You posted the video of your relocation hearing. I think what ultimately swayed the the judge to side with you moving, was that your ex just presented herself as unstable in the hearing. The court was already aware about the dental neglect, and already aware that you wanted to move. But the fact that your ex showed up to court without an attorney, without any family members willing to testify on her behalf, her presentation to the court was terrible, and that she was kind of messing around through the hearing. When Brittany testified that your ex was giving her grief, that really pissed off your judge. It made it appear that your ex was trying to take everyone down in sinking ship with her. Your judge specifically stated that she believed that your ex was purposely trying to push away your son's supportive family. I do know parents who did relocate with their kids, even with permission from the court, and eventually was court ordered to pay all cost for travel and lodging, even if they can't afford it. I almost wonder if this is the judges way of siding with the noncustodial parent, so that they can eventually file a modification to have the children move back, if the custodial parent doesn't consistently cough up the money for traveling expenses. My ex recently tried to use the fact that we live 45 min away from eachother, as leverage in court. It wasn't affective, and I think the reason is that I did have family testify that it wasn't an issue, and also, even though she didn't mention it, our family law judge has to drive 45 min from her home to the court house to work everyday, So it looked kind of silly that he fought hard to argue about that.
