HOLY SHIT IM IN A TERABRITE VIDEO! WOOOOOO
Hi, long time fan of your music yet I haven't kept up with your music covers until lately. Saw that you talked about this studio tour in one of your other videos and I thought hey I will go and check it out. Now being a long time Florida local I really liked your home town appeal and simple but not over the top computer set up you had in your Vlogs. After coming back and checking out your music and this video I feel that you have lost the home town Florida vibe that you use to have and budget to mid-level hometown "nice kid" attitude that you use to have in those Vlogs. I also feel that you two are turning into upscale RUclips kids. That being said I feel that because you have gotten more popular and have some brand deals and money you are now acting like some of the people I dislike on RUclips. What I mean is you still make good covers (music) and video game videos but some of the stuff you said you were going to do before you haven't done (ie a full Album of your own original music) and have instead jumped onto things that have given you more views (ie gaming). Keep up the good work and don't let your success go to your heads. Also I really was hoping that you had moved out of your parents house and bought your own place because that shows more growth to me. Lastly, when are you two going to get married?
Hey Matthew, this is DJ. I appreciate you being a long time fan, I'm glad you're stopping by, and I totally get your concerns. Although it's totally understandable why it may come off that way in this video, it's clear to me there's a misunderstanding here. Since you're a long time fan you deserve some explanation, so I'm going to try and explain everything as best as I can.

- A vlog is a totally different beast than a home/studio tour. Vlogs are simply a matter of whipping out a camera and talking to it about your day in a personal tone like it's your friend, whereas home tours like this are generally planned out ahead of time, you know what you're going to say, and energy/attitude wise most people (including us) tend to go into this with a sort of overly energized, braggy, on top of the world vibe in attempt to parody the vibe of an MTV Cribs episode.. There's really no good way to say "look at all of this stuff I own" that doesn't come off as bragging, so you have no choice but to bring comedy into it, you know what I mean? The point I'm making is you can't judge our character by watching this video, but I promise you we act no different than we used to. As for the change from living in a budget to mid-level hometown, my parents built the studio because they do videos with groups of children and the garage wasn't cutting it due to size and lack of air conditioning in the Florida heat. The issue is, adding the addition required us to remove my room which would make the house only 2 bedrooms, so they had no choice but to add a second story on top to take advantage of all the dead space that was added with the addition and we just got lucky in this scenario to get an office out of it as well.
2. "That being said I feel that because you have gotten more popular"
- This couldn't be further from the truth. We are less popular than we have ever been actually! Our views are down, our subscriber gains are down, hardly anyone ever gets our videos in their sub box, and when we go to conventions hardly anyone cares about us anymore whereas back in the day people used to notice us everywhere we went. In addition to that, I don't know if you noticed but rock music is a dying genre at this point. We get more and more comments everyday from kids that we're old timers for playing music with guitars and drums, it's so weird!
3. "and have some brand deals and money you are now acting like some of the people I dislike on RUclips."
- There aren't actually any "brand deals" in this video at all. Every product we talk about in this studio tour happened to be a brand we reached out to personally in attempt to convince them to help us with a discount in return for promotion of their product on our channel because we don't have enough money for this stuff. The reason we want this stuff is to allow us to put out content at a faster rate as well as up our game on RUclips so we can attempt to stand out from the constantly growing crowd of RUclipsrs who all do the same thing as us now. If you've watched us for as long as you say you have you would know we are serious tech geeks and are always looking into new technology especially when it involves upping our production quality for our music or videos.
4. "What I mean is you still make good covers (music) and video game videos but some of the stuff you said you were going to do before you haven't done (ie a full Album of your own original music) and have instead jumped onto things that have given you more views (ie gaming)."
- I believe we touched on this topic in a Q&A recently, but we've been struggling with making the album for quite some time. The issue we keep running into is we start working on the album, record some songs, and then decide to just release the songs because we like them, and then a few months later our entire approach to producing music and writing songs changes and ends up sounding COMPLETELY different from the songs we previously wrote. If we were to continue the album from there the album wouldn't feel cohesive at all so we are forced to start over. That said, one of the main reasons we got the vocal booth, second computer room, etc. was so we can focus on our music and finally have a set in stone setup to allow us to put out music faster and finally release that album we keep talking about. As for the gaming videos, we've always done them and genuinely love doing them. The only difference is as I said we've been getting everything situated for this 2 computer setup (the second computer is set up but we're still installing all of the proper applications that we need which are very pricey and we're stilling saving up money for it) to allow us to do both gaming and music at the same time.
It's also worth noting that believe it or not we literally don't make any money on this channel because the videos aren't monetized due to most of them being covers and when we can monetize them the videos don't reach the 10 minute mark and it's always been that way. I'm not saying that's a reason for us to not make music, (as you can see we still do because we love it) but without TeraBrite Games we wouldn't even be making close to enough money to make RUclips a sustainable full time job for us and as a result there would probably be no music or videos at all. Once we have a good setup and are able to put out more music we've been considering starting a Patreon for this channel to give back to our biggest supports and also to make it more profitable and give us incentive to release more music, but that will take some time.
5. "Keep up the good work and don't let your success go to your heads."
- Again, we are less successful than we have ever been. Due to algorithm changes, RUclips glitches, the change in viewers interests as a whole, and the rising popularity of literally thousands of RUclipsrs, RUclips has actually been a serious struggle lately.. not just for us but everyone we talk to on RUclips. Before reading this comment we had actually just got done talking about how discouraging RUclips has been lately. There's so many RUclipsrs that have just completely left RUclips all together because of it, but we keep pushing through because it's honestly our passion.
6. "Also I really was hoping that you had moved out of your parents house and bought your own place because that shows more growth to me."
- Our living situation is unique because my parents are RUclipsrs too. We help each other with videos, we share our equipment, bounce around ideas, and obviously share the studio as well. There's also many personal reasons why we haven't left that we would rather not get into, but long story short this is our best case scenario and we all enjoy it.
7. "Lastly, when are you two going to get married?
- This is also something we touched on in a Q&A recently as well as in many vlogs, but we are simply not traditional. Maybe it will happen one day but it simply isn't a priority to us. We already know we are in love and don't feel as though we need a ring and ceremony to validate that we will be together forever. We're not against it at all, but it's just not a priority to either of us.
Hopefully that cleared some things up! We've actually been getting a lot of comments today from random people like you who talk about how they haven't watched our videos in years, I'm so glad to see subscribers from years ago commenting again.. sort of gives me some hope for the future!

DJ, do you use PT, ableton, Logic, or anything else or just Vegas? I've never heard of the software but I only work with audio. Also what do you use for preamps, A/D conversion, and do you use any UAD plugins? Still pretty jealous of the set up
+dannooooooo VEGAS Pro is for video, we use Cubase for music. We have a Fireface UCX interface and use the preamps and A/D conversion built into that. We have a Universal Audio Solo/610 which used to be our go to preamp for vocals but lately we find the convenience of using the Firefaces built in preamps more appealing than the slight difference in preamp quality. We do not use any UAD plugins, mostly waves, iZotope, JST, and FabFilter for general mixing plugins and then an assortment of other things for other purposes. Thanks for watching!
+TeraBrite oh also we have a countryman type 85 for guitar DI and Cloudlifter for when we use the SM7B or any other dynamic mics.

+Jason12kool of course. We're just waiting until we are in a financial position to have 2 computers so I (DJ) can record and whatnot while Sabrina is working on gaming videos because currently the gaming videos are our main source of income and unfortunately recording takes up way too much computer time at the moment. It's not like we don't have original music though, it's just that over the years we kept talking about releasing an album but opted to releasing single songs at a time because the whole album would've taken too long so we just released songs as we made them.
I can respect that, I'm sure it takes a while to get everything done especially for an album with your guys current situation so i understand that. I'm just a big fan of the songs you two make for TeraBrite I think that's where you two really shine as the great musicians you are. I love your covers too, the gaming videos, and your other content as well don't get me wrong. Just saying you two deserve all the support and love you get cause you are both very talented and hard working people that's for sure!

James Winterswolf Believe it or not, it's not overexposed. The exported clips on our computer look perfect but for some reason RUclips made it all brighter. Kinda of weird but didn't think it was so bad that we needed to reupload or something.
