, Cant wait for the last one. somebody in my theater yelled "OH HELL NO" when they saw "to be continued" lmaooo!
2099's theme was amazing, reminded me a lot of prowler's theme from ITSV!
Your dynamics is so fun omfg
personally i don't think miles should've lasted that long in the spider chase with more experianced spiders like insomniac or spectacular but overall 9.5/10
he shouldn't of have lasted as long as he did against any of them realistically since he's barely a year in, but i guess it is easier to run from a bunch of people through tight corners and spaces and cities than it is to chase that one person
Bro the spot changed his skin bro💀 dude really just switched skin
This has to be the most chaotic Spiderverse review I have ever seen. 10/10, no notes.
4:00 I don't think Gwen's transgender, but it's more of an analogy of the struggles trans have been through as they are similar.
Nobody with common sense would think she is

@@PaytonMollo yea, I’m around enough people who are supportive or in lgbt to know that practically no one has a flag more specific than the ally or just general pride flag if they’re just a supporter, anything more than that and it’s an at least 85% chance they align with that flag
I still see him as Raekwon from Wu Tang 💀😭😭
we need more tre💗
"You have no idea What your DOING!"
I really liked Ben, i loved him as a parody of the 90s era, but i agree that it wouldve been used better on another character (Kaine Parker would be my pick honestly)
I like the new sound effects when text bubble pops up and hi tre/miles and hi Kai/peter 😁👍
you thought we wouldn't notice the pizza tower music you cheeky bugga
“Spider man why did you create that guy?”
When the botw guardian theme came on,I almost had a heart attack lmao
i love this video it's just friends chilling and talking about the big spider-man movie
When I watched Across the Spider-Verse in the collider scene in Mumbattan the movie stopped and came back on a bit later with no sound lol
I felt like I could just tell by how the ending was moving that it was closing on a cliffhanger, a lot of people were surprised and it confused me
I agree with your point about trans people seeing Gwen’s struggles and feeling like they relate to them in a way, the only thing I don’t like about all this is that some people are looking too far into it, the thing about the trans flag I think she’s most likely a trans ally. Besides Gwen is more of a tomboy
Definitely Agree!!
Being a trans girl and a tomboy aren't contradictory, I mean there's also trans guys who are femboys as well
@@snowy893__
I just see Gwen’s dad having that patch as MORE representation in the background.
The ending was the best part because it ended like a "comicbook"
The scenes with PSM & Irl Miles Morales (who definitely should play him live action) are so funny
My rule with 1 and 2 parters is I don’t rate/review them until both are out. I just don’t feel like it’s super fair without full context.
Bro the rant about the locks at the end 😭😭😭
PSM you should make a video discussing the plans for Spectacular Spider-Man season 3 and reference his voice and appearance in across the spiderverse
Lit costume man!
I love how tre violently came in, and his rant on miles cut was the realist shit ever. Like every issue of miles i get so pissed they give him that old yeye ass "my dad cut my hair" bullshit ass cut. Like ion care about realism, just bro some big ass fade hightop or so locs come on! If hobbes can have hair twice his head size and his mask fits perfectly on his head give his haircut some more volume, at least edge my mans up come onn. Love the hairstyles in this movie, its like the designers look two seconds to look at a black person and realize they ain't gotta give miles his fucled up hairline
I like how they slipped in a lot of curse words in the movie for a kids movie.
You’re lucky, I’ve only seen it 2 times, wish I could have seen it 3 times, or more
I swear this film felt way shorter than it actually was
tres rant abt miles hair is so real. always some nasty ass skin fade like we’re in 2006😭i notice that a lot of comic artists seem to be like 10 years behind general fashion trends so maybe that’s why
the only problem i have with this movie as that miles was able to get away from hundreds of spider man more capable than him and he didnt even use his invisability at first
It speaks to the difficulties for spiderman to work in unison with others, specially on that quantity of people, and that they probably really didn't want to force the kid
@@phonesjuda7318 yeah but on that note, if the entire universe is at steak you probably try harder
He is trying to lure them into the space hence why he didn't use invisability at first
@@yup7380 he still shouldnt have been able to get away in the first place
