  • Does the Genesis music hold up against the Super NES version?
Mega Man X is a series of action platform video games released by Capcom. It is a sub-series of the Mega Man franchise. The first game was released on December 17, 1993 in Japan on the Super Famicom and the following month on the SNES in North America; most of the sequels were ported to the PC platform.

On paper it's something amazing, but in practice the songs at this level of quality in Genesis many of the samples would be overlapping cutting the music every shot and sound effect

Kind of like in Sonic, where you lose half the audio with every jump

This is LegendofRenegade's remixes if anyones curious. He makes banger genesis remakes, and remastered a few of these tracks to be closer to the snes version.

Underrated video! Each console definitely has its strengths and weaknesses. Sega for sure has the edge on bass sound but it only is mono. Snes has the edge on more sound variety and is stereo.

Interesting. Some of my favorite tracks, like Boomer Kuwanger, I ended up not liking as much, while Launch Octopus got a significant boost. Who would have thought it would make that much of a difference?

I love Boomer Kuwanger's theme. The Genesis variant seemed to be lacking that oomph that the Snes has...

May i ask how do you replicate the Genesis sounds and SNES sounds? I have some cool games that i would like to experiment with..

I think people use something called Sound Banks. Which is emulating the sound chip of the SNES & GENESIS with music creation software.

Genesis had a better sound, that kick on drums make all the diference for me.

Yes Genesis was great for having the better drum kicks. SNES is better for symphonic sounds.
