I have two full frames and a cropped sensor, they all shoot different things and a cropped sensor is great for wildlife. One of the advantages of poor mobility is that you don’t carry kit so you can buy aluminium tripods so you have the advantage of sturdiness and price. I desperately want to see the Northern Lights but hoping to go to the Isle of Harris for my next special birthday in 2 years if I make it, and you do get to see them there. Great video as always Eric, really enjoyed it.
If you make it there, please share those pics! Yeah the Northern Lights have pretty much been a top two goal no doubt
Eric, I take alot of motorcycle trips and the 2 most beautiful places I have seen here in the US for photos are the cherokee mountains in Tennessee and S Carolina and the white mountains in New Hampshire. Would love to see you do some videos using and talking about your 1dxm2. I use Sony but I love the way that beast looks and feels whenever I'm in B&H. ; )
I want to venture more and see some state parks too, a lot of great scenery out there
I would want to roam about the continent of Africa
Eric let’s do an Aurora trip I got some ideas for places and perfect for wallet
My dream place to take pictures is Alaska. ever since Northern exposure I never stopped dreaming of it.
Alaska is def on my list as well!
One thing id like to add as far as camera gear is the amazon basics stuff. Everything ive tried except their backpacks have been working amazing. I use the batteries the flashes the tripod and none have let me down. Ive even put my weight on the tripod and it didn't budge. I know it sounds like an ad but i don't work for them im not even an affiliate just buying amazon basics stuff has saved me easily over $200 and thats definitely saying something.
Oh theres nothing wrong with amazon basic stuff, it totally is great to get by on or to learn. I was saying some bad and cheap tripods on Amazon as a whole, thats all
Eric Rossi ah ok i heard it wrong sorry
all good!
I think my dream place to shoot would either be New Zealand or Iceland. Continuing on about the question on full frame cameras, do you still think it's worth going for an older full frame body such as the original 5D or a Nikon D700? I've been considering getting one purely for that "full frame look", but I'm not sure if it may be a better idea to just use my old Nikon F60 and trusty D5300 for that while I save for a more modern full frame DSLR.
Personally, I wouldnt go older at this point. But that being said, if theres a budget and you dont need the newest and greatest. There should be no issue using an older full frame body. Plus getting an older body and investing in lenses more may be a good idea
Yes - definitely - the D700 is a great camera - it's image is great it's build is fantastic - all that is missing is video - I owned one and it's a lovely camera - low light is great the still images have plenty of DM.
Northen Finland.
Thats on a list of mine eventually too
Great tips! 👍
thanks!
Moscow in the winter.
That seems like it would be a pretty cool place to see too
Eric Rossi for some reason I envision a lot of cool people, a lot of color, a lot of fatty foods, and a lot of fine spirits and a lot of good looking people. I could be very wrong, but that is what I envision.
