In your area those sidewalks are not ADA approved either. Cause if anybody was in a wheelchair they couldn't get down that curb or get up that curb. Even though you cleaned it up that's on the city or town. Americans with Disabilities Act = ADA.

Good point. Unfortunately, just from my anecdotal experience at least, most neighborhoods outside new developments or developments with strict HOAs (which can raise different problems) have sidewalks that have serious cracks or are uneven and raised due to tree roots, earthquake damage, and just general time and exposure to the elements. Can’t even imagine having to navigate those in a wheelchair, so God bless you.

Decades ago, when we moved into a new house (I was in... 7th grade?) we found out quite by accident that we had a concrete walk heading straight out to the road (no sidewalks on our street).
It was buried under years of washed-in dirt and long-established grass. Using only manual tools we completely excavated the 20 or so feet of sidewalk and used the sod to patch some bare spots in the yard.

You can tell a lot about the quality of "City" planning offices by these conditions.
If you notice? Many of the curbs are broken, and sidewalks are cracked, and poorly maintained. This lack of maintenance is what caused the soil erosion due to the runoff, causing the overgrowth.
It also has to do with state/county/city property taxes. Places where you do not see this? Usually have cost shares... And add an amount to the property owner's tax bill. If/when the common shared areas (sidewalks, driveways, etc) need to be repaired or replaced.

    Looks Amazing!
A lot of people don’t have the money, or are either too busy working, and just don’t have the time to do up their lawns and properties so nice.
Some might not even know to care. But the thing is, when they see how nice their property can be, it probably gives them inspiration and incentive, in addition, it inspires the neighbors.
The kids even see how nice it is, and it’s another positive thing. That hard work can produce, and you don’t have to just accept the ways things are.
So, we watch this, and some might even wonder how you could spend so much time on such back breaking work for free! But I think of all the people it’s helped, and
I do believe it’s not for nothing.
