There is a Chinese saying for this. Help a person once they will forever be great-full, help them all the time and they will be resentful of you once you are no-longer able to.
I experience that with my sister. I help her so many times, but the one time I don't, I'm a fuxking villain.
Kev Jumba fr tho
That's a damn good saying
that's what populism is
yeah ive experienced this
People are out here saying "DC should put their animated movies in theaters" I'm out here saying "Whoever writes the animated movies should be in charge of writing their live action ones too"
It’s not a problem of “bad writers vs good writers”. The problem is that big budget movies are less likely to take risks because they have more to lose. Everything needs to be corporate approved. Even if the writers are good, they are limited by executive meddling.
A relatively low-budget straight-to-DVD movie on the other hand, can basically let the writers do whatever they want.
@@cartoonishidealism582 that's exactly what happens their live action movies were also written by extremely talented people like Chris terrio man he is a Oscar winning writer, then their is David s goyer same guy who wrote TDK trilogy so how the hell are the live action writers bad lmao...real problem are executives not creators

Yup

“Over my dead body”- Classic line directly from the comic story...
nmr20067
I prefer the original context of the line in the comics.
A resurrected Superman emerges from a robot, a news report says Cyborg Superman destroyed Coast City and that Metropolis is his next target. Superman hears this and vows, “Over my dead body.”
Give me the comic version any day of the week
Epic
If you're going to have the protagonist say that line, you fail to use it to full effect if you don't have the antagonist no-sell it and immediately respond with "that's what I had in mind" or words to that effect.
right, but there are so many stories of other people and characters saying this line.
Yeah and Parallax Hal Jordan emerges after the shitstorm of Coast City he couldn’t stop because he traveling galaxies and conversing with spectre and all of that shit. Leading to Emerald Twilight And eventually Final Night after the Infamous Zero Hour.
Henshaw is both tragic and pathetic. He was the one who took his wife into space and it was Darkseid who sent Doomsday to Earth crashing into Henshaw's ship along the way. As for Henshaw his entire escape plan was Superman will save them (but it's kind of hard for him to hear you when you're in space where sound doesn't travel). So now he's fallen into the classic villain trope of "Never My Fault" and blaming the hero for his problems.
So true my friend
On the other hand, he's been brainwashed and is no longer capable of rational thought.
Trust me he is worse in the comics.
@Pup DaNi He still can’t be everywhere at once. He can’t save everyone.
...Are you, too, a troper?
"She's dead because of you"
Why, because he couldn't save your ship in time? No matter how much everyone wants to think it, he can't be everywhere at once, and save EVERY life. Superman is just ONE guy.
Cyborg is insane but a genius at the same time
Well said
He was written better in the comics. The fact that he couldn't explain what had happened to him and the fact that Terri died drove Hank into madness, and he began developing delusions and inaccuracies of what really happened. He needed something to blame for his tragedy, and he chose Superman. So his mind crafted its own story that Superman threw something into the Sun, causing the spaceship that he and Terri were in to fill with radiation and crashland. It had nothing to do with Darkseid or Superman not being there in time. Cyborg Superman's motive is all his rage, grief, and frustration directed at the world.
Ivan Del Bianco no, they’re not a farce.
Batman was already rushing to Jason Todd when the bomb blew up the warehouse. Hank never delivered any signal for Superman or the JL to save him. You think with all the crimes on Earth, they are able to respond to a call made in outer space? How entitled can you be to always demand a rescue when million others also needed saving?
Both Hank and Jason Todd are egoistic maniacs that blames their own personal failures and tragedy to their idols. At least Jason was redeemed in some story arcs as an anti-hero that works with the Bat-family to solve crimes in Gotham.
Hank merely used Superman to rid himself of all guilt in causing the death of his wife, even though it was clearly his failure as a husband and her commander.
Actually, according to the last movie "Death of Superman", Hank was the one who suggested that they should stay and wait for Superman while his wife wanted to leave. Also, if Darkseid saved him, why didn't Hank wondered why Darkseid save him but not his wife and him. If anything, Cyborg Superman should get revenge on Darkseid instead of Superman.😒😒😒
Superman: I may never may never fully recover.
*Gets a few seconds of sunlight*
Superman has seemingly fully recovered.
that's why he's super, pal
I don't think this version of Superman hasn't discovered that his power can be fully regenerated by the sun until later on.
Kal’el was still bleeding from the face after a couple of punches to the head tho.
So how did Lois know?

@Roy Nelson What does that have to do with what he's talking about?

This is an underrated comment!
He can time travel too.but hasn't done that since the 70's.
And erase the universe again?
Not for another few movies.

"Could you gimme a minute to fly around the earth really fast? I know, it sounds crazy, but if I turn the world backwards...
"How about for my wife? Was there a way out for her?"
Yes, actually. You could've followed proper protocol instead of expecting Superman to save you.
She's dead because of your poor judgment.
No, superheroes are never there when they need them most. Some examples are Jason Todd and Hank Hanshaw. They needed them, and they abandoned them. Heroes are a great farce.
Just to be clear, Batman was never at fault for Jason's death. He was rushing to save him. The Joker/readers (more like 1 reader with a bunch of time and money) killed him off. Batman was never to blame.
@@activeoffline6772 as in case of jason todd.. joker got carried away beating him up to death with or without realizing that but pretty sure does not give a damn about waiting just went ahead venting out on jason todd
@ You obviously don't know what a superhero is or represents if you completely believe that they abandon the people they try to save. Literally every story of a superhero I have ever seen is them trying to get from point A to point B so they can save person C. Its as if youve forgotten that Villians exist, or just obstacles in general that stop Superheroes from saving everyone. Being ENTITLED to the fact that YOU, specifically YOU, must be saved in a given situation is a very dumb belief to have and I do not respect it at all. You're the one who got yourself in that situation, so tell me why a hero or anyone for that HAVE to save you? Did you forget that heroes can easily and I mean EASILY use their powers for evil and just end you on the spot? Or is it just more convenient to blame someone else for your own fault? Get the fuck out of here with that "Heroes are a farce" bullshit.
On the flip side I AM sorry, just that comment ticked me off a little. I don't have any ill-will towards you, I just hate the idea that people seemingly feel the deserve something and call out the opposition when it is themselves who put them in that situation.
@@galaxyman2567 I agree. As much as we hope that heroes can save everyone, not everyone can be. There's only one hero who can but that's only if we choose him as our savior and that's Jesus Christ.

A world to reliant on Superman to solve their problems and save themselves.
And here we have the ultimate outcome of that.
That’s a personal choice. You can choose to be always reliant on someone or be self sufficient. You don’t see Batman or the Flash asking for Superman all the time. They nearly die plenty of times but make it out anyway without asking because they know they are self sufficient enough.

Hank Henshaw, the Cyborg Superman, he may not be Superman’s worst enemy but he’s definitely one of the most dangerous. Dan Jurgens not only gave us Doomsday, the creature that killed the Man of Steel, but he also gave us one of the most troubled and twisted villains of DC. Hope to meet him someday.
This isn't some raging psycho just being evil. This is a man who lost everything, including his faith, due to unfortunate circumstances.A man with nothing to lose and nothing left to gain.

Betatron "Hank" is Henry Henshaw's (New-Earth) nickname.
He’s just having a temper tantrum and blaming his idol for his own failings as a leader and husband.
What I love most about this fight is the rage you can feel in every one of hanks attacks. He hates Superman, he’s not holding back or getting easily and suddenly overpowered like many super hero fights. He gave it his all.

Spawn and Image Comics was so popular in the early 90's, Marvel and DC did some drastic stuff to get their readers back. Killing Superman and killing Xavier temporarily created new heroes and new universes to re-engage old readers. Everyone can have their own opinion if those story arcs were good, creative or successful but make no mistake about it, if it wasn't for Image Comics, Marvel and DC would probably be shelling out the same old stories today.
I love that so many superheroe fights are basically just extremley violent arguments.

Something about seeing Superman use guns is just.......awesome lol. The long hair is also awesome. I remember a few comics from way back(like during the 90’s) where Superman had long hair for a while and I assumed that would be his new look and loved it. Nope, back to the swirl cut lol
When Hank says, "She's dead because of you," the drawing of madness is the same when Joker reverts to his old self in The Dark Knight Returns, Part 1.
2:24 damn that's a strong pistol
This fight shows that Krytonians even without their superpowers from yellow sun, are naturally more durable than normal humans, hence how Superman was still able to put up some fight even when depowered.
Hank Henshaw takes control of the Green Lanters Manhunters in the 2010ish comics. His character growth is kind of all over the place though. It's difficult to follow what he does from issue to issue. He kind of plot teleports if that makes sense.
DC always have the good animated movies
The animated universe seemed to know what they were doing more than the movies. I wasn't a fan of the animation or some of the decisions, but I liked these more than anything the live action movies had done in the past 9 years. With the exception of Wonder Woman and the James Gunn stuff.
