This is one of the best, motivating videos on quitting drinking that I’ve seen. I was sober for 15 months, moved to a beach town where it’s always 5 o’clock, and started drinking again. Now I’m realizing just how unhappy alcohol is making me and I’m ready to give it up again-hopefully for good this time! Thank you for this video!
Amazing benefits of quitting alcohol: Better skin , better health , less anxiety , more money , much more confidence and better sense of self-awareness , a lot less give a damn about what others thinks of you .. Hmmmm , I think I quit , too ..
3:18 Less Anxiety 3:24 Sleep Better I quit too, and it's been 1.5 years. Best GIFT I ever gave myself. I have some regret over the years I wasted being wasted.
Hi Ralph. I'm a young 65-year-old. Oh, and that's another positive - I feel younger and more alive. It was interesting to get a message from you, and to re-read my words from 8 months ago. I'm so proud of myself to see those words and know that I quit. It no longer controls me. I started drinking around 40 years old, so I had been drinking for 23 years. So I got you beat! That sentence above (I have some regrets over the years I wasted being wasted.) makes my eyes well-up a bit. But I guess everything has its course throughout this journey called life. I only drank wine, chardonnay, but it was a 7.5 L bottle most every night. Looking back, I guess I would be called a functioning alcoholic but at the time, I didn't think anything was wrong with it. I mean, we all drank at happy hour! That is, until it became my only "love" interest - I would wake up thinking about it, how soon till I could taste that cold, refreshing sip? Any problems I had would be solved by drinking them away in the evening after work, and then falling asleep to get up the next morning and do it all again. But now I know why they call it "being clean." I do feel more clean (mentally, physically and spiritually) as a human being. Anyway, after all that, how are YOU doing on your journey to sobriety? Remember, it's never too late to quit! @@ralphhowton3286

I started the thirty day challenge, today is my first day without a hangover. You pretty much nailed how I feel. I want to start my own channel soon, I'm hoping before my challenge is over. Already got alot more done today, and I don't have cans to clean up. Usually, I'd be struggling to make breakfast, but we have a fire with the snow and already about to roast marshmallows! 30 day alcohol free challenge, finished today. I would drink sparkling mineral water with lime or lemon as a replacement in a wine glass of an evening. I have no desire to take a drink. Will only drink on special occasions now. 😊

This is a great video! I’ve been toying around with the idea of stopping alcohol. It’s been getting in the way of a lot of my goals. I’m 23 and have a huge vision for my life and while drinking is fun, I just slowly realize over the last few months that I do not have any need for it anymore.
Finding it so hard. The longest I've gone is 16 days. I only drink a bottle of wine twice a week but when I'm not drinking it's all I think about it. I'm going away to my Mum's for 2 weeks for Christmas and she drinks every night. That's literally torture for me ( being in that environment when I want to give up). Glad to have found your channel.

day 2. trying to do the month of january then see how much longer I want to stay off. I'd love to never crave/want/have another alcoholic drink for the rest of my life! Congrats to you and thank you for putting these benefits out there for us to cling to!
I really loved this. The beauty of the tube that it’s still here, but so relevant after this recent nightmare. Your youngest will be almost 2? Lol. Anyway, thank you for this, you’re super. Alcohol becomes a habit, a coping strategy and a damaging cycle. You described it perfectly.
I am so glad I found your page. We have SO much in common. I think my drinking got a lot worse than yours... But otherwise, I am in the exact same situation. I have decided to quit a few days ago. Finished what I had left and I just got through my first 24 hours with no alcohol... Probably since I stopped breast feeding my now, 3 year old... 2 years ago. Thankfully, during both my pregnancies, something clicked on my mind where I just had no desire to drink... My desire for a healthy child took over. And they are both healthy, beautiful girls. But, since I started drinking again, lately it's been more than I ever have in my entire life and I'm so afraid of it getting much worse and something horrible happening. Like either humiliating my kids or, some emergency and I am too hammered to help them. Arrrgh... Long story short, I've decided its over for me. And your videos are really helpful. I'm looking for all the advice I can find.

Back in 08 I quit weed, crystal meth, cocaine. all except alcohol. I quit it all cold turkey and it was brutal! But I had a strong will and pushed through. Now 13 years later I'm looking into quitting alcohol but I feel like this one will be a challenge. I stopped drinking before, for a whole year and I got to the point where I even hated the smell of alcohol. But somewhere in the process I drank a beer and before I knew it I was back to drinking often 🤦♂️the problem is I didnt care and kept going. Now I care and want to stop. But it's more of a challenge having my world revolve around it. In order to surpass this ima need to reset my lifestyle and activities and surround myself with people that dont drink. How is your path going so far?
Hello lovely. What a helpful video, it's interesting because I don't drink and never really have. But I think I have a similar relationship with bad food, which has in the past effected my weight. I'm a healthy weight at the moment, after 2 years in slimming world but definitely have some habits that have stuck. Do you think it could be a similar relationship as what you have described with alcohol?xx
A Diary for Darcy hi! Erm yeah possibly... it’s hard to say. I think i definitely wasn’t physically addicted but I had formed bad habits. When I drank socially I found it hard to stop but I could drink normally in some situations... it’s a puzzle really. Right now it makes sense to just cut it out... glad to hear you’re more healthy now in your relationship with food! 😘
I would drink about 5 times a month. Beer, wine and a. little weed. I haven't had a drink in a month. I feel like shit. The opposite of what you're saying. I think about having a drink often. Now I want to go buy a tub of ice cream. I'm hoping it will change soon.
I'm starting to let my mind and body rest when it is tired instead of giving it alcohol to "relax." It's awesome!

Quit the alcohol and gave up the anxiety and depression. 30 days sober. I can finally relax and am not a part of the misery parade.
Thank you so much for sharing, have been trying for years to give up alcohol but struggle do so.
As of to day am going to try harder as i know it's going to be the death of me if i don't GIVE UP NOW. Also can not wait to enjoy the five benifits.
What is your diet like? as your skin looks so healthy...your positively glowing, well done for cutting booze out your life 🧡

You're such an inspiration, I love watching your videos! Thank you for sharing your story :)
Great to hear you quit. It's been a few months since I had one. One is whats sitting in my fridge. I like to do that. Test myself. I don't need it these days. Like you, my days are better and I feel much better when I am sober. We weren't designed to be splashing down the plague like we do! I pray for people who are caught in the addiction. Thanks for sharing. You look like you don't drink! ;) It's a good look to cherish.
day 2. trying to do the month of january then see how much longer I want to stay off. I'd love to never crave/want/have another alcoholic drink for the rest of my life! Congrats to you and thank you for putting these benefits out there for us to cling to!
Keep after it! Booze has got nothing to offer anyone.

Bethany Gish Fitness my pleasure! X
17 days no alcohol
What a lovely human being.
No man obviously.
@@thereisnosanctuary6184 Actually, I am married for 8.5 years… And he is the father of both my children. I assume that’s what your next ignorant assumption was going to be. Have a nice day!
Thanks for this Rachel super helpful and encouraging
Couldn't sum it up better if I tried, and I'm only a month in!!!Really engaging video, hope all is well x
“Some people think I do not enjoy a glass of toddy. On the contrary, I like it immensely and that’s why it must be suppressed.” Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson
I want to stop drinking but it’s hard because I have social anxiety but when i drink I can talk to anybody
Have you considered an ssri like sertraline for example?
Really good testimonial. 👍 xx
Bea Arthur really:)Glad your doing well.
Absolutely 100 percent right..love it..great video
You can do it!!!!!! You've already accomplished so much more! You'll feel great:)
Such a helpful video. Thank you!
I always think the pregnancy glow and lack of alcohol have a link lol
Thank you Rachel x
So helpful
I love your channel.
I say it’s using a drug. We all drink water but alcohol is not needed for anything?
Good for you! You are beautiful!
thank you i needed to hear that
Hello lovely.
Wonderful!
Rach
How dyou relax when u 'it home after a hard day at work?

You're a fit GILF 😜
Thknu so much sister. .
Great inspiration!
I would drink about 5 times a month. Beer, wine and a. little weed. I haven't had a drink in a month. I feel
like shit. The opposite of what you're saying. I think about having a drink often. Now I want to go buy a tub of ice cream. I'm hoping it will change soon.
This is ME!!!!
Thank you very helpful to me
The goal was to just quit drinking alcohol for only 30 days. Just as a cleanse. 9 months later, still alcohol free. I feel much better without it...
2 weeks in going well

I know exactly what you mean about having the awkwardness and people pleasing.
