Been drinking 14 years everyday, started when I was 16 thought it was cool, turned into an addict. But now changing my life! 2 weeks sober now. It’s hard but pushing thru it
I've been sober 3 months I feel really great not anxious or hangover my girlfriend said I'm like the nicest guy in the universe lol but I'm getting ot of shit from my former drinkers
30yrs of moderate to heavy drinking every single day. Just made 30 days sober without rehab and losing weight and starting to feel fantastic. I'm too scared to go back to my old ways so here's to getting healthy. 💪
@@tmcg1907 I did have bad withdrawals which I took Valium to assist in the first two weeks. It's hard, I relapsed after 60days. I'm two weeks in to this attempt, feeling like I can do it this time. Good luck with your journey.
@@clinteastcoast Hmm, valium makes me hostile and aggressive. Strangely. So I'll have to look for something else for that window. Thanks! Good luck, sir; you got this.
Amazing! I sincerely hope you are still sober! On top of the comment before me, I also recommend reading "The easy way to quit drinking" by Allan Carr.
Last drink for me was on October 11th, 1996… 25 years clean and sober. Stopping drinking is the best decision I made in my life. I stopped poisoning my body .. and started living my best life.

I'm at 2.5mo sober (Jan 2nd, 2022) and starting to think I can drink again. Reading all these amazing stories has helped me realize I need to not drink. Thanks everyone!
I just hit 45 days. It’s so amazing! I wasn’t expecting such dramatic transformation, but I’m 15 pounds down and have lost over 4 inches on my waistline. I’ve been drinking pretty much every night for the past 14 years. My plan is to take a break for a solid year.
Some people can, some people can't. I know alcoholics that have to go completely dry and some that only drink once or twice a month when there is something to celebrate or just to have fun with some friends.
Kudos for the Video clip! Forgive me for butting in, I would appreciate your initial thoughts. Have you thought about - Saankramer Life Card System (do a google search)? It is an awesome one off product for learning how to stop drinking without the hard work. Ive heard some incredible things about it and my work colleague got amazing results with it.

Im over 2 months without it or cigs. Now started bodybuilding and clean eating, never felt better both mentally and physically, let alone all the money I’m saving. Fuck alcohol, life’s better without it
I did the 40 day no alcohol. Amazing feeling how the body and mind responds. After that, I totally cut down to almost no alcohol. I only have one craft beer to watch a ballgame every now and again. I have lost my taste for hard liquor, wine and cheap beer. My mindset has completely changed.
Been a heavy drinker for 20+ Years. Today is my 6th day without any alcohol. And i woke up this morning feeling energetic and great. It's been a long time since i felt this good. I'm going to try and remember this feeling next time i'm tempted to crack open a beer (Which should be about any time now........ In fact just typing this has made me want one.. But i'm not going to do it).

@@JustAnotherGeekX He isn’t doing the bing drinking anymore. He would be drunk an average of 15 nights a month. He has only drank a couple times in the past two months and controlled his intake (two drinks) and did not get drunk. He didn’t seem to have a physical addition (no signs of withdrawal when he quit). He said it wasn’t hard to quit. It was an emotional addiction and he needed to pull himself out of that rut. I can’t really explain it because I don’t really understand it. I’m just glad he changed his behavior.

I quit alcohol at 21, along with two of my friends. We still go to parties, social gatherings, meet girls and enjoy ourselves, just that we don’t over-indulge in cheap alcohol like we used to before. Now we stick to soda water or something of the sort. Some young guys, especially college students need to realize that drinking doesn’t make you any cooler, you make bad decisions most of the time, lose the following day due to hangovers and essentially put shit into your body
I lost it at about 100 days a little after christmas, no family around(1300 miles away). Got one chick that likes to hang out and make food and smoke weed, but I never really got into weed, she was outa town(never seems to be interested when I want to hang out but calls and calls and calls if I blow her off.) I've gota bunch of drinking buddies that have been hitting me up where are you, are you alright, etc, but they cant understand I dont want to drink and constantly bring it up. I've only got one friend that like "o you dont want to drink anymore, I've cut it down to one day a week(training)." but never bothers me if he wants a beer and I don't. I find it hard that all social activities revolve around some sort of drinking. Oddly enough I own a pub/pizzaria but its not hard there Im in charge, if I go in they dont even ask me if I want a beer, but I guess thats cause Im in charge and I told them I don't drink.
Me too mate gave up on 24/10/17 one of the best decisions I’ve ever made as I couldn’t have a couple of drinks I had to drink till I passed out or ran out of money and booze. And I would repeat that for a day or two or longer if i didn’t have to do anything.
Having now been without alcohol for 11 years , i can confirm , life is far better without it. In nearly every way. Yes one misses that effect a couple of drinks gives you…. But the adrenaline from exercise and contentment from being able to achieve so much more in other areas of life far far outways anything booze gives. And savings are massive. 🤗👍🏻🕸
Four years without drinking, from a bottle of wine every night, more at the weekends. The best thing i ever did was give up. I went from a 16 stone coach potato to a 12 stone marathon runner and always happy. If you're in any doubt about if you should give up the booze, do it today, you wont look back. Good luck.
Started drinking towards the end of an abusive relationship from absolute hell, to escape the emotional turmoil and unbearable pain. 2 years of alcoholism, relapsed twice, ended up in hospital with DTs. That was the turning point for me. Never going back to that dark place, again. 💪❤
70 years old and have been drinking since college days. Over the last three years I have 3-5 drinks a night . Not having problems with the drinking but after listening to this video and reading the responses I am giving up drinking for potential health reasons alone. Thanks for posting the video.
What is interesting to me in retrospect, is that it's just so easy to slide right into alcoholic and/or extreme binge drinking tendencies with relatively little realization that it's happening. At least for me. I went from casual social drinking to full blown alcoholic in almost no time flat. 4 years of being drunk non stop. It really takes it's mental and physical toll. The wonderful folks in these comments aren't lying to you at all......life really is better without the alcohol all the time. 1 month sober and still getting it!
I've done the 40 day total stop. Was not hard because I was not addicted or a daily drinker. For those who are, the hardest thing would to start and pass the 5 day stop. After that, it's a breeze! Try it!
I lost my job, education prospects and a stable household during the 2020 early pandemic. Although it was a horrible time, it was the wake up call to quit drinking and smoking. It been over a year now. Although I dream about having my old life back, these days I'm definitively healthier and happier.

A little over 2 weeks ago I had a cardiac episode that was directly related to alcohol. I had been drinking 3-4 litres of wine, or around a litre of brandy a day for years- in other words, enough alcohol each day to kill an inexperienced drinker. I didn't think it was causing me too many problems until I nearly keeled over. In just over 2 weeks I'm sleeping better, losing weight, getting more excercise and interacting more with my missus... and money! I'm easily saving $40 per day, and I'm a lot more likely to be alive to spend it on something other than booze.
Great effort man. It’s brilliant to read all the positive comments and reading about people who have given up. I’m almost three years sober but not really counting just forward focused. Drink is something none of us need and by not drinking it will save you a few quid aswell.
After trying and failing at stone cold quitting for many years of 'am I addicted?' or 'oh no I'm an alcoholic', I finally started just telling my own brain that I could, in fact, not drink if I didn't want to drink, telling myself 'I am not addicted' and mo'fo', it worked. Three years on and I very, very rarely have a drink, and I feel nearly zero compulsion to do so.
I'm here watching this after a very shameful bank holiday weekend and the anxiety has driven me insane today. I've done 100days sober before but realise it is desperately needed to reset my attitude towards drinking again. Time to run my mouth to everyone so 100 days is locked in.

@@StarxPlayz7 getting rid off conditioning is a very good religion. When you stop seeing muslims, christians and all kind of other labels, and you start seeing humans just like you.
I stopped drinking just over 3 years ago, not really with the intention of it being permanent but it is working out that way. I put a lot of time and effort into keeping fit so it made no sense to then sabotage my own training with alcohol, which while it wasn’t a huge problem, I could clearly see that it had a negative impact on my sleep. The start of the pandemic arrived, I had been sober for just over a year at this point, and where others were using alcohol as a means of coping with lockdowns, I decided it would be a really poor reason to resume drinking so I’ve stuck with it and have no plans to turn back. Just like in the video I do get sugar cravings but I think this is simply a sign that I’m not consuming enough calories to cover the exercise that I do and it’s a cue to eat more, albeit some proper food rather than sweets or junk food. It’s great to read all of the stories in the comments from people who have quit or are looking to quit, be strong folks, you can do it, it is worth it. I’d urge people who don’t think alcohol is a problem in their lives to try 100 days without it to see the impact it has on mood, energy levels, sleep quality, your waistline, your wallet etc. If you want the taste of a beer there’s so many good non-alcoholic beers available now, way more than 3 years ago, just try them with an open mind
66 Days without any alcohol. I was a functioning alcoholic. I only drank after 3pm and after work. I was doing this for well over 20 years. I built up a fantastic constitution. It was specific and calculated. I was sick. I just HAD to stop. I went cold turkey. The first two weeks were interesting, but no cravings really. I drink soda water with real lemon and water and tea now. Well done to all those on the wagon - any help I can be - hit me up. It's been a journey and my aim is 100 days and then 200 and then 300.
I drank everyday for 30 years missing only those days when it was impossible. Now i am quitting because i feel like shit all the time and wish i had done something better with my time/life.
Currently on day 3 trying to dive into every supportive video I can find. Have quit for 3 months and 7 months in the past and while it was scary, it was a great feeling. Even if you don't quit, doing the occasional 30 day, or 2 week, or whatever it may be, break is beneficial. And if you're in the middle of a 30 day cleanse/break, and someone offers you, just say your liver is on vacation.

I looked up this video because I want to stop. I am not an alcoholic, My drinking would likely be described as "moderate" by the society standarts. But I just feel that I am drinking more than I should. I feel that I am drinking because I do not feel happy, and I create this short illusion of happiness by drinking alcohol, which costs quite some money, only to feel like shit the next morning and feel even worse for the next two days. I have noticed that it has become a reality escape tool for me, rather than something occasional to have fun with, which means it's a huge red flag to stop. What does alcohol do anyway? It creates an illusion of fun, gives you a temporary happiness, for which you have to pay with several days of feeling down and depressed unless you drink up again. Most people do not realise that they work from Monday to Friday and the biggest thing they anticipated is the alcohol they will have on Friday to "celebrate the end of the work week". I caught myself doing that, and I asked myself a question: "are you working so you earn money and can rest on the weekend, or are you working so you can drink on the weekend?". This was what really hit me. I will try to stop drinking and nicotine completely. I think that trully happy people don't need any of these to be happy. And I want to MAKE myself happy. Not to create a temporary illusion of happy.
💯💯💯 this is exactly how i feel about my own drinking situation too. I’ve had way too many red flags throughout my years of drinking yet I still haven’t built up the courage to finally put down the drink up until recently, I only stopped two days ago but I wanna turn those into months and years and so on. Truthfully I feel I have mixed emotions when I think of my future without alcohol and my mind doesn’t even know what to think at that point but I’m sure after time of not drinking the end results will make it worth stopping. I’m gonna try to stay strong through this one. 🙏🏻
Sugar is a secondary issue. And at some point you have your fill and sugar craving naturally goes back to normal. At least in my experience. I think that toughest way to quit anything is when you are not motivated to do so.
After abusing booze and my girlfriend and kid leaving I’ve finally stopped the booze for the better. It’s been since November 29th of this year that I haven’t had a drop of booze I prey I can get my life the way it was. I quit for a year and a half but relapsed and was worse than ever for about 2.5 years. I’m trying again now. I just need to keep remembering just what it’s like to be trapped by alcohol. The secrecy, the ill health that you have to try to hide from people around you, the anxiety, depression, never getting a good night’s sleep. I miss drink like crazy but it was ruining my life and was only going to get worse.
Sober 12 weeks today! Was consumed by alcohol. Every day, every week, I feel better, no anxiety or panic episodes. Sleeping has improved, no more nightmares, etc., and no hangovers! I would like to know from those who have solved PTSD and anxiety, if they have solved it definitively and how to understand what quantity of psilocybin to take and when, for how long. And can you really heal without having an addiction? Thanks to everyone for helping me understand, I want to understand if it's something that can help me solve the problem (I have c-ptsd)
From my experience it really works excellently! It doesnt even need to be a full hit. With potent shrooms 2-3 small ones will still make a difference. It will be a few hour cosy rumbling arount in bed time, not being able to sleep with a brain in full gear and some color effects on the walls but afterwards its just calm and you feel amazing and gain your freedom. Awesome! great to hear. I think many people here can relate with your story. We were all "swindled" into thinking alcohol was beneficial by money hungry liquor companies. I fell into the trap.
3 weeks sober so far. From daily drinking of a bottle of wine or more, in the region of 100 units a week I was a "functioning" alcoholic. The array of alcohol free options now available help quite a bit, but they're still loaded with calories. I find myself making alcohol free shandies or just having a cold diet drink quite often instead. I find I'm a little more irritable, times like those it's good to excuse myself and head to the gym.

I currently have 36 years sober. I realized after the first 6 months sober that I no longer had suspicious dents in my car and I didn't have money withdrawn from the bank but I couldn't account for. People at work started to talk to me in a Kinder way and best of all I no longer had total strangers walking up to me and saying that was really great the other night!

30 days here. Its been one of the hardest months ever. Mood swings, depression, fatigue...realizing how low ive actually sunk in my life...broke, barely a place to stay....this reality is brutal. I can barely hold a job. I feel like i need more time to mentally recover so i can join society again. My first 2 weeks i tried to put my life together and nearly burned my mind out. Passed yp a good job opportunity because i just wasnt mentally ready to take on that kind of responsibility. Man, this is tough. I started a low carb diet two years ago. Since that time I have lost 45 pounds. My BMI is 25 so now weigh the same as in college 40 years ago. My Chol ratio went from 5.5 to 3.5 Triglycerides from 111 to 57. I exercise the same as I have since my early 20's. I do eat more protein than in the past. Breakfast is 3 strip of bacon, three eggs. I never eat lunch as I am not hungry. I try and eat no breakfast at least once or twice a week. Three weeks ago I cut out alcohol, I am amazed at how I feel. I was only having drinks on weekends, but without it at all I feel like a totally new person. My doctor was thrilled with my results, so am I. I wanted to share my story to hopefully inspire others. Good health is within your grasp, it does take willpower, but you can do it.
Dinner for me is chicken, fish, pork or beef along with fresh vegetables and a salad most evenings. I do eat potatoes a few times a week as we grow them in our garden, but almost never breads or other flour products. I hope that answers you question. Cheers.

5 years ago I was rushed to the hospital with a hemorrhaging liver in my esophagus, that’s how swollen it was and I almost died ,doctors told me only 50% of people that get that die. I just started drinking again and I feel like shit it’s been 3 months now and my liver hurts like hell.how could I start drinking again what a dumb ass,but I felt it coming on ,and now I believe I should have been in therapy all along, because we as people are all messed up in our own way, even the therapists know this because they go to therapy,I hope I can quit again and get therapy,to my fellow sober alcoholics never let your guard down because all it takes is one thought to have a drink,so that’s why I think therapy is very important if you can afford it or find a good AA group to get you through the hard times,I don’t want to die ,I hope I make it.!
I'm 24 havnt drank for almost 2 years now and it really does change your life. I'm a terrible binge drinker, I can't have a pint without going on a binge but never wanted to drink during the week, cutting it out all together has eradicated any urge to drink on weekends and I feel so much better for it
I don't drink anymore. I was exactly the same, never drank in the week. But even one binge session on the weekend would wreck me for the week, you don't realise but it affects you even 3 days afterwards. Went down the local for a couple of quick ones in the afternoon on the weekend, get chatting and before I knew it was midnight and I was hammered. Stopped me doing exciting things with my wife, nowadays I go to the gym regularly and in the best shape of my life, regular hiking, enjoy more meals out, all relationships have improved. Although I did lose some friendships through stopping drinking but if those people stop inviting you places simply for the fact you don't want to have a drink then that says more about them than it does about you. I've been told very occasionally I'm ruining it for people because I make them feel anxious of the fact they're drinking and I'm not. They'd rather push me to have a drink themselves because that's easier than for them not to have one and yet they can't see how sad they sound. It makes me cringe because that used to be me.
I have heard Joe Walsh many times talk about alcohol addiction which nearly ended his life. He said that once it has a hold of one, they start to believe that they cannot live without it.

But why? You can drink like 4 drinks a week and suffer no ill effects. Let's not pretend that 4 beers wouldn't be one fun night a week.....
Amazing how your social circle changes (and finances improve) once you quit the drink.

Currently on day 3 trying to dive into every supportive video I can find. Have quit for 3 months and 7 months in the past and while it was scary, it was a great feeling. The trouble now is I'm with a girl I love who loves drinking and going out. I'm honestly terrified that sobriety will make her want to leave, but I'll lose a lot more if I keep drinking like I am. Appreciate all of the supportive comments y'all have provided, if you have helpful videos please let me know!
BRAVO My way to stay sober is through personal development including planning the day, every day I write down in a notebook my list of things to do, great notebooks with quotes for recovering alcoholics are on amazon, search: "hungry man notebooks". I haven't drunk for 555 days and I'm happy
Do you want to be with a girl who considers you a lesser person because you don’t drink. I think the word you’re looking for is “no”.
Even if you don't quit, doing the occasional 30 day, or 2 week, or whatever it may be, break is beneficial. And if you're in the middle of a 30 day cleanse/break, and someone offers you, just say your liver is on vacation.
Drank everyday for 49 years. Now 1 week without. Feeling great. Trying to keep clean. I hope it gets easier.
Hope you were able to do it Al...and if you weren't - its never too late to start over and try again!
@@leevancleef358 BIG THANK YOU Lee. Making lots of progress. Not there yet.
One week since my last drink. These kind of videos help keep me motivated so far.
I'm 32 years old, been drinking since I was 20. now I'm 3 weeks sober and counting , I HOPE I can maintain it. . energy is uprising and mentally healthy. . .
Same here. I just celebrated 6 months. It gets easier with time but you need to resist the cravings. They can come fast and anything can trigger them. Fight the temptation and you will succeed. Good luck to you.
Think you hit the nail on the head there regards paying for temporary relief.
You're so right.
Wellbutrin can really help with quitting smoking and can help with any desire to drink. This was my experience.
This is so well said!! I am sober now and the reason is private. I now enjoy much 💦 hydration, time, and money 💰!!!
1:10 great point that gets overlooked, quitting alchohol AND sugar, at the same time, is much tougher.
Yes!
Sugar is a secondary issue. And at some point you have your fill and sugar craving naturally goes back to normal. At least in my experience. I think that toughest way to quit anything is when you are not motivated to do so.
Today is my 82th day of alcohol abstinence looking forward to 100th day!
I'm into Day 12 booze free.Seems to be getting easier but a long way to go.Thanks for video. Its been great help.
I quit drinking and smoking around the same time 3 years ago. I'm 50 and have never felt better in my life!
After abusing booze and my girlfriend and kid leaving I’ve finally stopped the booze for the better. It’s been since November 29th of this year that I haven’t had a drop of booze
I prey I can get my life the way it was. Because the booze wasn’t worth losing my family at all and to anyone dealing with this. Trust me pick your family over the poison.
Kudos to you, all the best for the future.
@Billy Mack, Texas Detective Ja since November 29th, 2021. Sorry for being confusing my friend.
It just sucks when you don't have a family
@@ineedhoez but you have friends and most importantly you have yourself. You need to show yourself that you have self-respect to stop doing something that doesn’t bring happiness to you. Replace your addiction with a positive reaffirming activity that’ll make you feel as good as taking a shot of booze.
I continue to have sugar cravings, yet have lost 20 lbs, cannot say I am overweight or underweight. Mental clarity and focus, I believe took some time, yet has improved significantly. Sleeping has improved, no more nightmares, etc., and no hangovers! What to do when you no longer drink or recover from drinking......I challenged with, and make a to do list, don't always complete it, yet there is tomorrow. I wish everyone great health and recovery from such a toxic poison, God Bless everyone! Oh yes, I must mention, everyday I Thank God for my Sobriety!!
As long as you think there's a benefit to drinking, you will return to the alcohol trap.
@AvengeVoltaire there are no benefits to drinking a poison.
@AvengeVoltaire literally zero benefits. It is poison in any amount
Alcoho and cigarettes addiction actually destroyed my life. I could remember several years ago after divorce with my wife which brought me into my disastrous journey on Alcohol and cigarettes. I suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Got diagnosed with cptsd. Not until a friend recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment saved my life honestly. 8 years totally clean. Much respect to mother nature the great magic shrooms.
Can you help me with the reliable source 🙏. I'm 56 and have suffered for years with addiction, anxiety and severe ptsd, I got my panic attacks under control myself years ago and they have come back with a vengeance, I'm constantly trying to take full breaths but can't get the full satisfying breath out, it's absolutely crippling me, i live in Germany. I don't know much about these mushrooms. Really need a reliable source!! Can't wait to get them.
YES very sure of Dr.benfungi. I have the same experience with anxiety, depression, PTSD and addiction and Mushrooms definitely made a huge huge difference to why am clean today.
Yes he's Dr.benfungi.Shrooms to me is a natrual healer. I know a guy who has used mushrooms in the same way and they have really helped him. mah dudes have safe trips all.
I would like to know from those who have solved PTSD and anxiety, if they have solved it definitively and how to understand what quantity of psilocybin to take and when, for how long. And can you really heal without having an addiction?
Thanks to everyone for helping me understand, I want to understand if it's
something that can help me solve the problem (I have c-ptsd)
From my experience it really works excellently! It doesnt even need to be a full hit. With potent shrooms 2-3 small ones will still make a difference. It will be a few hour cosy rumbling arount in bed time, not being able to sleep with a brain in full gear and some color effects on the walls but afterwards its just calm and you feel amazing and gain your freedom. Psilocybin is different dudes, its the only "drug" I would recommend to someone who genuinely wants to get better. There is no addiction, withdrawal, or negative side effects. It's just pure healing., far more effective than any anti-depressant. You can thank me later
4 months sober. Woke up one morning and taught to myself anything that ever went wrong in my life was to do with alcohol. I'm 42 and will never drink again..
You can never blame alcohol again...isn't that a beautiful thing!
8 years of continued sobriety for me.
👌🏻
In 2 hrs ill be 8 days sober. Just left my gym i felt like drinking so i worked out instead.
4208jason I wouldn’t be sober without regular AA meetings. It’s the only thing that has worked for me personally, the gym certainly helps but It’s not enough as I’m still irritable, restless & discontent. Meetings relieve me of those uncomfortable feelings I drank on and give me identification & support to realise I’m not on my own. Maybe give it a try if it works for me it can work for you. Good luck. 👍🏻
I've been addicted to alcohol as a teen and it devastated my junior colleague years and fucked all my relations n career. But 5 years from then, I've been totally dry and it is just amazing. Havent even touched it.
Why not just keep going? 100 days is a cakewalk once you’re in the swing. I’m at almost a year and will never look back.
Maybe he doesn’t want to?
@@globalgears5175 Mindblowing that someone gives themselves the gift of sobriety then throws it away. Humans truly are irrational creatures.
Diogenes' Lantern Let me ask you... Do you drink coffee or soda? And do you take medicine when you get a headache?
@@globalgears5175 Ah, okay let's hear what little ill-conceived analogy you have for me. Out with it then...
Diogenes' Lantern that’s not an answer to my question lol. Answer my question and I will elaborate.
Im on 40 days today! Ive been drinking since I was underage. Many years spent being hungover not doing the things i wanted to do nor completing goals i wanted to complete. Im ready though, I told everyone it was only for a month but really in my mind its for the year, but if i said that people would be shocked and probably not have believed me so im just running with well another month cause it feels good.
Awesome! great to hear.
This should actually be called 55 days without alcohol, 1 day with alcohol and then another 44 days without alcohol
Catchy title for sure
At least he didn't hide it
You're right Pat
What would be quite the title lol
Yeah it's fucking stupid imo
Day 7 clean today. I drove 1800 km from Cape Town to Swakopmund,Namibia under the influence from the moment I crossed the border. 120km from home I went through a manned speed trap clocked at 165km/h . By some miracle they didn’t smell my breath and let me off the fine. The next morning I said no more. God is good .
Yes!! Love this!! It was so epic to watch. I did 100 days earlier this year and it literally has changed my life, relationship with myself, and relationship with alcohol FOREVER. Thank you so much for sharing, I hope it inspires others to embrace some changes too!
There is nothing more attractive than an intelligent, sober man. Keep up the awesome work and inspire others.

Ive done shrooms last month in my house. It taught me how severely traumatized I was from alcohol. I healed from many mental traumas from my past and was able to forgive, let go. Shrooms to me is a remedy not a vice. I even felt more refreshed the
morning after. So no hangovers. No
depression mood for days. No anxiety.I now
have a more calm mind

I currently have 36 years sober. I realized after the first 6 months sober that I no longer had suspicious dents in my car and I didn't have money withdrawn from the bank but I couldn't account for. People at work started to talk to me in a Kinder way and best of all I no longer had total strangers walking up to me and saying that was really great the other night!
I hear you! Especially when “strangers” you were talking to the whole night before start speaking to you the next day/week. It’s so embarrassing and very worrying as you’ve no idea who they are or what you’ve said.
5 years and counting without a drink. one of the best gifts i ever gave myself
Well done, mate. I’ve now done 2 years, 4 months without booze. I don’t miss it at all.
I just hit my 50 day mark! I feel SO MUCH happier and healthier. I am building out my van this year to travel and work in film. I am so psyched!
Hey how old are you now? And how many times a week did you use to drink?
Currently going on 13 days and I feel like absolute shit, but it's for my own mental health, and family. Watching these type of videos to keep me pushing 😅

Im going to see a doctor in a few days so hopefully that helps.
24 years of being a heavy binge drinker has caught up to me. And also.ive changed where ive lived so often i became attached to no one...i have alot to deal with....
I thought i was just traveling and having fun....yes and and.no....I was also running...from.myself...my pain...So yeah we all drink for different reasons...
Honest post. One of the best ive read here. How you doing brother?
Honesty takes courage. Lots of respect for you
Well done great effort - I’m starting the same journey now. Day 14 today 😯
For those just starting sobriety... it gets easier with time! Keep busy with good things and relate with supportive people who "get" the importance of sobriety.
Someone once told me alcohol gives you wings but it takes away the sky,I'm 4 months sober I've been into social events to and it dosent bother me in the slightest.Nothing has a hold of me anymore,I'm in control of my life,I beat it and it feels great.
I decided to stop drinking last week after I blacked out for the first time and barely made it home in one piece. This experience scared me straight and made me want to never experience something like this again. I want to live the healthiest life I can live from now on. Thank you for sharing this video.
Lol I remember my first time
I'm on four months one week as of yesterday. Still have the odd craving but totally worth the fact that my little girl now actually wants to spend time with me.
Not easy esp in this pandemic. Well done 👍

Same here! Can we get an update?
10 days and trying to be strong.
Im on day 7. How you been doing?
I'm day 66, after the first couple of weekends came and went it was easy then it becomes a lifestyle choice for me anyway. If u see it as a constant battle its gonna be a long 100 days. Personally I'm enjoying it.
Your life is worth the sacrifice
Its strange to me how drinking too much is 'normal' or reality (as said at the end), i dont drink at all (but still go out with people that do etc) hence its interesting to see how important it seems to be to everyone else.
Good on you! Today is 115 days of no alcohol (beer is my drink) and no added-sugar or ultra processed foods for me. Added meditation and exercise also. Like you, I have fatty liver and triglyceride imbalance. Getting better each day! Keep on in 2022!
Keep it up. 22 years on 1/1/22 here. Worth every minute.
What about dinner?
Dinner for me is chicken, fish, pork or beef along with fresh vegetables and a salad most evenings. I do eat potatoes a few times a week as we grow them in our garden, but almost never breads or other flour products. I hope that answers you question. Cheers.
Did 6 months this year, was amazingly fit in June. After splitting up with my g/f I went back to drinking. Will give up on Jan 1st again and this time try and beat the 6 months and push for a year plus

How are you doing?
Since that post, torn miniscus in both knees ,arthroscopic surgery in both, bursted appendix, colon cancer, sepsis twice, still here, but did Quit Drinking
You are a brave man. Your life is worth the sacrifice.
