- The 1999 version of Hunter x Hunter is my favorite adaptation in terms of Gon and Killua’s development. We see how Killua is more hesitant and cold in the beginning towards Gon. Killua is constantly battling with himself, his killer instincts keep trying to take over. Gon is enough to stop Killua from following these ill instincts, even the mere thought of him is enough. It has to be Gon.

In the 1999 version Killua is the confident one. And in 2011 version Gon is the confident one. I just think that's really interesting.
Makes me wonder about the manga

What I like about the 1999 version is we have more scenes that go into depth with Gon and Killua's friendship, more than the 2011 adaptation. Many thanks for sharing!

Killuas so fruity in the 1999
I think 1999 version is better with Gon and Killua friendship. They seem to value each others friendship more. Not saying that 2011 don't value the friendship. There is someone trying to interfere with their friendship.
Yeah 99 just has “more” to their friendship showed than 2011 (if you get what I mean idk how to put that in words 😭)
But they added different scenes seeing how close they are to sort of make up for it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@@JustAfruitbasicly the 2011 version want to rush the story so they can continue where the 1999 version last episode(Yorknew arc).
The 1999 version got 31 episodes just for the hunter exam ark, while 2011 version just got 21 episodes.
And 2011 version Yorknew ark end in episode 58 while 1999 version end in episode 70
Just found out the 1999 version end in Greed Island Ark(at least in Japan), I never know 1999 version have GA ark, I feel so betrayed.

@@JustAfruit 1999 version got more episode in hunter exam, that's why there's more screen time for friendship and story, if I remember in the testing gate(Killua house) they do train a long time and Leorio so strong he manage to open gate number 2, while Kurapika and Gon only open gate number 1.
While in 2011 version they train a little and need to open the first gate together.

旧アンチは絶対と言っていいほど観てないよね。
俺は2011の世代だけど、1999の方が圧倒的に素晴らしい作品だった。
上手いかどうかはともかく、合ってるかどうかは個人の好みでしょ。私は旧作のキルアの声の方が圧倒的に好きです。
新作の映像には新作の声優さんが合ってるでしょうね
