I don't think it's amazing for sensetive skin considering how Liah and Ben described the cleanser as drying, not to mention their mineral sunscreen also gave the same feeling😬 I think why it ranked so low is because of the sensory experience and especially the efficacy factor...Cerave is too reliant on ceramide, niacinamide and HA when it comes to skin barrier recovery, while it's still effective, it may consume more time to see obvious results...I also think why they described it as safe is because it provides options for almost all skin types, while other brands definitely gonna give you much more better performance but you really need to have a great amount of knowledge in order to pick a good one..The inkey list for example, while also being affordable, they have much better delivering performance.
@@Hi-uc7tw I don't think one product from one brand defines the entire brand. Even though one cleanser he tried was drying doesn't mean all of the products are. naturium is approved but cerave isn’t?….ok. naturium’s scandal aside, it seems like you guys only enjoy products if they are “high end” when most drugstore products literally have the same ingredients, they just happen to be in a less appealing packaging.
Ingredients alone don't tell you about the performance or sensorial experience and texture. It's been covered by many skincare youtubers. Formulation isn't the same as the ingredient list.
I love this skin care ranking. It was so informative and I got to know a lot about the different brands! You guys are so eloquent in expressing your thoughts on the different brands! :)
Y'all roasted Cerave so much! I honestly don't understand the criticism AT ALL. I have sensitive skin, and Cerave products have been a godsend. Just because their products don't contain a bunch of bs ingredients doesn't mean that they're UNDERWHELMING. And if their foaming cleanser is too stripping, why not use the Hydrating cleanser designed specifically for dry skin? You don't have to insinuate that their products are not for sensitive skin if you're not using them properly based on your skin type!
I have sensitive/ reactive skin and everything i tried from them gave me little puss filled pimples and hives. I went to them for the fact that they are simple. I think it's the hyaluronic acids they use but boy does my skin hate it.
Hey! Thanks so much for watching this lengthy video. Please note that the opinions here are subjective to our own experience and there’s no right or wrong ranking for brands. So thanks for sharing that.
The ordinary is super affordable and it cured all my skin problems in a way that none of the other brands you mentioned did. I also admire how creative Brandon was when he was still alive. I think it’s a cut above a lot of the other brands mentioned here.
Yup they really kickstarted a lot of these other brands like good molecules, inkey list, revolution skincare, versed, etc etc. They made a lot of ingredients available to the average person that previously you could only find in luxury skincare.
@@soumiaraib47 i have combination skin so my T zone is oily and my cheeks are normal/dry, i used their l'hydrating lotion as my moisturizer and while it suited my cheeks, my T zone was oilier. I think you were too hard on CeraVe. I have sensitive skin and their products have really helped me. Great ingredients, no fragrance, affordable and easily accessible. I'm surprised you rated Naturium higher.
I don’t agree with putting Cerave in the recycle category. It’s a great brand recommended by ‘dermatologists’ and not by influencers. There’s a reason why it’s a constant in derm clinics and it has healed many skin conditions. I believe skincare should be evaluated based on its fundamentals and not based on the frills that influencers look for. Kinda disappointed with Liah on this. But it’s their opinion ✌🏻
True, they seem to be talking about fancy ingredients and formulations while actually simple skincare is the best (especially no fragrance). That’s why it’s better to follow dermatologists like Dr.Dray and not influencers that consider dimethicone a bad ingredient :)
People just need to understand that theu don't need * "every skincare ingredient" * they see in the market... I love the ordinary. I love the cost. I would have never used some products that I needed. I understand their concern cause I have had issues learning what's best for my skin but I love that it's affordable and vegan. GOD for me.
THIS is the kinda comprehensive skincare analysis I’ve been looking for! Not just going through ingredients, but knowledge about the brand identity (marketing), the business side (who ultimately owns the brand - is it just PE guys looking to profit or someone who actually cares about customer satisfaction), etc. Thanks for putting this kinda content out, would love to see more.
Loved the vid! Would love to see a Part 2 of this collab with Ben with more brands (e.g the other "clean" Sephora skincare brands like Farmacy and Youth to the People, or higher-end like Elemis!)
At least CeraVe have SPF that meets requirements and is dermatologist approved and recommended unlike “Krave” Innisfree, glow recipe and naturism are highly irritating and contains high levels of fragrances and ingredients that are unnecessary and irritating. Funny how these are on the top while ceraVe is on the bottom. If cerave is finish and recycle, krave should be “ used on my calluses”
I like the communication chemistry you two have. You don't cut each other off, you see the other side, and present clear and pleasant arguments. Great job!

Naturium is above Cerave? I LOLED. I love n have Krave Beauty products because I respect Liah for her skincare knowledge. However, Naturium? Yall like a brand that sells random actives mixed together in a tube? Also the Hydrating Cleanser from Cerave is not drying at all. The Ordinary n P's Choice that sell overly strong actives is above Cerave? Innisfree w a buncha fragrance is above Cerave? Benton w no legit preservatives is above Cerave n near God Tier? No bs whatsoever. It really won't make u less cool to put a "boring" brand on the top tbh.
The then i met you cleansing balm is so overpriced. It's like £37 here, which is almost double that of Farmacy, glow recipe, Clinique and even Elemis cleansing balms.... The Papaya cleansing balm by Glow recipe is my fave by far, followed by Banila and Heimish
The fact that you have a skincare business, this ranking is just so egregiously unethical. I’m just so turned off with how you’re putting down other businesses in order to indirectly promote yours.
I think Neutrogena is unfair, they have some really good products seperate from the acne products. Rapid wrinkle retinol and their gentle cleansers are staples
Have you tried Greek & Gorgeous? It is my favorite brand for vitamin c and retinal. It is a Hungarian brand very similar to TO but with much more elegant formulation. Their aPad and cleaner are awesome too
I broadly speaking like the ranking. I don't rate CeraVe (prefer Simple cleansing lotion and rich/light moisturiser) - CeraVe doesn't agree with my really reactive, really sensitive oily combo skin. I also don't like The Ordinary, despite how amazing some people find it! Good work, even if this will ruffle a few feathers! 😁
Never was a fan of korean skincare. Except for their sunscreens. Sorry not sorry. Their reviews are too one sided and their constant obsession with hydration that can be obtained by using cheap ingredients is too redundant. Tbh, kbeauty products should venture out for more scientifically proven products like vit c and vit a. Not that they don't include it. Their branding is always relying on marketing and cheaply formulated products (hydration with i can easily purchase with something else half the price) Not enough innovation because they know relying on the kpop wave is easy for them to churn out Safe Hydrating products. Honestly, its novelty. Cute packaging with meh ingredients. I rather have effective products. Their one sided reviews on their products seems not legit and untrustworthy. That being said, their sunscreen is good. The rest.... kinda gimmicky and people who usually buy them.. are usually obsessed with kpop. People with real real problematic skin wont find it these kbeauty products work tbh. Thats my thoughts. Products that work triumph over your loyalty to the culture. Same goes for hyram products too. People need to research the ingredients. imo
I'm surprised Neutrogena was ranked so poorly! Their hydro boost range is quite good, albeit a little boring to use. And apparently their retinols are good too
I actually really miss the grapefruit scent of the old Neutrogena products. Even tho I'm a no scent person! Won't use it anymore tho, way to harsh on the kin!and thus I don't use this brand anymore since years 😅
I absolutely love Glow Recipe. Everyone complains about the fragrance but I don’t think the fragrance is nearly as overwhelming as I was lead to believe before I tried the brand. The fragrances are light and each product contains less than .5% fragrance. I understand people who have very sensitive skin don’t like it but I love their formulas and my skin loves their products. I think it’s worth the price. One of my favorite brands of all time.
I got into skincare during the time that The Ordinary started blowing up and I've mostly stuck with it and the Inkey List as well as Japanese brands due to price (lol) and wow so many of these other brands are kinda new to me now since I kinda stopped paying attention to newer products.
Liah, I didn't know Ben before this video, but I'm so happy you brought him on your channel! The way Ben talked about how the Ordinary's accessibility could possibly have an inverse relationship with thoughtfulness and intentionality was really thought-provoking!
wow, THANK YOU, this actually really helps cuz I have no idea where to look for the right skin care for me. a year ago I started using innisfree and that was probably the first time I tried skin care that wasn't a clean & clear or neutregina face wash+face cream combo and it really helped my skin at the time and made it feel so much softer & calmer but recently i feel like it's not doing much for me so it shocked me when you said literally the same thing! will be checking out some of these other brands you mentioned, I'm desperate cuz my acne started going away but now I feel like it's headed in a bad direction again...
Great video but I'd have to say that my experience with a couple of these brands has been completely different. I tried COSRX for months after many recommendations and it completely destroyed my skin. Left me with more breakouts than I'd ever had and terrible skin texture. Switching to CeraVe has honestly been one of the best decisions I've ever made. it's almost completely cleared up my skin and I have so much more of a glow now. I've found that a lot of the Korean skincare brands come highly recommended from people who already have pretty great skin and can handle much harsher ingredients. For people with sensitive skin like myself they can be a bit of a nightmare. I would advise anyone and everyone to do their own research and test the products out for themselves before making a judgement. What works for one person's skin isn't necessarily gonna work for yours. And if you have sensitive skin approach COSRX and similar brands with caution!
I disagree that there are better formulations than cerave! The cleanser is amazing for A lot of people. If someone has sensitive skin I don’t think it’s fair to say that the whole line isn’t good just because it’s not for sensitive skin. I can’t say finish and recycle based on one review.

Yes cerave is healing for the skin. I'd rather go with underwhelming in feeling but overwhelming in taking care of my skin. I finished the biggest tub just in my face 😁
Cerave has been sold for a second time. The pm moisturizer has been reformulated for the 2nd time and not for the better. Some people find the new formula irritating. I am not sure about any of the other products. Thanks
@@happytx1860 I love the hydrating cleanser, pm moisturizer, and the moisturizer cream. There is nothing that works better for me. I'm not a fan of the renewing retinol.
i thought match hemp hydrating cleanser was the most non stripping cleanser… however it’s the Cerave hydrating cleanser that actually takes the crown.. the SA cleanser, and moisturising lotion is ok too for its price. I don’t rate their face lotions.
@@threatlevelmidnight3588The new formula now uses sodium hyaluronate is the salt of Hyaluronic acid and water which has lower molecular weight(this means is easier to penetrate skin, therefore it’s more irritating to skin. The level of Potassium Phosphate is increased in the new formula. Potassium Phosphate is irritating to skin (acidic) Some people are having issues with the new formula. Maybe it's cheaper to make the new formula. Thanks
naturium is approved but cerave isn’t?….ok. naturium’s scandal aside, it seems like you guys only enjoy products if they are “high end” when most drugstore products literally have the same ingredients, they just happen to be in a less appealing packaging.
Amen lol
Naturium is so overrated. Most of those who really enjoy the brand are obviously the owner's "friends".. 😌
So happy to hear that you enjoyed!💚
@@AA-bk1oe Totally fair! Everyone reacts differently to certain ingredients!
I only used it two times and i never had such inflammation in months/years
Terrible
Cerave changed my god damn life, I will never use any other products on my face again 😂
Hey! Thanks so much for watching this lengthy video. Please note that the opinions here are subjective to our own experience and there’s no right or wrong ranking for brands. I think that’s the fun of these types of videos-to learn each other’s perspective. Everyone’s skin is unique and everyone’s brand experience is unique as well. Please don’t feel disheartened just because a brand you love has been ranked low in the tier does not invalidate your positive experience! If anything, it’s great to see your point of view. So thanks for sharing that.
CeraVe isn't approved, but Naturium is? Nah I'm going to listen to the derms on this one
I started using skincare because of Innisfree. Basically because Girl's Generations Yoona was their model. But now i only use their tinted lip balms🙈
Hello can u tell me which ordinary serum can reduce pores and tiny bumps.
And which one will be best for dark circles
CeraVe… Finish & Recycle… am sorry honey but what? 😅😅
Is this brand good for an oily acne skin i wanna try it and i don't know if i should
@@soumiaraib47 i have combination skin so my T zone is oily and my cheeks are normal/dry, i used their l'hydrating lotion as my moisturizer and while it suited my cheeks, my T zone was oilier. I def like it better as a body lotion. I would personally recommend the Etude House Soon jung Emulsion as a moisturizer it's very lightweight and yet hydrating.
@@soumiaraib47 Yes honey! If you have an oily acne skin I suggest you to use thier foaming facial cleanser and then follow up with thier facial moisturizing lotion spf 30. Simple and effective!😃
@@salmaraf ohhh no am sorry it did not work for you.😓It's sad because it has done wonders for my skin.
They are just sharing their opinions so it's subjective. I don't get why some people are unhappy certain brands are ranked low by them. If you guys trust dermatologists more (which you should) then why are you guys even here? 😂
You seem to come alive with ben around. Never seen you with so much energy and expression.
I should have more guests around! It was great to film a collab 😊
@@LiahYoo please, collab with kim jangmi/syllyworld 🌹
The snail mucin from cosrx is really amazing. It's by far the best product I've tried from them.
Would love to know how you guys rate Good Molecules ✨
I think you were too hard on CeraVe. I have sensitive skin and their products have really helped me. Great ingredients, no fragrance, affordable and easily accessible. I'm surprised you rated Naturium higher.
I think the ranking's also based on sensorial experience. CeraVe works! It's just not better in feel and texture.
Exactly!!
True, they seem to be talking about fancy ingredients and formulations while actually simple skincare is the best (especially no fragrance). That’s why it’s better to follow dermatologists like Dr.Dray and not influencers that consider dimethicone a bad ingredient :)
somehow, liah yoo energy always makes me feel like home and very comfortable.
People just need to understand that theu don't need * "every skincare ingredient" * they see in the market... The ordinary was a saviour for me as a teenager, as my parents are not willing to spend a fortune for my skincare products 😭... So it's because of some people, these kinds of brands like the ordinary will die... Save it please.
I love how Ben just hates fragrance because I do too! Lol my skin just doesn’t like fragrances
me too! even slight fragrance scares me because of how bad my skin reacts to it
Cosrx aloe spf50 sunscreen ,
Cosrx snail essence and
Cosrx birch sap moisturizer are my holy grail skincare.
Cerave has changed my skin. I’m not bougie so it’s definitely approved by me.
That’s so great!
Same I used their cleanser and lotion and it's totally give me good results.
Would love to see a Part 2 of this collab with Ben with more brands (e.g the other "clean" Sephora skincare brands like Farmacy and Youth to the People, or higher-end like Elemis!)
agreed! tatcha and drunk elephant too
As a chemist, I truly enjoyed this, gotta check out a lot of these brands :) Thanks, guys
OMG you follow Liah!!! And I follow your YT too!
At least CeraVe have SPF that meets requirements and is dermatologist approved and recommended unlike “Krave”
Innisfree, glow recipe and naturism are highly irritating and contains high levels of fragrances and ingredients that are unnecessary and irritating. Funny how these are on the top while ceraVe is on the bottom. If cerave is finish and recycle, krave should be “ used on my calluses”
I like the communication chemistry you two have. You don't cut each other off, you see the other side, and present clear and pleasant arguments. Great job!
Liah is so charming and polite and she knows so much, the subject of the video is also interesting
Thank you so much for enjoying the video 😊💚
So shocked about the Cerave review, I disagree. I have a great experience with them.

Then you're still a beginner in skincare i guess..try exploring more skincare and you'll understand why they put it that way...Cerave is good and SAFE but there's much more better products outhere
@@LiahYoo I love your way to explain 🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍
I am so glad to see a sweet person like
you in a very rude world
@@thegoodkindofweirdo Mr or Miss. I can’t have an opinion ? I completely agree with Liah that skincare is not one size fits all. She was very kind to take time to respond and share her thoughts. I was expressing I was genuinely shocked because I find Cerave to be a brand that does the job. Sure thing there are other brands with more amazing products lol. I think maybe is you who wasted your energy? Not everyone online is mean btw lol I promise.
@@Hi-uc7tw not a beginner, I spend all my money on buying diff skincare 😅oh boy we probably all do that here haha. But I still stand by my statement, I like simple :))
When Ben said that he once loved the Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Face Wash, I was so shocked, because that stuff gave me a terrible skin rash that took forever to heal. 😬 Just goes to show that two people can have sensitive or reactive skin and still experience the same product very differently.
I have owned n loved products from most brands in this video cuz I've been obsessed w skincare since 10 years ago, but u really need to get your priorities sorted. Krave Beauty n Careve r 2 brands that belong in the God Tier for me because all of Krave products r good, and anyone any age any skin condition can pick up a full routine from Cerave n be good to go. No bs whatsoever. It really won't make u less cool to put a "boring" brand on the top tbh.
I still love the Ordinary… I get nervous when I run out of niancinimide and copper buffet and alpha Arbutin
ahhh i was hoping laneige would be on the list somewhere :(
What about Avene? Is that a good brand? Or La roche Posey 😦?
I wish CeraVe wasn't so low! It's actually a great brand!! That's just my opinion though😄
I like Isntree more than innisfree
That’s your opinion Cerave is great so is Cetaphill and Aveeno all these drugstore
Why are some of you so offended? It’s their list, not yours. They obviously had different experiences with different skincare brands.
Because we are allowed to react to videos and give our opinions. Its RUclips. They can shut off the comments if they don’t want feedback.
no dear klairs or some by mi or purito?
the only two kbeauty products I've ever bought have been mentioned as their favourites. I feel like a genius
Oh what were those!
@@LiahYoo benton's BHA aloe toner and snail bee high content :)
that sweet sweet validation 😂
The then i met you cleansing balm is so overpriced. It's like £37 here, which is almost double that of Farmacy, glow recipe, Clinique and even Elemis cleansing balms.... The Papaya cleansing balm by Glow recipe is my fave by far, followed by Banila and Heimish
Glow was too fragranced for me but I really like Clinique at the moment. If something is more expensive than elemis you know it's overpriced 😬
The fact that you have a skincare business, this ranking is just so egregiously unethical. I’m just so turned off with how you’re putting down other businesses in order to indirectly promote yours.
HAHAHAHAHA omg I thought the same about people who had Neutrogen in their bathroom like Ben HAHAHAHAHA
Paula’s choice is still great, still very trustworthy.
I think Neutrogena is unfair, they have some really good products seperate from the acne products. Rapid wrinkle retinol and their gentle cleansers are staples
I think this video was good for average maybe. But I think people should follow dermatologists on this.
I’m curious what your thoughts are on SkinCeuticals, Caudalie, and La Mer.
I love Ceravethst brand they are highly recommended by all Dermatologists
People need to research the ingredients. imo
Y uno sin dinero para comprar nada de lo que recomiendan :(
I'm surprised Neutrogena was ranked so poorly! Their hydro boost range is quite good, albeit a little boring to use. And apparently their retinols are good too
I agree!
my god tier goes to whatever brow brand ben is using
I think cerave deserves better ranking then innis free....... I am approving cerave.....its the best best best💗💗💗💗💖💖💖💖
I actually really miss the grapefruit scent of the old Neutrogena products. Even tho I'm a no scent person! Won't use it anymore tho, way to harsh on the kin!and thus I don't use this brand anymore since years 😅
hahahahaha @ Neutrogena. I was born in 1986, & even for me, Neutrogena was the holy grail/good stuff when I was a young teen.
The Ordinary is a hard pass for me. Broke out and had patches of redness.. Never again.
Ok so CeraVe is causing me to break out it hasn’t gotten bad but should I finish and recycle or just throw it immediately. Let me know soon.
Love this video! Benton Aloe BHA Skin Toner fan here! 💚 Greetings from El Salvador
Dont know how no one has mentioned it, but Liah's hair in this video is god tier 😘👌
brb screenshotting this to show to my hairstylist 😂
Omg let’s be twinning!
Wow, i really appreciate your opinions. I like the way you explained, it makes so much sense, i save a lot of money from what you said.
I don't find the smell strong at all either... love glow recipe...
Cerave into “Users approved” category
Iunik? Hoped to see this.
Where are your earrings from Liah? They're so nice!
Ohh I got them in one of the street vendors in Korea!
Surprised Dear Klairs isn't on here. I thought that was a pretty popular brand.
Then I met you is so overpriced. Same with glow recipe
I got into skincare during the time that The Ordinary started blowing up and I've mostly stuck with it and the Inkey List as well as Japanese brands due to price (lol) and wow so many of these other brands are kinda new to me now since I kinda stopped paying attention to newer products.
I wish people would talk about Truly Beauty. I don't know how to feel about there products.
Everything was alright until Naturiom was approved
SAME
What's the problem with Naturiom?
Liah, I didn't know Ben before this video, but I'm so happy you brought him on your channel! The way Ben talked about how the Ordinary's accessibility could possibly have an inverse relationship with thoughtfulness and intentionality was really thought-provoking!
yay!! I'm so glad
I wonder why I don't know most of them...
Then I Met You Cleansing Balm is polyethylene free according to their own website.
I love the pc 2% too and i dont think theres a dupe for that one
For me I'm from and By Wishtrend is god tier. Would love to hear Ben and Liah's opinion about it.
I didn’t like versed sunscreen neither moisturizer sorry
wow, THANK YOU, this actually really helps cuz I have no idea where to look for the right skin care for me. a year ago I started using innisfree and that was probably the first time I tried skin care that wasn't a clean & clear or neutregina face wash+face cream combo and it really helped my skin at the time and made it feel so much softer & calmer but recently i feel like it's not doing much for me so it shocked me when you said literally the same thing! will be checking out some of these other brands you mentioned, I'm desperate cuz my acne started going away but now I feel like it's headed in a bad direction again...
I need your ranking for Noroid please
I love innisfree and cosrx brand, they're affordable and never make my skin breakout
I disagree that there are better formulations than cerave! The cleanser is amazing for
A lot of people. If someone has sensitive skin I don’t think it’s fair to say that the whole line isn’t good just because it’s not for sensitive skin. I can’t say finish and recycle based on one review.
It sounds harsh a lot of these brands have good products.
