Thordendal’s dad listened to jazz fusion, lucky for us! Imagine if he listened to country.. every song would sound like Futile Bread Machine 😂

I saw him live once. He played in a band with my guitar teacher. He played saxophone if i remember right.

When I heard that Meshuggah solo I thought about how it was similar to Holdsworth sound and Im glad that such an amazing extreme metal band takes insipiration from jazz fusion legend AH

If you listen to Holdsworth's solo in the UK song "In the Dead of Night" alongside 90's era Thordendal lead work such as in the song 'Gods of Rapture" its pretty interesting. Two of my favorite solos ever by the way.

Idk who he even is but Frederick is the goat, so at least he can say he influenced the goat.

I love the approach in there earlier albums.
The question now is, how will I sound like aliens communicating to earth.

I can tell Tony Macalpine is influenced as well. So maybe instead of citing Fredrik and Tony as my influences I should just say this guy haha
