I love the intro, "I'mma show what my son did and really pissed me off" 🤣 my gf did the same last month. I did the same thing. She only put a gallon in, but was talking on the phone when she did it.
I accidentally did this in 2000. I had just installed a completely rebuilt 355 V8 engine in my 1979 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme. I was driving to Las Vegas from Los Angeles. I pulled in to get fuel @ the summit. I got into conversation with a man who was admiring my car. I inadvertantly grabbed the diesel nozzle and start fueling, and after about five gallons of diesel, I realized what what I had done. I went into the station and told the attendant to switch the pump to premium fuel. I continued refueling with the premium fuel. On the way to Vegas, that engine NEVER stalled, or pooped or anything. No mis-firing or nothing. It just kept on running just as smooth as ever. When I reached Vegas, I filled the tank again with premium fuel. Five hours later, I'm driving back to LA. Same thing. No pooping, no missing,
no hesitating or nothing. But I was driving 75-80 mph on into LA. I later removed ALL 8 spark plugs. To my amazement, all electrodes on the plugs were pure white, and clean. Yes, today's date is 3-26-2022 and I still have the car and NO engine problems what so ever. Oldsmobile 350 V8 engines are amazing engines. I have had five Olds 350 V8's. I currently have a 78 Delta 88 350, a 74 Cutlass supreme 350, and my 79 Cutlass Supreme. They all run damn good.
Thanks for sharing, my daughter is an amateur and just did that a day ago.She did exactly what you recommended, fill it up with premium,today I drove it to work on the hwy, it jerks when stop and start,but when accelerating it sounds OK,smoke a bit initially. This happens to me today thats why im here. I put 4L of diesel on my petrol car but luckily a guy that filling up his car was a mecanic so he told me to fill up with petrol but I just came here to make sure he is telling me right. Thanks for your video. I feel relieve

Drove the car home which is literally 2 minutes from gas station parked it and is currently wanting on triple A to tow it to the mechanic 😩 . I’m so mad at myself

Good thing nothing happened. I’ve done that mistake but backwards. I put gasoline in a diesel truck. I tried what you said, to dilute it. It did run crappy at first and it blowed white smoke. But as consumed the fuel it started running better. The truck was a 99 7.3.
I can see the mistake gas into diesel because it can fit in the hole; but what my son did diesel into gas; lol we was thinking about drug testing him.

Where I saw many people misfuel gas in a diesel is at BP stations. At the majority of fuel stations the diesel handle is green. At BP stations the gas handle is green.
When I was towing if I got a call for a f series truck at BP I knew.
Last night it was a long shift, super tired and I put $10 worth of diesel in my car didn’t notice till afterwards that the pump was stuck on diesel and went straight home. Will this method still work?

Absolutely right. If you put a couple of gallons of diesel in your gas tank, own it. Then top the tank off with gas, even better if it is high octane and drive. You will never spend as much on high octane fuel as your mechanic will charge to drain the tank and sell you everything on the walls.
Remember this phrase... "The solution to pollution is dilution." All the fuel comes from the same dinosaur.
If you put more than a couple of gallons every time you burn a hundred miles of fuel top it off and keep diluting it until it runs like normal than burn it all to empty and fill it up.

If you filled your tank with diesel you will have to drain it and fill with gas. If you caught the mistake with a gallon or two of diesel dilute it by topping off your tank with gasoline.

@@thelastpil0t at today's prices 7-10 gallons. It needs to come out and start with a full tank of gas. Look around RUclips for tutorials on how to drain a fuel tank. The fuel pump on some models is under the back seat.

Man I just did the same thing im 28 years old lol but for my defense i drive a 2013 VW TDI passat which is turbo disel. But today i was driving my 2010 suburban for the first time in a long time. And I put almost half a gallon in begore i reakized oh shit that not gas but i just put 8 gallons of gas in with it its running better than ever lol

But i w as goin to add D to the B P since its not compatible with the methanol additive. Plus wawa gas smells like spicy out the exhaust

My father in-law died and I was absent minded, I did put diesel to my toyota Rav4, I was able to drive to go home but after a few days my car won’t start. The diesel nozzle did fit in my toyota rav4 gas tank and the funny thing, the minute I realized I put the wrong gas, it won’t allow me to remove the nozzle unless it’s full tank. Now it smells gas in our garage coz I tried to start it this morning 3x, unaware of the trouble I got into by putting the wrong gas. I don’t know what to do..
Under 5 litre is ok ,, you can dilute with 20 litre good fuel, but over 10 litres is bad , should not start the car and tow to workshop, mechanic will be happy to work on that
thank you for this because it was exactly the amounts im dealing with and thinking of,,my foolish sister put about 5.9 litres of diesel in a nearly empty tank in my 2006 pontiac pursuit, she did not start it but had it towed to collision center of all places(smh) now should i just add about 20 litres of high octane and drive to the nearest gas station and top it off?

well i finally got back just now with my neighbors who helped me out ,one guy lent me his 5 litre emergency gas tank the other guy drove me to the station to fill it up then we went to my car at the garage parking lot and filled it then i grabbed my emergency tank from the trunk of my car and went back to the gas station and filled those two up and then back to my car so i added about 16 litres of gas on top of the 6 litres of diesel in it plus whatever left over gas was in the car from before the diesel fill up, tried to start it but for some reason the battery was empty after being towed to the garage ,idk how this happened but my neighbor gave me a boost ,thankfully i had the jumper cables in my trunk along with an air tire pump, always have those necessities ,anyways it started nicely and i went to the station and toped it off and added fuel treatment too ,so far so good it seem to be running with no problem, felt a bit heavy perhaps because its been so long i have not felt it with a full tank of gas lol so thank you for this vid you are the only guy suggesting this solution and this saved me an estimate of 300 bucks what the guy wanted to charge me to empty the tank,,fuck that shit and all the bs inconvenience of waiting all day there to get my car ,this was hopefully the right decision i hope nothing happens down the road, i think im in the clear though ,6 litres in a 50 liter tank i dont think should be a problem

@@swolebodysebas5655 gas and diesel are soluble in each other and a small amount doesn't hurt anything. All engines burn a little bit of engine oil and burning diesel is just gonna be fine. Even the deposits in the combustion chamber will clear up in a few tanks of gas afterwards

@@jony7g884 it worked out well. I accidentally put about a half of gallon of diesel in my car and right after I checked out some RUclips videos and found this so added about 15 gallons of gas drove a while than I filled the tank up.

okay so what happens if i put almost 12-14 gallons of diesel do i have to siphon it? went to walmart and home depot and both siphon tubes were too small and didn’t get suction

When i first met my wife we stopped at a gas station on way home and i went in to pay and let her pump the gas, when I was walking back out I noticed she was pumping it weird so i yelled at her and asked what she was doing, she yelled back " i have to pump it very slowly, the nozzle here at this station is too big for your gas hole" I was like fml she had pumped a gallon of diesel into my car and we was the middle of nowhere, so i filled the tank up with high octane and filled it completely, car died on me like 2-3 times but it made it home

You've killed the car basically your out of luck
Get yourself a cople of big jerrycans, and a pice of fuel line, disconect the fuel filter and hook up the extra fuel line to the jerrycan, then turn your key to ingnition, but DONT START THE CAR! Let the fuelpump do its thing and film the jerrycans, when your tank os empty, put everything back togerther and fill the tanks with the right fuel, as long as the car diddn't start on the wrong fuel you ll be ok!

@weldingandstuff thanks for responding. It had already 2 gallons in the tank before I made that mistake. So hopefully that helped. Filled it up and will keep filling it up until I dilute it completely. It ran a little slow at first. But I bought fuel injector cleaner to clean it out. But it's starting to get its speed back

My mom let her boyfriend use my car for work and I’m 100% he filled it up with diesel instead of regular gas, this was 2 days ago. When I got my car back I was driving on the highway and it was working normal but when I came to a stop at the red light it turned off, when the light turned green and I pressed the gas it didn’t move at all so I had to restart the car and it worked but now it does that every time I come to a stop. @QueenSheaButter Took it to a dealer, they drained the fuel pumps and injectors, then replaced spark plugs. Runs fine now

I filled my tank with diesel yes i'm the stupid one doesn't know nothing about cars . costed me more than 2k the the pump destroyed. so replaced. That's how i ended here and wouldn't know anything about diesel yes i'm adult in my 30s . So embarrassed when i went to pick up my car . 😢😭. I never knew there is such thing diesel i just grab the right nozzle just because it's convenient this time the right one didn't work so i grabbed the left .

Well you are driving one of the best v6 engines ever made...those things are practically bullet proof unless you are just an idiot who doesn't take care of anything and even then those engines can take a beating and still purr like a kitten or roar like a lion when you accelerate lol
Fuel injected engines can get away with spraying some less evaporative fuel in like diesel. Likely it will be fine. The mixture has enough gas to get it to combust and then the diesel will burn too.
this is lesson is too late for me i'm stupid one not by mistake filled the tank with diesel costed me more than 2k to fix . The pump destroyed

How much diesel did you put in the tank. My son only put a couple gallon and we filled it up with super unleaded to dilute it. It’s been over a year I think and we haven’t had any problems; in a matter of fact, it seems to run better.

depends on your situation, how much diesel did you put in? what vehicle? obviously if you put in too much its not a solution ,this is juts for small amount like a galon or so
