- In this video, I'll show you how to Import or Add SRT subtitles in DaVinci Resolve.
Having the ability to add subtitles to a video in DaVinci resolve is awesome but what makes DaVinci even better is the ability to import SRT subtitle files.
You can easily import SRT files to your video and burn in the subtitles to the video if that's what you want to do.

Thanks - simple question, simple answer. Too many of these channels talk for half an hour and sometimes never even get to what I want to know. This was easy and quick.
We need this because Arctime Pro is free to real time key subtitle and free to output srt format. For premiere/Final cut pro subtitle format output need payment. This way is faster than using premiere copy and delete last subtitle for current subtitle line.
Straight to the point and covers exactly what you need to know. Great tutorial, thanks!
what format does the time code need in the srt file?
is 00:00 enough, or de we need 00:00:00:00 in the srt file?
Thanks David. Appreciate the detail and how to align. Just subscribed.
As always, your videos are short, cleae and super helpful!!! Thank you!!!
You are welcome! :)
Nice and concise. Note- if you dont have a flattened (ie only 1 video line) project timeline, it will try to overwrite your V2 video track, so create a Subtitle Video Track and it will go in there without overwriting V2 or higher video track.
Perfect! The helpful video solved my problem. Thank you!
You're welcome.

This is amazing David. but how can i apply effects and text transition on my subtitles !!!
Thank you for this informative video. I also hope Blackmagic updates Resolve to dynamically size that background box. That'd be an incredible and time-saving feature. :)

Thanks for your help 🙏🌺
Hi David. Thanks for posting this. I'm trying this in DaVinci Resolve but I don't get the option to Add a Subtitle Track, only 1. Delete Track, 2. Delete Empty Tracks or 3. Add Track. No other option. I've got the .srt file imported and ready to go. I've updated to the latest version. Is this available only in the paid version?
Thank you very much!!!!!
You're welcome.
thank you man
You're welcome.
Thank you bro...
You're welcome. Happy to share. :)
Is this the Studio version? I have Free and don't have "subtitle track" as an option when I right-click it. Just 'Add track"
No, it's the free version.
@@David_Mbugua thanks I must be missing something, when doing it
thanks buddy
You're welcome! Happy to share.
Nice Tutorial
Thanks, Udara. Glad you like it.
Thanks, good guide
One question please, if I upload the Srt-File in Davinci Resolve ( 15) some simbols like quote mark (" ") or accent ( ú ) or apostroph ( ' ) are not recognized. May do you have an idea how to fix this ? Thanks.
Hello ! How to import subtitles from adobe PP to Davinci ?
Yes! It would be nice if they let you set top and side margins. The good news is that DaVinci Resolve 17.4 (free) will auto-generate the width and height for you now. :) Thank you for this tutorial!
How to Attach VVT Subtitle File? I hope you can help me
What if I update the original file? Davinci won't update the track, even if I relink the srt file
good job.
thx ;)
i am switching to davinci resolve from premiere pro. i am having a problem, i exported my first project in my davinci and SRT FILE.
i uploaded the video and srt file to youtube. but all the subtitle is in 3 second later.. why is it?
Does this works for an ASS file with special effects?
No, it doesn't. DaVinci doesn't support ASS Subtitles at the time of replying to your comment.
@@David_Mbugua Oh I see~ Thank you for your quick reply!
thanks, I didn't know you could just drag them in.
Glad I could help.
just says grant access to folder

275 euros
This tutorial was made using DaVinci Resolve (the free version) not DaVinci Resolve Studio (the paid version)
