By far the best intelligence guide I ever saw. Your editing in this one is awesome. A clear evolution from the navy guide, which was your first video I saw. Nice work
I’ve watched so many HOI4 videos but you are the only one that explains everything in a practical way for both single player and multiplayer. I only play because I want to simulate the era in a fairly historical manner or try interesting tactics or theoretical decisions for fun. A lot of videos tend to skip over the details I want to know about the mechanics and systems or others can go straight into racing to be a meta god nation by exploiting design flaws or abusing mechanics in a way that breaks immersion. You actually helped me dive into this game and I actually feel like I have a good grasp on the confusing parts now because of your tutorials. Plus your effort into the effects and script really shows how much effort you chuck into these. I feel like every strategy game needs a go to guy for information about it and you are the best I’ve seen for Hearts of Iron. Keep up the great work.
I appreciate that and am glad you are able to enjoy the game that way. Its always been my opinion that breaking what is at the end of the day a system with workarounds is less interesting than trying to fight on fair terms and win like in chess.
17:42 you forgot the best part of collaboration govts - you can create one DURING the war, meaning every single one of those states becomes your puppet and are not subject to the peace conference
So the best traits are: 1) Seducer, for lower chance of spies being captured 2) Commando, for lower chance of spies being captured 3) Linguist, to acquire a country's nationality, which lowers the chance of spies being captured 4) Double Agent, for the nationality bonuses of the enemy country And the best upgrades are: 1) Commando Training, for more Commandos 2) Interrogation Techniques, to capture enemy spies for more Double Agents 3) Suicide Pills, for lower chance of spies being captured 4) Cryptology, for the bonuses when the cipher is cracked
I have seen a lot of non-local agents be captured watching gameplay videos. And thinking about what level of obviously a foreign spy those agents are I had the amusing idea of German spies doing the salute when communicating with their fellow spys (if so, no wonder they always seem to get captured). Also somewhat amusing when infiltrating insular countries, like Japan (I think). China would kind of be simple for foreign spys to infiltrate due to the enforced openness. Those were my amusing ruminations on spys.
When you unlock agency research it shows how many civs it costs. Is the civil cost only when you are in the process of unlocking stuff or is it a permanent loss?
So I have max spies right now, the reason I’m here is because I got a double agent, but idk if those agents are just deleted if I already have max slots or if they just assist me when I’m in their nation
As playing urss, do i need to be ahead of time in industry research to have the 300% boost and 1year boost for my next research? I'm looking for that boost but i don't understand the algorithm/logical. I've tried to steal tech from bouthan for exemple like i've seen in some video... But it doesn't work for me.😢 Can u explain how i can have these bonus?
If you successfully complete 'steal technology' operation against another country you get a tech bonus which will vary based on RNG. You may just get a tech you don't have, or bonus towards a tech.
@@Hammurabae Thank u very much, but I solved the problem. I tried to turn off and turn on again the DLC La Resistanve and now it works. I dont know what exactly was the problem, probably a bug.
No way to guarantee it, using skill 2 spies with good traits will make the chance really high which is why its important to train them from as early as possible.
It requires la resistance DLC, if you do have it you will find an eye icon tab between the decisions and research ones click on it then invest 5 civs into creating an agency
Build up a spy network in the country who captured them and after it hits 15% you will be able to do an operation to recover them. It requires 1 other agent who is obviously not the one captured.
Every word you say in this video is "no shit" information for anyone who has had the dlc downloaded and looked around for 2 minutes. All the information is avalable by hoovering over the icons and text in game. Why does all hoi4 tutuorials gotta be made for people who dont have the game installed? so they can lsee what were doing without buying the game? Also the few times you chime in with your own opinions i can barley hear you because you speak unclearly and youre mic only picks up the bass frequencies. Im sorry Hammurabe im sure youre a great guy but youve wasted my 20 minutes

Same, I have like 1200 hours but I learned a couple new things

Thanks man! Appreciate that
I have been playing for years, use spys every game for collab and networks, and i STILL learned alot in this vid. Great video!
Excellent and detailed guide - BEST guide since release.

Fantastic video!
i wish wiki would explain as good as your video
18:31 I heard from a video that it doesn’t matter if you have 1 or 24 cavalry‘s in the division. But I don’t know how true that is

How does this only have 22k?
When you unlock agency research it shows how many civs it costs. Is the civil cost only when you are in the process of unlocking stuff or is it a permanent loss?
Only during the upgrading which is 30 days
So I have max spies right now, the reason I’m here is because I got a double agent, but idk if those agents are just deleted if I already have max slots or if they just assist me when I’m in their nation
thx
Thanks

Wasn’t Victoria 3 the next step in the mega campaign ? I’m new mega campaigns so idk
Yep! Victoria then HOI4 and lastly Stellaris

Do you have La Resistance DLC?
@@Hammurabae yes
Any mods on? Which button in particular is missing and is it only the one?@@Marxism-Leninism137

one thing i ask me why cant i boost ideology on every I MEAN EVERY country i have boost for that but no it doesnt work why?
i still love you though
Is their a way to guarantee the great success for collaboration governments where the mission gives you 45% collab instead of 30% per mission?
No way to guarantee it, using skill 2 spies with good traits will make the chance really high which is why its important to train them from as early as possible.
4:57 movie?
From what movie is that scene where they pour petroleum over a capture spy?
The Hangover Part 2
movie name at 3:20?
The agency button doesn’t show for me
Did you buy the DLC? 🙂
@@kingloser4198 is it free?
@@Blaster10114 Nope. But... CDKeys will have it for a lot cheaper than Steam. That's where I got my DLCs from.
Whenever I do a mission, the network collapses. Was looking for an explanation/answer to this issue. Didn't find one.
You are likely sending your spies who are maintaining or building the network on the mission. Cant keep a network with nobody there to do so.
I cant see the agency logo
You need the La Resistance DLC
I haven't got espionage menu, why?
Do you have the la resistance dlc?
I dont understand how to get agency since i dont have one in my hoi4, can u please make an video about it?
Mine too
It requires la resistance DLC, if you do have it you will find an eye icon tab between the decisions and research ones click on it then invest 5 civs into creating an agency
Do you have the relevant DLC?
How can you rescue your agent
