    I don't see how the teeny, tiny advantage of having built-in cables outweighs all the disadvantages of having built-in cables compared to all the other tiny USB DAC/AMPs out there. One of those plus a cable is no less portable and far more flexible (literally and figuratively) than this.

      I see your point, that's why I said niche. However, it does provide better output power then most dongles will for full size amps, consider that. My RU7 actually has a line out mode but tops out just over 2v. This is 3.4v out of the XLR, which is nice. I can confirm too that it handled very well on a tube amp where the RU7 struggled a bit. All comes down to use case and synergy.

      @@Skeeb23 The added power output does sound (ha!) like a nice benefit.

    Cool item, can definitely see it being useful to many people. Great review
    Would you consider reviewing the Woo Audio WA7 Fireflies (3rd gen)? Mainly because many of the reviews out for it are usually with cheaper headphones or from reviewers who dont have much experience with tube amps. Would like to know how "tubey" something ilke that sounds, especially in comparison to their Tube Mini

      I'll add it to the list! It's been on my mind to check out at some point.

    Whats the ess sabre dac they used ? If they are chargjng stupid money for a cable i hope they better mention it.

      It's a Sabre Audiophile Grade DAC that decodes up to 128 dsd and 24bit, 384khz. If you mean which chipset, then that is not mentioned on the site.

    Couldn’t one use a USB extender cable? Between the DAC cable and the source, it’s all digital anyway, right?

    • @Skeeb23
      @Skeeb23  9 месяцев назад

      Sure you can. Are you saying to get the length longer?

      @@Skeeb23 Exactly, as opposed to paying Woo $100 per meter, for other side of the DAC analog cables.

      @@mjmonjure yep could do that for sure. There's always the worry of added noise when introducing another link in the chain. But it's always worth a shot
