  • I've rebuilt this Mesa Dual Rectifier for Fredrik Thordendal.
    It has the Hermansson 4 gain stages circuit.
    Both channels have a lot more distortion available, lower noise floor, more better dynamic response and a more musical EQ. I've installed my tightness control for both channels and re-voiced the "vintage mode" of the power amp section.
    Guitar straight into the amp, recorded with an iPhone 7.
    Make sure to subscribe to this channel and check out my Facebook page: hermanssonamplification

    I like how it still retains the big recto sound but with better tightness and clarity.

      They’re incredible amps. Mine is the TITS. If one doesn’t sound good, it’s broken or someone isn’t using it right (including using the wrong tubes). These things sound killer at 11 o’clock but you’ll be moving some air and people don’t want to use it for what it’s meant for.

      @@kylegrossi8175 a lot of that can be the room you’re in too. I never understood their appeal when I tried them out at my local shop A FEW TIMES because every time I asked to play it, they stuck it and me in a small room the size of a walk-in closet. It wasn’t until I put one in my living room until I understood it and the thing still intimidates the shit out of me. It belongs outside 😂.

      @@MrMann-gt1eh Yeah. i tested them out in a jam room and large & small basements. They all had something a bit different going on with each of them. But i guess thats just the revisions or maybe the age of the tubes etc.

    I strongly recommend you learn how to mic a cabinet

    • @HermanssonAmplification
      @HermanssonAmplification  6 месяцев назад +2

      Since I’ve worked with guitar sounds as full time work for over a decade I would like to say that I have an idea of how to mic a cabinet. But in my opinion an iPhone clip can give you an acceptable idea how an amp sounds in the room even though you can’t get a feeling for how the amp feels and responds to the strumming (which is what I’ve spent most of my time to develop). These are just clips that I record after finishing an amp so I can send them to my customers so they can get an idea of what they sounds like while they wait for the package to arrive.
