I've got no less than 70 odd reels and the okumas have been up with anything I've ever used. The drags are better than my stradics /supers and I have no doubt the rex will give any Shimano in the sub £700 category a good run I imagine. I have serviced 100s of reels and trust me okumas are coming along very well
I have 3 rods, 2 okuma 8k reels and now i want to buy one more reel but i dont know which one. Okuma 8k or okuma t-rex. Somebody can give me an advice? Thanks
Ha ha that was funny, my mates got a couple OKUMA Trio Rex reels , decent reels but not in the same class as the top and middle range of diawa carp big pit reels, really adam they will be putting you in a straight jacket soon.

Another 8k would make sense if you have 2 already. I have 3 and they're great. Going to get 3 of the distance model for my other set of Rods.
I used to have the metata version i have had no worries with it for the rest of my days........

Everyone on here crying because he slagged off Daiwa 😂. Daiwa reels are garbage unless you pay silly money end of!

Okuma have been around for years, won many awards, iv had many top end reels hardly any difference

Daiwa is better.... But this reels is very good for the money
reel is crap, have it, sold it and buy real deal for same money-xsc
