When Kratos took Hades soul he can now pass the river Styx without harm like in the beginning when they took his powers but now they can’t because he now has power over them when he took Hades soul.
Also when you upgrade the weapon you can summon souls of the underworld. Hope this helps.

Athena becomes a higher being because she sacrificed her self "selflessness"
But she chooses to still try to manipulate kratos xD definitely Zoooos's daughter
I feel like this ghost Athena isn't the actual Athena because her twist at the end doesn't make sense. Also, in God of War comics that tie GoW 3 with 4, Athena is back to her usual self .

We will just have to wait and see what they do with her. I hope she comes back, I like athena even if shes the villain
the dev has said that once Athena got to the higher plane, she saw a lot more things and became corrupted. She wanted to gain power and thus her coming back to Kratos to use him.
It can also be interrupted that some higher power is exist beyond the Gods, manipulating world events and the minds of the Gods. Said entity failed to use Athena to obtain the power of Hope, failed to obtain a price (I believe to be a vessel) through Atreus, etc.
She was corrupted after dying, before she was truly selfless, putting others before herself.

she also always wanted to help kratos, and loved him too but never crossed the line because of her loyalty to olympus.

You can read how much she tried to help him (while keeping olympus safe) in GoW1 and GoW2 novel.
Persephone was always in the underworld since she was the wife of Hades. Persephone was basically tricked by Hades into being trapped in the underworld and she was kinda forced to marry him. This is why Persephone wanted to tear down Olympus as revenge by freeing the titan Atlas and by using Kratos in the Chains of Olympus game.

Full-on villain protagonist, at least by this point. Kratos had a lot to make up for in the later games.
Been binge watching these since yesterday. You two are unbelievably awesome and have an amazing dynamic. Cannot WAIT for you two to get to the most recent two games! As a side note, the woman in the glass coffin is/was indeed Persephone, the wife of Hades.
Yea, me too. We’re almost finished with Gow3 and I think my wife is gonna freak over old Kratos.
It was cut out, but Kratos retrieved the Sword of Olympus from a statue of Pandora that Hephaestus created, which the girl can use to communicate.
15:10 she’s absolutely right and that plays a major role in his character arc in the last two games especially in GoW Ragnarok when u guys get to it.
Also if you noticed...once a god dies, a disaster usually follows that is related to the recently deceased god’s domain of power.
When Ares died, his body exploded in what is almost similar to a nuclear bomb explotion.
When Poseidon died, the oceans flooded the land so much that in other areas, the water level rose high enough to cover mountains.
When Hades died, dead souls became free from the underworld and begins to wander the earth aimlessly.
When Athena died, her body created an explotion of white light but the consequences were unknown.
There are still more death of the gods and its coresponding disaster coming for you to see, so i wont spoil it further...
Athena could still potentially come back because of her new existence

He didn’t need Hades weapons to get power to kill Gods. He got that power once he opened Pandora’s box. During the first game.

This game was waaaay ahead of it's time. I remember getting it for PS3 when it came out in 2009 if I remember correctly. I was 15 years old and this game was my obsession for a while.
the realm of Hades is not the same as Hell. All people who died went to Hades. Ancient Greeks didn’t believe in postmortem judgment because the Greeks didn’t have a concept of heaven and hell. They saw the afterlife as a cheerless phase.
Tartarus, the infernal regions of ancient Greek mythology. The name was originally used for the deepest region of the world, the lower of the two parts of the underworld, where the gods locked up their enemies. It gradually came to mean the entire underworld. As such it was the opposite of Elysium, where happy souls lived after death. In some accounts Tartarus was one of the personified elements of the world, along with Gaea (Earth) and others. According to those accounts, Tartarus and Gaea produced the monster Typhon.
Elysium, also called Elysian Fields or Elysian Plain, in Greek mythology, originally the paradise to which heroes on whom the gods conferred immortality were sent. It probably was retained from Minoan religion. In Homer’s writings the Elysian Plain was a land of perfect happiness at the end of the Earth, on the banks of the Oceanus. GoW 3 is so intense as a story you guys are going to love the rest of the story
So far it’s the best. His rage for vengeance is off the charts.

Fun fact- Hephaestus's Roman name was Vulcan, which is of course the name Gene Roddenberry used for Spock's home planet in Star Trek.
In "classic" Greek mythology, Hephaestus was one of 3 children Zeus and Hera actually had together (Ares being another, as well as the minor goddess Hebe). When he was born, Hera was so embarrassed at how ugly a baby he was she threw him off Mount Olympus, and the fall crippled him. So, an ugly, crippled god that was essentially isolated to the underworld like Milton in "Office Space"- but gods and heroes alike revered him for his smithing abilities (because of their connection with the earth, he presumably was able to employ some Titans in his workshop who bore no ill will towards the Olympians anymore). Plus he had Aphrodite as a wife- so he did something right, eh?

Green represents Kratos' life
Blue represents Kratos' Magic (god abilities)
and Red represents Kratos' Power/Strength
Pandora's box didn't just have hope. Much like the origional myth. She was given the box and told not to look inside it under any circumstances. Being a child tho. She couldn't resist and opened her box. All the evils known to mankind where held inside and were unleashed on the human world. It was after releasing evil into the world. That pandora found hope, and re opened the box to release it into the world
What Kratos did to Hades: as it was in the beginning, so shall it be in the end!
What you are watching right now is the lessons Kratos learns to get to the person he is in the newest God of War. Think of his journey right now as his young adult life , he's going to he brash and abrasive and rageful . And rightly so. After all , the gods have manipulated his life to do their own bidding . I'd say what comes around goes around . You gonna fuck around? You gonna find out.

Fun Fact peeps, the voice of Hades is non other than my man, the Legendary Clancy Brown. He played the Kurgan in the first Highlander movie, Mr.Crabs in Sponge Bob and Lex Luther in the animated Superman and Justice League series. The vid you watched didn't even reveal who Kratos was talking to. The giant with the one eye is actually Hephaestus, the god of Blacksmithing.

In the gow universe, we do not know what happens to God's when they die. Athena appears to be an exception in "ascending". Also Kratos goal is ironic considering his war with the gods began with him killing his family. Now he kills the gods, who are also his family.

You know the messed up thing about Aphrodite she constantly cheats on Hephaestus. Pretty much no one likes him even though a mythology he's actually one of the most kindest gods.

We operate other channels and we don’t have much time to dedicate to God of war content. On top of work our schedule its kind of tight. 30mins of shooting and the rest is spent on editing, making thumbnail and posting. Might be easier to do it alone but coordinating with my wife’s schedule makes it more difficult. Sorry for the long answer.

Kratos is seeking revenge and nothing will make him stop all the love ones from Kratos care are dead and that means mom brother wife daughter sister whatever maybe even is dog and canary whatever belongs to Kratos is dead so is heart is closed to anything else besides revenge like someone mentioned in the video blinded by anger and also Zeus exterminated the last of Spartans when killed Kratos in the battle with the Olympic Blade so for that the same reason his care is even less that’s why in one of the cutscenes when Kratos is talking to Athena
