  • If you're heading down to the Cayo Coco area and are interested in some more cost effective fishing options, you can send Yordan a PM through Facebook, he is a Cuban local and lives close by in the town of Moron. Yordan will most certainly be able to help hook you up, at very affordable rates: / yordan.fg.39 - Tell him you got his contact from Big Shaun's RUclips channel so he knows what it's about. You can also call Yordan, he can do shore or walk outs and inshore boat charters too.

    Mobile outside Cuba 011 53 52 633299
*Note: You will need to bring down your own rods, reels, tackle and lures to fish inshore as the Cubans are very poor, they also cannot buy any fishing equipment on the island.

Hey Shaun, my gf and I met you and Jodi in Cayo Coco just last week. I told you I'd like & subscribe and here I am haha. Also, got a quick story for you. So I dunno if ypu remember us telling you guys that we were going to rent a scooter and ride to Pilar Beach. But we did and the night before we were all talking about Ernest Hemingway, remember? Haha anyway, we were coming up on the bridge leading to Cayo Guillermo where the statues are. We had no idea they were there and the first statue you can see from a distance and coming from Cayo Coco it looks like a soldier holding a hand gun 😆. My gf was on the back of the scooter squeezing my ribs saying "omg Jamie, slow down, slow down" and all i can think is "oh shit, I'm about to take 2 in the chest" 😆😂. Then of course we get closer and realize they are statues. We both then changed our underwear.... haha not really. But yeah, the first thing i thought about afterwards was you talking about Ernest Hemmingway the night before 😂.
Great videos Shaun, keep up the good work! ✌️

Great story, hilarious lol! It was really nice meeting you guys - Sorry for the delayed reply, I don't check comments here as often as I should. Thanks for subscribing, I hope to find time to edit the videos from my last two trips in the Fall - Cheers and all the best to you both 😊

Which rods did you bring? I’m planning a similar trip and I’m wondering if I should go for travel rods or not.

$25 each way for fishing equipment. Pack some 2 piece 8 footers and you're golden

I bring all 7ft 1-piece St. Croix Mojo inshore rods, heavy and medium/heavy action, I prefer not to use break down rods. If you fly Sunwing, they now charge $75 each way for a 7ft Bazooka rod case, which is what I use to transport my 9 rods. I also buy and extra checked suitcase for all my reels, tackle boxes/lures and tools etc, Sunwing charge $70 each way for the extra case, up to 23KG in weight.

Hey Shaun, enjoyed the video, heading to Cayo Coco in April. Can you pay for the charters with credit cards or is it cash only?

Did you do any shore fishing while on resort

Not often, but occasionally, best times for shore fishing down there are generally April and May I believe.
