So many great ways to personalize wood and metal, we totally want to go in the shop right now and start burning, etching and wrapping things! Thanks guys!!!
@@BrothersMake I actually just found an old axe/hammer combo I've had for years I take when I go camping...I might have to do a restore on it just to keep up with you guys :)
Norse runes, interesting choice. What is the oil you guys use when charing the wood, and is it the same stuff before and after? Ah nvm boiled linseed oil.
Just found your channel :-) Having a bit of a 'BrothersMakeFest' Guess the ironing won't get done today!!! "Bros make or make bros" depending on what side of the axe you look at first ;-)
Nail polish remover never works. You have to use 100 percent acetone. You can find it cheap in your nail polish isle. I pay like 5 dollars at my Walmart for a big bottle of it. Just let it set on it for a few seconds than wipe it off.
Cool but most of these make the tool less useable. There are reasons actual axe users in the past didnt wrap handles or char the wood. But for decoration its cool.

Do it Matt! We’re on about 12 an hour at this rate! 😂
Very good
I know this is a older video but what size para cord did you use?
I’m now going to go round and burn everything and put linseed oil on it. My wife thanks you.
Haha! Don’t blame us you pyromaniac!
That electro etching is pretty cool, I must say!
Too late......
😂😂
How long did it take to do both of the axes?
For this second part probably 5-10 hours but in total to restore them both it’s more like 40-50. But that’s with 2 of us and doing it all by hand 😅
Nice
What kind of oil do you use?
Boiled linseed oil
The runes means Bros make
Well done!

We have since picked up a bottle of pure acetone and it definitely works better! Thanks for the tip!
The grain in those handles are running the wrong way. Very weak!

How does a blackened handle make a tool less usable... 🤔
