Everything Duran Duran does best is encapsulated within the notes and chords of this song. As a songwriter, Simon Le Bon has not been given the credit he so completely deserves. These are the true poets words. They are elegant and hypnotic and I am moved to tears as I listen. And the voice! There is no other. I am saved once again.
Soo true. Couldn't have said this better. Simon, Duran Duran in my opinion haven't received all their flowers for what they have done for music all these decades.
I'm lying in bed, headphones on, in the dark and listening to this for about the 20th time on the day of it's release. OMG, what a fantastic song! Makes me happy to be alive to enjoy such a thing. Anyway, just wanted to share. Thank you Duran for everything.
Mastering of the entire album is garbage. Overly compressed to the point of quite noticeable clipping distortion. Paper Gods was the same way. This song itself however is amazing and the best on the album for sure.
@@chirpywiggins5796 This song is the first song off the new album which I have heard which isn’t rubbish. This is quite good. If the rest of the album had been like this it would have been good. Sadly the other tracks were sub contemporary dross. When you listen to the new Tears for Fears song Tipping point now that’s the way to go. That matched elements of their old sound but modernised it.
The music industry is seriously flawed these days. They would rather put garbage up the charts instead of a beautiful and amazing song like this? Something is seriously wrong with the dorks who are controlling the industry now!
All about taste, and giving new acts a chance to be heard.Youre showing you're age and that's ok.Theres room for everyone, not just those who have come first.Peace.
it's because ZOG is trying to drown out aryan music and replace it with 💩rap crap and forcing aryan youths to limited selections LIKE rap crap and similiar shit. THAT'S the flaw-ZOG
Oh my God. This song is fire!!!! Long long long time Duran Duran fan, and this takes me back to the beginning. Lyrics, synths, bass and drums sound so perfect together. Graham and Mark did a fantastic job on guitars. Close your eyes and listen and you think that’s Andy. Wow. Great job guys. Fantastic song.
As you were mentioning Lyrics & Synths etc., I was going to joke ...'now all you need is some 'Andy guitar'! - but that said, these guys are certainly 'progressive' , ... so that form of DD is now going to probably remain, long since past.
@@michaelcruz7704 Seriously, you ask him not to mention Andy but then go about mentioning Warren in your subsequent reply. I loved Warren's contribution to DD, but he probably has an even more unlikely chance of returning than Andy to DD due to his political and conspiracy views (which I am sure will have him but heads with John); let alone the personality conflicts with Simon specifically. The only person who may be happy about a Warren return might be Nick, but even that's not a given. So while I agree that we all need to move on and stop bringing up Andy every time, the same does apply to Warren as well.
This song keeps playing in my head everytime. Wherever I go, whatever I do. Its almost like taking me to a different plane or dimension. Beautifully crafted song that is a masterpiece for the soul!

I’m in absolute agreement. I was a bit concerned after reading the lyrics to “Anniversary,” but after listening to the rest of the album, that was obviously the exception to the rule. Simon found the phoenix for the flame on this album.

Absolutely the best song on this album. It's like they took Tel Aviv and Tiger Tiger, and combined them into a 2021 version that has lyrics that would fit in the SATRT genre. It's on heavy rotation in my house, car and earphones. And I agree with others that it's ready-made for the next Bond film.

Yeah, the opening lines reminded me of "You Only Live Twice" ... but no demerits here, as I'm sure, these things happen all the time, coincidentally ... (Just ask Men At Work, re "DOWNUNDER"-!)
There's something about this that's very Bond-theme sounding about the verse, the chord changes in it are very pleasing and rich. Enveloping. Familiar. Kinda of gorgeous. The chorus hits me differently...it'll probably grow on me...
You just killed it with this album, guys. Wing is hands down the best song of Future Past, and it was quite hard to beat Invisible, Nothing Less and Beautiful Lies.
