I was helping at a rummage sale over the weekend and someone dropped a bag of shells in to sell. A prospective buyer was looking at the shells which obviously had been collected in SW Florida ( I am in the UK) I was able to tell the buyer all the names and types of shells because of you. The buyer was so impressed!

I was thinking the exact same thing! And also so grateful my son finally took me up on my suggestion of introducing this channel to my daughter in law and grandchildren. Now when I see them, I quiz them a little on what shells they've learned that week.
I actually found this channel almost 3 years ago when we were in Florida vacationing on the Gulf side in Florida. My husband and I went for a late night walk on the beach and found some really neat shells that we ended up bringing home to Wisconsin. I had no idea what they were and I came across her channel. I was hooked! The following winter we actually decided to visit Fort Myers just so I could go shelling. I knew the names to almost everything I found and we happened to get there the day after a few tornados came through. There were SO MANY SHELLS. It was like a dream! I love her channel!❤
Would you consider doing a video of you picking up shells you normally wouldn't? I'd love to see the variety you have over there.. Here in the UK we tend to get extremely bland/boring seashells so I'm living vicariously through you 🤍

I will tell you the cooler weather is upon us here. I was on the beach this morning and it was so delightful! I was still walking in the water, but those days are going to be behind me soon. We don't have "seasons" here like other places. We have hot and hotter 🤣
I like the heat so I don't mind the summers and I don't care for the cooler weather, but the shells love it! It's all good though - I have my jacket, my boots and my hand warmers ready!! ❤️❤️❤️
I’ve only been to the Florida beach once when I was so little , that I can’t really remember. I’m almost 50, I’m dying to go , I think about it all the time 😭 for now, I’m living vicariously through you 🤗♥️ thank you for these videos for those of us not able to get to a beach

Wow, that's a great shell haul. I don't know how you restrain yourself from getting more. I'd be in heaven trying to carry back at least 5-10 pounds worth of shells lol. The ocean was very generous this trip. ❤
If I only went shelling a few times a year I would go bananas, but since I go so often I have to be careful. I cold practically build a mini house from all the shells I collect!
I used to hate Sunday nights because I knew Monday was coming. But, for the last couple of years, I can’t wait to watch you explain and name all you find at these marvelous beaches. You are truly blessed. But for the life of me a I don’t know how you leave so many behind. I would be dragging a huge bag from each beach I visited. Thank you

You had such a great day with the alphabet cones. I like the pear whelke, albino nutmeg (wow), lighting whelkes, the horse conks, the lovely true tulip, banded tulips, and fighting conks, sand dollars, olives.I love all the shells and listening to the water. I would love to spend as much time as I could at the ocean and or lakes. They are so calming and I think it is just my place I want to be. I don't live near the ocean and love lake Michigan. There is something about the air, sounds, meeting new people and cleaning up the beach as much as I can. Thank you for sharing another wonderful shelling video. Have a great day 😊

I'm watching your video of an hour ago, and I'm telling ya, I would be going crazy. I don't know how you pass up so many shells. I'd need a wheelbarrow because I would have an extremely hard time passing them up. But then, I no longer live on the beach, and I lived at Emerald Isle and there were never that many shells. Your so blessed.😊
I've tried to sell Sharmon on the idea of a small donkey pulling a little cart so we could gather all the shells we'd like.
So far, she's been reluctant, but my heart is hopeful.
It's wonderful to live here and be greeted by so many seashells when I go to the beach! I do pick up A LOT but not everything or I'd kill my back and I'd need a storage unit for all my shells!

( of course we were on Kice, Dickmans and Tigertail ) happy Shelling.. my husband giggles and says you bring them from home and put them on the beach, of course he’s teasing ..we’ve been going to Sanibel/Captiva Islands since 1995. I sometimes wonder if people think I put these shells on the beach - LOL! They are literally always out there! It's been really quite good after Ian for some reason 🤷♀️ At least you got to see the other "good" shelling beaches while you were here 🐚

Hi Sharmon! Wonderful virtual shelling trip. I have to say that I think all my favorite videos of yours have been on Keewaydin Island. It just seems the shells are the absolute best there. My favorites today were the gorgeous true tulip and horse conch. But like you, I have a thing for fighting conchs. If I had to pick one shell, that would be it. The ones you found today were so pretty and they had great knobs on them with good twisty tops. My favorite was the dark brown rippled one. Looked like the colors of a hot fudge sundae. If I had to choose just one shell as my favorite (I have several) it would be those fighting conchs. I have a bucket, bowls, and lanterns full of them. I can't not get those striped or zig zag ones. Or the really yellow ones. Or the dark brown ones......

I know - I keep hearing about Pass a grille - I'll get up there one of these days!
Pass A Grille is hit or miss for me. Usually pretty light compared to this video.
@@Marilynlovesebikingit also depends on what you are looking for. If you are new to the state and lived near pass a grille it would be heaven. Usually on the southern tip which just opened up after idalia I tend to find a bunch of stuff. Also by 13th ST.
I have to ask though, what do you do with all the shells you collect? Do you craft with them?

Yes and yes it's safe. They swing their "foot" around but I'm big enough where it won't do any harm 😃

Isn't it difficult to have to leave those gorgeous FFC's behind?? The ones with the zig zags have no chance of escaping my shell bag! Those colorful moon snails! The true tulips! Ahhh! Thanks for sharing your latest adventure. I'll be back in SW Florida in less than 2 weeks. A low-tide excursion to FMB is on my to-do list. And a trip to Sanibel....maybe Lighthouse Beach...I haven't yet dug my toes in that sand. 🙂
You definitely get me! Yes, it's hard to leave the shells behind, but I tell myself they will be there when I return - as they always are. I'm starting to get used to it, but it's still hard to leave one-of-a-kind shells on the beach 😂

Oh, it looks like you'll have another great Cone day! I am so glad for you, finding all those! You've got a beautiful day for shelling, with the lovely cloud tossed like a filmy scarf across the sky.
You are having such a great shelling day! I'm trying not to turn an elegant shade of green and am managing to kerp my more mortal sins at bay by considering my more important tasks at hand. I do, however, have a picture in my mind of myself sitting in the sand, just watching the waves roll in. Shells are a wonderful plus, but this mermaid's heart is in the depths of the sea, where bombs cannot destroy and bullets don't take innocent lives. Where my soul likes to hide, all is quiet and peaceful, far beneath the waves, on a faraway coral reef.
I'm so glad thst you're having such a great shelling adventure and that you allowed us to tag along.
To all you armchair shell hunters, I wish you a happy autumn filled with love, peace and joy.

I was just thinking that I never, ever talk about current events (Hurricane Ian being the exception) and I never will. I like my videos to be the escape from all the negative things going on. One would think there was no good in the world if we only watched the news. It's a shame we're hardwired for fear - and the media takes advantage of that. With me all you're ever going to get is sunshine and seashells. And maybe a critter and some history snuck in there from time to time. Much love to you and yours mermaid! ❤️🐚❤️🐚

It's a good thing those shells are a bit heavy or I swear I would have thousands of them! That being said, I'm glad I like them, even if they are on the common side. Even the everyday things are awesome at the beach. ❤️

They do not. It's been so long since I have even seen a piece of a junonia I forget they are out there too!
