Good review. I have had three iHA-6 amps. I still have one and love it. It's a backup amp for me; good for gaming, too. I would upgrade to an 8, but I do most of my listening through my WA22 now. It at least sounds like the iHA-8 ticks all my boxes 👌
Great review. So, do you think it could be possible to use the tungstens for 8 hrs a day everyday on hyper mode without damaging the amp? Would it need external fans blowing air on it? Does it have max temperature protection? The Aune S17 drops into low power when it gets too hot.
Hi Ryan…it’s good to see you continuing, and hopefully prospering in your work with this channel! Would you please share any notable sonic observations you experienced with open and or closed versions of Verites and Calderas, of course depending on any access you have to any of them. Thank you for considering and I’ll look forward to any information you will share. It’s appreciated.
I saw this come up over on the head-fi forums as well. I can't tell you yet how it compares. Perhaps Ill get the chance to check out the differences at some point.
@@yogiwp_ it is definitely a good pairing with my Cyan 2 DAC as well. So much that is why I'm buying the iHA8 also as I do have future plans to own a Tungsten. I can't give you a comparison to the Violectric, however. I've not heard it to do so.
Given that I also have the Cyan 2 and apparently these two paired together really well, I think this is going to be the upgrade to my Aune S17 I was looking for, specially if it can drive tungsten well. Thanks Skeeb for the review, I was very much looking forward to your thoughts on this one.
@@ReverendDr.Thomas I don't own any YET, but plan to buy a pair once the supply situation normalizes a little bit, this is the reason why I'm looking for a HP amp that can power them properly, that's reasonable priced and it's not a topping amp.

Damn, and it's $300 cheaper than the Violectric. And Zach will often give a discount to ZMF owners. Damn. You keep making my decision hard Oh yeah, nice video, Ryan.
The Violectric v222 beats this across the board in power and you'd be blessed with German engineering vs chifi. The 281 is regard as on of the best solid state amps outside of a $15k Mass Kobo
@@c34webb appreciate the comment. I've heard many good things on the Violectric. However, don't sell Cayin short on engineering, they really do make excellent products. It also does drive the Tungsten well. I hope to hear the 222 paired up with a Tungsten sometime to get a listen myself.
Chinese are not worse designers/engineers than the rest of the 1st world, it's quite the opposite for the last couple decades. Labor cost in China is super low that's why similar quality stuff are cheap. If there is a Chinese company that does qc, it will most likely be as good as anything from any part of the world.

@@Mastermnd1 let me ask Cayin about that. I know ZMF had the whole Cayin stack going for all of CanJam and there were no issues there.

Get a chance to compare it to the mjolnir 3 yet?

It drives the Tungstens but is it a good pairing? Compared to for example Violectric V222/V281?

222 has more power and current which is required for the Tung
how does this stack up against the mjolnir 3? currently using that to power my tungstens but always on the look out for different gear.
