Possibly the best band of the 2000s, it's a shame they flew under the radar. Wayman Boone is one of the best vocalists in the last 20 years. I'm still rockin their stuff today....fantastic!

I was 24 driving across the Tennessee river in Chattanooga when I heard this on the radio. A week later I picked up the album and loved everything single song.
I agree... my girlfriend worked for several different labels in NYC, and she had to leave the industry because she was sick of how good bands were ignored and sh!tty bands were praised. There's a lot more to it, but yeah, the short story is that the guys in control don't actually know a damn thing about music.
Their label just didn’t promote them well. Halfway down the sky album was just as good as any of the other alternative bands at that time in 1999. I remember seeing them at a festival and people going crazy for them. After the show they had a long line at the signing booths. Then me and my friends get word that they were coming back to our city. But it wasn’t promoted well and we were one of the only people in the crowd that night. Got to talk with the band after and that was cool. But they were just hardly ever promoted for some strange reason. If main stream get a hold of that album and gave it a good lesson they would’ve been just as big as bands like our lady piece, fuel, f11 and Creed.

Dylan Rawr absolutely not. Cobain HATED commercial omnipop stuff like this. I was 21 at the time this came out and I liked this band, but looking back they were everything wrong with rock band killed the genre. It has not really recovered since mid 2000’s. These bands rode the coattails of grunge/Seattle scene, but they are nothing like them. I’m glad you dig it though. That’s cool.
Saw these guys open for Live in Burlington VT 1999? at a college. tiny auditorium. my friend and I were front and center. Live was touring for The distance to here album. Couldn't believe it was such a small place. like a high school gym. Splendor were good but I didn't know who they were at the time

Waymon Boone the singer has his own film production company and has been increasingly successful working with some major actors and actresses. James Cruz bassist I believe still plays with Gavin DeGraw and doing great. Mark Slutzky drummer has worked with Pink and I’m not sure what he’s up to now. Jonathan Svec guitar was in another band called Echo something and it sure of right now. Wish they would do another album it’s just sad this music went away.
