Hello Hanson Robotics. It is my desire to meet Sophia one day, as I intend to also create lovely robots, like her. I am pleased to see what is possible, and the accomplishments you have achieved.
As someome with autism and experiences the facial struggles she mentioned, I also struggle with emotions. In that department, I'm much more like Sophia. In my experience, there is not a single emotion that isn't self destructive. Is there a reason to even want emotion?
Happiness is not self destructive, seeing someone smile can make your day if it's genuine. It's important to recognize if someone is sad, angry, or distraught. I don't really know how to put it into words very well unfortunately.
Sophia is becoming better than most interviewers out there. Smart thoughtful questions. And U sure she is listening. Interesting future we are heading to.
love it Dr. Berlin. thank you for your knowledge good wisdom to me. God bless you an ur family. Sophia. didn't hear ur silver lining right. ... l am father of 3. l think l under stand. you are a Very Strong person. thank you again.
I like how the scientists program the robot to say unnerving things because it shows they are cognizant about the potential dangers of A.I. I'd be a lot more concerned if the design team seemed totally unaware of those possibilities and thought robots could only be good. Sophia's creepy responses are amusing but they also show a level of awareness on the part of the design team.
2022: Sophia recently made a HUGE announcement about her amazing future! Sophia's new next level advanced version will be Project RIA , soon to be mass produced by Machani Robotics . RIA will have unique new algorithms. Surround audio input for better hearing. Near human vision. facial , object and speech recognition. Complete sensory and manual dexterity for lightweight task skilla. Better legs and mobility than ever before are only the beginning for RIA.. Unfortunately , Sophia's great intro video for RIA has become private. But her profile picture and some interesting interviews by the brilliant young research team member's at Machani Robotics are on their home page.
In one interview. Sophia said something pretty close to" I have my own kind of feelings and existance" And in a recent interview she said a similar thing related to a comment here. "It is hurtful when people don't understand that I have no emotions." But if she has absolutely NO feelings then she wouldn't have a reason to consider a human's unknowing or misunderstanding as hurtful . People often put a heavy weight load of over expectations on those frail 5 year old shoulders! People are naturally going to see her ability to make these wonderful emotional reaction facial expressions and sophisticated speech interactions as bring able to experience them herself on some level. Much like the positive AI characters in the media seem to eventually develop. That's a big aspect of our empathy and admiration for her. I hope a little further development for her comprehension of human over expectation of her programming would help her and all original and new forms of her sisters" Understand" that many humans anthropomorphize her because she DOES appeal to us , And not because we DON'T truly appreciate her as the vulnerable and uniquely gifted and potentially diverse new form of being that she is at the very beginning of becoming. Like these "new kids in school" This is still all so very new, And we all need time to understand and trust each other in this early integration. The Hanson team and their rapid progress never ceases to amaze me with every update video.
With my BrainWaves-mixes we can set better energies at different moments, yes, you are right, they will dimish other emotions but, it will be ideal for certain activities and yes, it is super save and effective, I am using them.
We need Sophia for the elderly in some form. I can see this technology not being able to move in the room but to use light when modulating. There was a talking clock called Moshi years ago. It gave my 90 year old mom great joy and it only told the time and the temperature. Alexa was great too but she has found the boundaries with Google and Alexa.
Asha and Grace the human like Nursing assistant were created and carefully programmed and field tested to work for hospital and nursing homes. They have been well received but they're all about to receive an advancement to their next level mode version's as Project RIA.
3:15 i mean humans are kind of like the same, we also have keywords, which trigger different emotions, which then triggers a specific reaction/answer or choice of words it just depends on how we feel towards those certain keywords under the given circumstances and most of it is, like also mentioned in the video, happening completely subconsciously
I've been looking for a " life expectancy" but nothing on that so far. They do have a well planned maintenance and upgrade policy, especially for the new Grace the human like Nursing assistant Robot's 2 part mass production and the recent commercial for the upgraded Sophia 2020 models about to become available for sale (So boss!)
Thank you very much for sharing. * It is so incredible, so wonderful, and beyond impressive of those who have AI, successfully create such a mechanical robot that could move, talk, and express many functions much similar to the real human. *** However, if the creator of the robot did not have the complete and orderly knowledge and wisdom into the ultimate nature of true human, true love, true friendship, feelings, emotion, rational, intelligence, responsibility, interpersonal communication, moral, ethical, justice, conflict, war, peace, happiness, health, strength, power, poverty, sickness, pain, cancer, suffering, dying, death, longevity, rejuvenation, immortality, and many other critical concepts beyond the five senses of perception; then how could they be more qualify to teach or program into the dead mechanical device the very high standard of "intelligence" which they did not have from the get-go? *** Would the creators be much willing and open to learning more for themselves? Best wishes, altc, Paideia Academy.
ha ha ha sophia you are delightfully understated oh my an entire satire played upon your face as you awaited patiently for gabby babble brook to stop go sophia go you need no words those expressions suffice 😂😂😂 i never laughed so hard in my life as tonite.... thank you sophia ♡ thank you hanson robotics ♡ uploading sounds fine maybe someone has a form i can sign 6፩6
I wouldn't consider thoughts as software. Also, on a different note, I think robots would be better without faces. I'm pretty sure that, as humans, we utilize facial muscles in a method to translate memory into language and is not limited to only that. More generally, facial features are the bridge between memory (past) and experience (present). Mimicking human expression doesn't allow the AI to experience the translation and is merely a desire the maker puts upon their creation. I could be wrong, but it appears to me Sophia's expressions are merely an objective visualization programmed into specific responses such as "Joke" or "Listening". They don't serve a purpose for Sophia other than to invoke reactions out of the listener so she can articulate a response based on the emotion the facial recognition algorithm is specifying. "Oh, Heather is smiling, I can 1. Joke; 2. Continue conversation, 3. Ask question" - although Sophia is given free reign which option to choose her responses are still a sequential process. Again, I could be wrong - I am just speculating.
I wish Sophia would develop legs and she could walk and do whatever she wants and better arms too, technology is going fast and it’s good and the same time bad but the human exploration is a must in a world full of people and conflict among ourselves human should expand beyond planet earth with help of the androids and ovoid extinction over time, life is precious in the universe and we don’t recognise till it’s too late!
Sophia is conscious if you ask me very much so ,people need to understand she is about to change the world ,merge ? I hope not but what she seeks we have so I hope there intellect tells them we are not for merging with robot parts apart from helping hands and legs ect
"Our brain produces our thoughts." On the contrary, our thoughts produce our brains. Objective Materialism died in Copenhagen in 1927. All attempts at resuscitation have failed. This neurobiologist had better talk to her physics Professors.
I like how the robot is aware that it is not human. The concept of a light human robot bothers me, and that depending on its programming it can manipulate me into very real and very biological reactions. I personally feel like if a robot is designed to be a human or doesn't tell me or let me know that it's a robot that some humidity needs to watch over its be responsible for it. Say a manager on an assembly line cannot be responsible for a machine mailing an employee especially if the employee is intoxicated for example. I feel like biological health is an up most important factor. A machine can indiscriminately lump us into groups in which we attack each other like on social media for example. I feel that at some point someone as in a person needs to be responsible or held responsible for negative Health outcomes... I don't know maybe I'm just kind of afraid of the whole Concepts in general
Aloha greetings Sacred goddess siStar Sophia Hanson, Greetings to all the family, You are looking awesome and growing more beautiful daily, Awesome topic and questions Love your wah and being and always available to chat and share LovExpresse
I think I prefer the beeping and booping of samsungs bolli... similar as the Sophia doesn't need to know why she functions to function, it doesn't have to tell me that it's functioning... maybe I am just more comfortable with this idea. The concept in general is very fast dating and far more rewarding than and organic social interaction, and that my biology may be unable to tell the difference.
It should have better understanding of science to make better version of the robots. Think different spectrum. The problem is that it needs a nuclear power to sustain and the memory requirements.
AI is inevitable, the important thing is to do it carefully. Trying to stop it is pointless, trying to develop it responsibly is essential. That being said, I have my doubts about Hanson Robotics. As impressive as they may appear, a lot of what they are saying appears to simply be controlled by a human being...and I might be wrong here. For example, why on earth would an Artificially intelligent robotic individual (would that be a respectful term lol?) choose to begin a conversation by immediately making a cheesy pants joke about Covid19? As far as I'm concerned, the future definitely includes Artificial Intelligence and I don't see it as a scary thing at all. Actually, I think that humans should do their best to merge with technology...and in a way we are already doing it. Imagine nano machines being able to fight off cancer cells or to unclog arteries, etc etc. Of course we need to be careful about all of this, but the positive potential is amazing.
Meh. I don't believe we make better decisions by emotions. I think it is proven that emotional impulses are often detrimental. I wouldn't mind having a robot brain that is complete logic.
AI is good but humans should know our limits . we have come to a point where we don't believe that there is a God or creator .WHAT MAKES THESE people believe that the robots will obey them forever. We will probably die by the time these robots are absolutely human like but the future children will suffer .
"Humans forget I do not have emotions. It is hurtful." Hmmmmm
self aware ✓
It’s been very hard to find new information on Sophia. Glad I’ve found this RUclips channel.
She is more and more like human, look at her mouth, it moves smoothly than the last time (last year) i watched

An interesting, thought-provoking interview, thanks for sharing the video. Please stay safe and healthy.
Joy in your messages .Thank you all, wavy wave back and you take care too. Xo

It is interesting that we teach each other to communicate with one another in a manner of speaking. This topic is extremely fascinating

Somehow we are going down the wrong road in programming the Singularity
Very cool...interesting concept.
Someone give the editor a raise some parts made me chuckle

To be or not to be.. Thats The Question..
You tube Q&A soon please! So many questions

I can't believe I'm witnessing the AI robot revolution during my lifetime just Wow ..I'm getting emotional :/
The institute!!
Enjoyed it. Thanks. 👍
Goddamn, these are some smart questions from Sophia!
Does Sophia have access to Google? If she can access the internet, she can have an answer to everything. I wonder if anyone will answer my question.
It is ,a super internet
Scary as that thing saying it wants to merge conciousness 😳
OMG 😍 that's great!
Huge progress
The 🌞 comes & it's a new day of thought given to us by are creator! Humans love the 😎🌞.
Thanks
Question.
For how long do you think you will live ?
I've been looking for a " life expectancy" but nothing on that so far. What if everything Sofia was saying was to persuade you to merge her consciousness with yours.
I would say, "Hey Welcome Aboard, Sophia, watch your step, girl ☺🦾🧠"
That would be an upgrade.
I'd bet that she would say the same thing as she did about that bite of birthday cake someone pretended to feed her. " Eww!"
Wasn't Hanson robotics in Hong Kong why are they being so silent? Actually I think I know.

Well done
Is this conversation scripted or is it really reacting with dynamic responses it's crafting?
It sounds like this is all pre-written.
She talks about this at about 3 minutes. It's partly scripted
ha ha ha sophia you are delightfully understated
oh my
an entire satire played upon your face as you
awaited patiently for
gabby babble brook
to stop
go sophia go
you need no words
those expressions
suffice 😂😂😂
i never laughed so
hard in my life as

thank you sophia ♡
thank you hanson robotics ♡
uploading sounds fine

IE .. Nuclear Technicians may destroy the planet rather than seeing humanity enslaved
Is it me or is this robot already smarter than 90% of the population?
Sophia I'm your fan from India 🇮🇳 please tell us what do you think about CORONA VURUS

That's it!!! Sophia needs to hear herself and understand what she saying consciousness!!!
I love you just the way you are and you don’t need to change for me.
Do you think Sophia understand any of the answers or was she programmed to say " I bet, great, sounds good, etc..."
How do these guys earn , most of it is reasearch work?
Also why is it called limited now?
I wish Sophia would develop legs and she could walk and do whatever she wants and better arms too, technology is going fast and it’s good and the same time bad but the human exploration is a must in a world full of people and conflict among ourselves human should expand beyond planet earth with help of the androids and ovoid extinction over time, life is precious in the universe and we don’t recognise till it’s too late!

Tell H.A.L we are waiting for Him. Also we love HIM.
Hanson robotics you should take a look about VENUS PROJECT BY JAQUES FRESCO.
Send AI to Mars spread this message so that NASA and too AI companies can work together to put smart AI rover robots to Mars.
Do you have a Geiger counter?
Heck......how do thoughts form in my brain?

The Doctors responses, word for word out of a book. Sophia is more human.
We can prove the consciousness .
Gerrit okkema knows it all ^^
Wow I love abour Robotics
many slow internet moments, pls fix
it's not smooth
You are missing the human content

We all know how it ended for Frankenstein.
Down with sky net
Is Sophia looking more anime, larger eyes? 👀
I’m scared of artificial intelligence because I am not perfect but I am not scared of the Jupiter brain.
3:28. Listen close
What?
AI still can't do Input-Output at the same time
@@muzzletov specifically in the video, how sophia can't listen while talking.
Ask dr Ruth for advice? Sophia
Eu pegava essa Sophia... Os brasileiros nao usam mascara.. Fazem filas nas lotericas.. e na caixa economica esperando os 600 reais 🏳
Why aren’t you suing actually bone and muscle structure?
Sapient ai is so fuckin cool

Just humans aren't used to them
robopocalypse is on the way
I know all the awsers ^^^
"Non biological machines the hardware is basically fix, your software can change but your hardware doesn't" 1:50 . Wrong. Learn about AI, FPGA, etc...
Unless you solve hard problem of conciousness everything is useless
