Counter point to the criticism of stoicism - for the most part I feel like it's just worrying about only things you can control E.g - If you were born in terrible conditions, it's unproductive to dwell on that. I dont think it depends on setting at all, although obviously its easier if you have an easier life However if I got sent to prison for life I'd definitely practice stoicism to help get through it. I've heard a lot of the stoics were pretty much homeless too - although obviously many were very wealthy too
Ah, fair, what do you think about the whole CJI vs. ADCC debate? I'm still keen to see Josh's match against Gordon. I love his aggressive style but also how easily he can mix it up by playing guard and going for leg locks.
@@MyHelloworld1 competition is always good for any industry, Craig is fuckin chaotic so it's obviously not done in the most "correct" way, but ultimately the sport will be better for it.
Congrats on the Gordon match

Great fkn episode man!
Epictetus one of the most famous stoics who Marcus admired was a slave
If you had to pick between your match with Gordon and competing at CJI with the chance of winning $1 million, what would you choose?
He's already been invited to CJI and turned it down
Ah, sweet, I didn't know. What was the reasoning behind it?
@goodthanksbro
@@MyHelloworld1 because he qualified for ADCC first, and that's been his goal for a while. Money isn't really what Josh needs 😂
