Superman Possessed by Trigon vs Darkseid | Justice League Dark Apokolips War

Following two failed attempts at conquering Earth, Darkseid and his armies continue conquering other worlds. The Justice League devise a plan to defeat Darkseid by infiltrating Apokolips while leaving the Teen Titans on Earth to defend it. Unbeknownst to them, Darkseid spies on the League through Cyborg. The League are overwhelmed and defeated by Paradooms and a majority of the heroes from both the League and the Titans are killed, while those who survive are placed into Darkseid's slavery.
Two years later, Darkseid has placed devices known as "Reapers" which mine the planet's core. The surviving heroes blame Clark Kent / Superman for leading them into failure. Superman has been forcibly depowered after Darkseid tattooed his chest with liquid kryptonite. He and Raven, who has been struggling to maintain her father Trigon's imprisonment seek John Constantine for a location spell to track Damian Wayne. Although reluctant to help at first, considering himself a coward for fleeing during the initial attack on Darkseid and leaving his lover Zatanna to die, Constantine locates Damian at a League of Assassins outpost. Clark explains to Damian they need him to help free his father Batman from Darkseid's mind control. Damian reluctantly agrees to join the group.
The group travel to Stryker's Island in Metropolis and meet with Clark's wife Lois Lane who has recruited the Suicide Squad to their cause, now led by Harley Quinn. Clark and Lois reveal their plan to infiltrate LexCorp and use a boom tube to return to Apokolips and kill Darkseid. Meanwhile, the remaining heroes launch an attack on the Reapers but are slowly killed battling the Paradooms. At the building, they are confronted by Lex Luthor, who reveals he was working with Lois to gain intel on Darkseid. The group splits into two with Clark, Raven, Constantine, and Etrigan the Demon going to Apokolips and Lois, Luthor, and the Squad remaining at the building to defend the boom tube. Batman informs Darkseid of Luthor's betrayal, prompting Batman to send Paradooms and the newly converted mechanical Furies after the heroes.
Upon arrival, Clark's group is attacked by the Furies, consisting of cybernetic versions of Wonder Woman, Mera, Hawkman, Starfire, and Martian Manhunter. Etrigan is killed by Wonder Woman, but Constantine manages to break her free using her Lasso of Truth. She decides to stay behind to fend off the other Furies as the group head on. They next rescue Flash from a treadmill powering Apokolips; Constantine learns that Flash had altered the timeline in the past. Shortly thereafter, they are confronted by Cyborg, who has been integrated into the planet's network. Constantine frees Cyborg from Darkseid's control, which also frees the remaining Furies as they are about to overpower Wonder Woman. Darkseid orders Batman to kill Damian but he hesitates when he is reminded of his parents' death, which breaks him free of Darkseid's mind control. In a fit of rage, Darkseid tries to kill Batman but is intercepted by Damian, who dies in Batman's arms. His death overwhelms Raven, her sudden emotional instability setting Trigon free. Constantine offers his body as a vessel for Trigon, but he refuses and takes Clark's body instead, purging the kryptonite from his body, restoring his powers, and killing Constantine. Trigon attacks Darkseid. Constantine is briefly visited by Zatanna in the afterlife, who reveals she used a spell to manipulate Constantine to flee back to Earth as part of a contingency plan prepared by Batman. Simultaneously, Raven and Zatanna revive Damian and Constantine.
Back at LexCorp, Lois's team is surrounded by Paradooms, prompting them to initiate a self-destruct. Lois transmits a goodbye message to Apokolips with Cyborg's assistance. Her death shocks Clark back to his senses and frees him from Trigon's possession. Constantine and Raven agree to combine their magic to give Trigon a physical body so he can continue fighting Darkseid. Cyborg reveals his plan to teleport the Paradooms back to Apokolips while dragging the planet into a boom tube with no exit. Cyborg teleports the heroes back to Earth and commences his plan. Relishing the battle, Trigon prevents Darkseid's escape as they are dragged into oblivion.
Despite their victory, Batman reveals one-third of Earth's magma has been drained by the Reapers, the planet's rotation was compromised, and that people will continue to die by the millions before the League can potentially find a solution. As a result, Constantine convinces Flash to run back in time and reset the timeline again despite knowing that the world will not be the same as before. Flash eventually agrees. Damian and Raven share a kiss as they and the remaining heroes watch as the timeline resets as a bright light covers the entire world, leaving their ultimate fate unknown.

I still love that when Constantine offered himself to be Trigon's willing host, Trigon was immediately just "No I want Supes" Clearly he knows that John never sacrifices himself unless he has one hell of a scheme up his sleeve.
Which begs the question, just what did John think he was gonna do after Trigon took him over?!

I can only imagine it would be similar to what he pulled in the later half of the DCeased series, where John systematicly killed a bunch of near demigods to take their equipment, even at one point entering a room in the Tower of Fate that even Dr Fate didn't know about, all so he could fight a fully released Trigon all out. Maybe John was banking on the old "So many things have a claim on my soul, Trigon will have to fight a legion of demons and gods, some as old as Trigon himself just for the chance to truly claim John. Or knowing Constantine, he might have been planning to wing it

Could have been that reason. Constantine definitely has a reputation for being devious. But I suspect it had more to do with what Superman's body had to offer. Namely, the ability to bench press a planet once the kryptonite tattoo was burned away with Trigon's magic. Far more tempting than the body of mortal chain smoking alcoholic. Lol!

It's truly fun to see Superman cut loose and not hold back. It happens so rarely that you see him use his powers in combination offensively and effectively.

Mostly because it retroactively made all the fights less interesting.

Even in the one comic where Joker fought Superman that wasn't injustice related, Superman wipes the floor with him and just laughs at him and sends him back to gotham, compared to Batman who needs to go on a whole character arc everytime to find joker and stop his plans.

Watching Darkseid get his head handed to him is never unsatisfying.
Honestly, it makes way to much sense for trigon to have possess Superman at this moment because Darkside is possibly the only person Superman without a shadow of a doubt truly hates. Not pitted, not dislikes not distrusts but straight-up hates.
It's true, even more so than Luther. I think Darkseid is the only villain that Superman would kill without feeling any kind of remorse.

I think an underrated thing about Superman in this scene is when he overpowered trigon arguably the the strongest demon in existence in a battle of wills and took back his body.

A headcanon Trigon I liked in this movie universe is that being trapped inside Ravenmight have helped mellow Trigon down a bit. Obviously not enough to make him less evil, but he might've warmed up to her a bit

Well, the first 3/4ths of the movie is showing just how much Darkseid has fucked everything up. Crippled and maimed heroes, brainwashing some, and slowly destroying the planet. He sorta deserved it. This movie was fuckin bleak man. It ends with Flash creating a Flashpoint that, for all we know, could be worse.
Darkseid: I have an army of parademons, and what do you have?!
Raven: We have a Trigon
John Constantine was the Calvary in this particular franchise, he freed Cyborg to boom tube them to earth, released Trigon to come help beat Darkseid while they regroup and elope, and told Flash to go and undo what he initially did that messed up the timeline. John Constantine is one hell of a character, I wish they can do a perfect live action movie for him…

According to Marvel's hierarchy, Loki is classed equal to Impossible Man who according to both companies is Mr. Mxyzptlk who is equal to Trigon who as we see is equal to modern Darkseid. The fact also that Marvel has their own red devil Mephisto and gold and blue titan Thanos classed equal to Loki is just sugar on top.
That part here where he was punching Darkseid saying, "you took everything away from me " is like in Man of Steel when Superman flew into General Zod punching him and saying, " you think you can threaten my mother".

I like how trigon is fully on board to fight Darkseid based solely on principle. He's an old - OLD, entity who's probably fought with the old gods when they themselves were young. Hate is his principle.

This is the extra dimensional planet Apokolips on the Sphere of the Gods, its true sheer size is Way Bigger than the physical Universe itself, and the Portal just shift the immeasurable size of the New Gods to be fit in anywhere they go, also shift the sizes of anyone coming to it there too. Therefore by this speculation, Both of Trigon and Darkseid are at their True Full Cosmic Giant Sizes there.

I don't care what DC fans say and claim, like how people keep saying "Trigon fought The Presence/The Source once" bruh that is just Off-screen we don't know what happened there and even if he fought he still Lose to the Presence anyway just like others, he just have an Iron Ball Courage to face the Presence BUT Don't Mean he actually won against Him, he just survived from it But don't Mean he's that Top Scale in the Cosmic Hierarchy, there are still Many Other Characters Entities that Stand above him like Dr Manhattan Perpetua's race The Hands Perpetua who was The Source's/The Presence's Servant and The Empty Hand Great Darkness's Servant etc., I hate Powerscaling so much, I say from what I research myself from many sources and details. Both Trigon and Darkseid are just Multiversal One. The One who truly Outerversal Omniversal Scale is those of Perpetua Lucifer of Vertigo version etc. Also tbh I mean Im not even DC nor any Superheroes Comics Fan Expert But I do research all the details and lore of almost all of them including the Multiverse or Dimensions beyond and around it and anything. They're Full Of Contradictions a lot and was falsely used by people to suits their own preferences. The Writers also do their jobs so bad. They write Perpetua (Their Own Meta Representation who responsible for All Crisis Events milking the DC Comics Industry) to be the One Who Truly Behind Everything All Crisis In the First Place that Caused ALL These Evils to come, THEN Seconds in Events Later Bring Back Great Darkness with ALL THE SAME SIMILAR PATTERN like her and Earlier Event that just recently ended and start it over again. Bruh. I mean People Fans should read their comics series they following much more clearer clearly, that THERE ARE MANY VERSIONS OF IT. Multiverse of DC have 52 Realities with the Sphere of the Gods which Apokolips WAS THERE Too, and Monitor Sphere etc. Now the infinite universes return after Perpetua's death and so on, they should already give this Franchise a Happy Ending NO more Crisis Ever Agian after she the True Mastermind gone BUT NO, Reuse the old events again milking it ignore the Lessons in Death Metal give to them the Writers... GREAT. Hope they dont ruin it and her character in Animated Adapations Movies Series unlike in Comics, their Concluded Stories of the Whole History of DC 80 Years of Real Life are so Great Interesting for me.... @@Ghostflame780 the reason he gets nerf CONSTANTLY is because he becomes boring, at one point superman was so powerful that he could literally beat anyone that didn't have reality bending abilities with little to no effort if he wanted to. it made him getting rofl stomped by Luthor or Grundy before he one shots them just plain STUPID. So DC nerf's him on a regular basis so there's actual struggle in his fights with Mortals. otherwise every single one of his fights would have to be against beings that could blow up the earth just by blinking to make his fights interesting.

They should’ve just let Trigon deal with Darkseid from the beginning. That could’ve solved so many problems. Follow me here; if Superman, Constantine and Batman had made a deal with Trigon: help them kill darkseid and in return, he’d be exiled to and trapped on his planet Apokalips, a bigger prison, if you will. Seems like a more solid plan than to just go in, guns blazing and hope shit doesn’t hit the fan.

Trigon doesn't care about Earth or Raven, he was just happy to have a physical body and something to punch from what I can tell. His reason I think for wanting Darkseid is because he was freed and Darkseid trapped him again though. Because truth be told, the Omega Beams are a busted move, they can't miss, and when they do hit their target, not only does the target usually die, it makes their soul constantly relive the most painful experience they can imagine on loop IIRC.
