- Join me for a relaxing ride along the Yampa River Core Trail in Steamboat Springs, Colorado - A family-friendly pathway that provides amazing recreation opportunities AND a connected utilitarian route that reminds me of many Dutch cycle networks I've taken that connect many cities, towns, and villages. This separated and protected multi-use path is a true gem and one of the most beloved activity assets in the region. Another in my Cycle Zen series, hehe :-)

Background:
Hi Everyone! My name is John Simmerman, and I’m a health promotion and public health professional with over 30 years of experience. Over the years, my area of concentration has evolved into a specialization in how the built environment influences human behavior related to active living and especially active mobility.
Since 2010, I've been exploring, documenting, and profiling established, emerging, and aspiring Active Towns wherever they might be while striving to produce high-quality multimedia content to help inspire the creation of more safe and inviting, environments that promote a "Culture of Activity" for "All Ages & Abilities."
The Active Towns Channel features my original video content and reflections, including a selection of podcast episodes and short films profiling the positive and inspiring efforts happening around the world as I am able to experience and document them.
Thanks once again for tuning in! I hope you find this content helpful and insightful.

looks good watching now.
Nice area to bike and play. Great parks everywhere.
That's a really beatiful place!
Fun picking out the best spots for a picnic, birdwatching, and later a baseball game along the Yampa Trail. Here in Paris we can get free front row seats for the French baseball championships at Pershing Stadium in bike-friendly Vincennes forest. And even met a coach of the "French Le Blind Baseball League" (that's what they call it).
Durango also has a wonderful bike path. I like it because it has some ups and downs. Now we just need a path to connect all the towns and cities together to make Colorado a biking paradise.
Oh my, the trail is pretty indeed. Was there any noticable ascending and descending, bc on camera it looked like there wasnt any.
In. my visits to Steamboat, it's hard to miss the pressure on downtown Steamboat with US 40 being both a highway and a main street. I would think the Yampa Trail can begin to reduce pressure on US 40. Fun to see.
Beautiful trail, beautiful country.
A 15 mph limit sounds fast to me. In Mission Bay the limit is 8 mph.
Man there's hardly any people riding bicycles in that town..
