My ex was a stunningly beautiful woman, who was nearly 6ft and several inches taller than me. I definitely enjoyed a lot of aspects to being with a woman like that but one of the downsides is constantly having to fend off other dudes. I think the first girl was only 4'2. But I totally agree with what you mean, there's a lot of a difference there. My ex was 5 foot even, despite her saying she was 5'2. I’m 6’6” and this just pissed me off so much that I’m fuming beyond words. I’ve not really been putting enough effort throughout my life academically, and the only way I went full send for is athletics, because that’s what I was good at. As a somewhat short guy myself at 174cm (5'8.5 in freedom units I guess) I totally understand why women like taller guys, and I have never had a problem with that in and of itself. *What I don't like though is how acceptable many women think it is to just blurt it out without any consideration, like of course she can't date a human being that is only 175cm, it's almost as if they are offended that you even had the nerve to put them in that position... :D* On Tinder for instance it's shockingly common to see a straight up height requirement in the description. You would not see, or at least it would not be socially acceptable for a man to do the same about any body measurement of a woman, nor should it. Ultimately I think what makes the height thing with women so rough for men is 3 fold; First of all it's an almost universal preference for women, secondly it's not just a preference for many, but a complete deal breaker too, and thirdly it's something the man can do nothing to change/improve, unlike fat, muscles etc. *Think about being in that position; that literally no other quality can make up for the fact that you lack 10 cm in physical height... that's quite brutal when you really think about it :/* With men's taste you don't really have an equivalent to that, you would be very hard pressed to find one trait that was a common deal breaker for almost all men, unless you're talking about extremes. Imagine for instance that for 80% of men, dating a girl with smaller breast than a _natural_ D cup would be a complete deal breaker. That would instantly make it very hard for _most_ girls to find love. Again, I understand that it's a biological thing and I would certainly not blame any individual woman for pursuing her own preferences. *I just wish they rejected short men with the same sensitivity they would like to be rejected for a physical attribute themselves.*

I am a 5'8 woman and have dated 5'1. The main issue to me is not a mans height, but mainly how he handles it himself. If he is angry at all women, spewing height-related hatred/misogyni I am out. Some guys are just really fragile, and if you made them a foot taller, they'd probably be insecure about something else. I would never fault women for a having a preference. Obviously, we would all like certain things if possible, but we still have live in reality work with what is actually being offered to us. As a guy who's 5'4" I always tried my luck as I never thought about the height, I just went for the girls who clicked for me. I have been shot down alot, but that's life. The shortest I have dated was 4'10" and the tallest is 6'4", which we dated for several years.

'You don't like me for real, you're probably a gold digger (date1, I don't need his money) I find shorter men often seem to have a thing with having to dominate women, out of insecurity. This happened to me in a high school when I tried to date a girl only an inch taller than me. She claimed, "what will other people think?". Remember your height says more about the girl than you.
The thing is girls, especially at school, do live under the pressure of society expectations and popularity issues. Boys think that girls are arrogant but in fact most of them are unconfident and feel stressed rather than despise you.
It's different with the adults: women may simply have range of guys whom they see as sexual attractive, and again - what's the point in dating with a person you don't want to have sex with? My ex was a stunningly beautiful woman, who was nearly 6ft and several inches taller than me. I definitely enjoyed a lot of aspects to being with a woman like that but one of the downsides is constantly having to fend off other dudes. As a somewhat short guy myself at 174cm (5'8.5 in freedom units I guess) I totally understand why women like taller guys, and I have never had a problem with that in and of itself.
*What I don't like though is how acceptable many women think it is to just blurt it out without any consideration, like of course she can't date a human being that is only 175cm, it's almost as if they are offended that you even had the nerve to put them in that position... :D* On Tinder for instance it's shockingly common to see a straight up height requirement in the description. You would not see, or at least it would not be socially acceptable for a man to do the same about any body measurement of a woman, nor should it. Ultimately I think what makes the height thing with women so rough for men is 3 fold; First of all it's an almost universal preference for women, secondly it's not just a preference for many, but a complete deal breaker too, and thirdly it's something the man can do nothing to change/improve, unlike fat, muscles etc. *Think about being in that position; that literally no other quality can make up for the fact that you lack 10 cm in physical height... that's quite brutal when you really think about it :/*
With men's taste you don't really have an equivalent to that, you would be very hard pressed to find one trait that was a common deal breaker for almost all men, unless you're talking about extremes. Imagine for instance that for 80% of men, dating a girl with smaller breast than a _natural_ D cup would be a complete deal breaker. That would instantly make it very hard for _most_ girls to find love.
Again, I understand that it's a biological thing and I would certainly not blame any individual woman for pursuing her own preferences. *I just wish they rejected short men with the same sensitivity they would like to be rejected for a physical attribute themselves.*

Some guys are just really fragile, and if you made them a foot taller, they'd probably be insecure about something else. I would never fault women for a having a preference. Obviously, we would all like certain things if possible, but we still have live in reality work with what is actually being offered to us. As a guy who's 5'4" I always tried my luck as I never thought about the height, I just went for the girls who clicked for me. I have been shot down alot, but that's life. The shortest I have dated was 4'10" and the tallest is 6'4", which we dated for several years.

I was reading the comments to see what tall ladies had to say as I’m 5”8 and my wife is 6”(she’s very tall in Australia) and height means nothing. I hope you’ve realised your ex husband probably wasn’t comfortable in his own skin so projected it. My tall confident wife has taught me that when you walk into a room every other guy and girl(especially the tall women 😂) notices you. Your Ex husband couldn’t handle it obviously. 6”3 is unique and we should celebrate our uniqueness. Truth be told I looked at your you tube page to see if you were that tall 😊. I’m a piano teacher and the one advantage of being 6”3 is long fingers ( I find most adult ladies struggle to reach an octave). You sing and play beautifully. Enjoy your day.

Ha! This was funny. This Beans guy is cool beans. And as a short king myself who's dated women both shorter and taller, I'll repeat what he said - what if I don't care? We usually don't. But women care a heck of a lot about it.
