This is just amazing before 1955 there is not a single road in Tibet. Now every county seat is connected to a road, Highway from Lhasa to Nyingchi, Lhasa to Shigatse, Train from Golmud to Lhasa, From Lhasa to Shigatse and soon from Lhasa to Nyingchi this fall. They have airport at Lhasa(Gonggar) Shigatze, Ngari, Changdu, Nyingchi. Not only that but the economic development now allow most Tibetan to own a car and home. It was fantastic in one generation Tibet transform from middle age to modern, vibrant economy. But it is only beginning the future will be even brighter with further development in Tibet. I have been following Tibet for decades. I hope that DL will make peace with China allowing all the exiles to return to Tibet and participate in the prosperity of new Tibet
It doesn’t justify occupation of Tibet by CCP China.

The people here learn Indian history, Indian language, watch Indian movies. Many people here cannot speak their own language because Indian government has imposed Hindi language. Yes but there many people here who think we will be better off if we join China, some think we should be independent, and some think we should remain under India.
Our economic condition is worse than our brothers who live in Tibet. Most People from Arunachal Pradesh don’t go to work in mainland India because of racial discrimination, rape and high crime rate. Hence we are poor.
That is so sad.Chinese government treat ethnic groups very well.More economic help and education help.

I see many restaurants and shops on both sides of the streets in many towns in Tibet, but it seems that most of the shopkeepers are Han Chinese from the mainland. My concern is whether the economic aspect is also marginalized after the Tibetan language and culture are marginalized ?

Tibetans will also go to work, study, live, and do business in mainland China, people from other ethnic groups in China will also go to Tibetan areas to study, live, and do business. Much ado about nothing, given that protection of culture and language policy in China is better than any countries out there, including India, US , Canada and Australia. But Tibet will change with time, as the youngsters become educated and have their own dreams to fulfill in China. They become Tibetan Chinese, different from Tibetan Indian or smattering Tibetan refugees in Western world.
